I did not have high expectations about this tourist spot, but was even more surprised about the beauty of Wuzhizhou Island. We visited Hengdian and Shanghai movie town before, therefore we thought Haikou movie town is so so only if compared with them. Moderate space. Spend few hours here including lunch at fast food store. Still recommend every traveller to come here if you never go other movie studio before. Visited on August 2019.See more..

Tried the Beijing Gyoza, pork chee cheong fun (猪肉猪肠粉) which i really liked! Also tried coconut steamed rice and coconut jelly which I find average.. They also sell food like mango shelks, chill cooked snails, cuttlefish skewers, mango and coconut desserts etc. At the Gyoza stall, there's an Indian man making roti prata as well! Interesting place worth a visit. To the left and just beside qilou food street, there's another food street to explore :) Tip: At qilou, you pay for food using a reloadable card, you can purchase this from the card sale counter. For about 7 rmb you can take a public mini bus to this location. Not much to see or do there. But being amongst the coconut palm trees is nice. The local people are kind and eager to talk to any foreigners. Fresh coconut juice for 5 rmb is very refreshing and delicious. They could make this place a real tourist destination but I don't see that happening, too bad. See more..
This is a great place to go to get away from the commercialization and just rest and relax. There were food and fruit vendors so you could get the freshest of food as you rested along the beach. We actually rode an ostrich that was available to ride along the beach. Certainly never had done that. China is always full of surprises and this aquatint area was no exception.See more..

Place exceeded expectations and have become a nice surprise, especially it’s located in relatively small, not tourist-beloved town. Not full building but only facades kept from beginning of last century, and these are really asking for some restoration work, but it gives a real history feeling. I was told street built by overseas returnees in early 1910-1920, haven’t done research on it though. Street is full of shops, which are rather daily shops then selling usual tourist crap, so you can feel it’s pretty local and part of real town life. See more..

We left Sanya and made our way to Qionhai to visit family. On our way there, we stopped by a town call Bo'ao. This is a resort town at the Wanquan River. This is the town where there is an entire center dedicated for hosting the annual Ba'ao forum. We stopped by a Buddhist temple which was made into a tourist attraction. Basically like all other tourist attractions, tickets need to be purchased to enter. Once again, I was amazed by the volume of tourists in what I thought was a quiet town. The temple itself has a guided tour in Mandarin to give an overview of the temple, it's architecture and about Buddhism. Photography is discouraged in the temple grounds. So, if you are only there for photos, then, do note the limitations. The temple itself has nice architecture especially the pagoda that overlooks the temple and the Guanyin statue at the back of the temple that over looks the river. Prayer jossticks and ribbons can be purchased for offerings. Overall, it's a good place to go for prayer and offerings. I would not necessarily go off path to make my way there for this.See more..
