Qilou Old Street features a fusion of Asian and European architecture, with touches too of Indian and Arabic styles. The arcade houses are influenced by the overseas Chinese merchants who built them. The ground floor is set back into the building providing a covered verandah sheltering the shops from the sun and rain with the living quarters on the upper levels In the evenings there is street snack food. This is not an 'attraction' that I would go out of my way to visit. It is across the road from Qilou Old Street which is one of Haikou's historic visitor sites, so take a look and grab a photo when visiting Qilou Old Street the job done. I must confess I took a photo whilst driving past!See more..

I think it's a must see if you're in Wenchang. I don't know if this place ever gets busy but when I was there it was just about empty. Feel free to walk around and enjoy the peacefulness.
