We planned our afternoon perfectly to get here at sunset and enjoyed the many platforms and walks. Once you get to the top it is very walkable and has well lit paths. The views will allow you to see much of the city and the many bays around the city. In low season the tickets are 35 each and there is a round trip bus that can take you to the top/down for another 15. We opted for the bus as we wanted to get up quickly for the sunset and it was still quite hot. There were some monkeys near the top but if you take the mountain pass to the deer statue you can avoid them. There was a security guard swinging a bamboo stick to keep them away when we went. Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Park was really an interesting place to see. This is absolutely a place you have to visit when you are in Sanya. The 108 m high statue above the sea was really amazing! We recommend you to go there in the morning, because there are so much tourists during the afternoon. Take time to be there, because it takes time to get in the temple and the statue on its roof and there are a lot of other things to see in the park.See more..

The main attraction of Xi Dao is the adjoining small Niuwang Dao (island) sporting a massive eponymous golden bull on its summit. This place is heavenly with lakes and very lush greenery. It is free of charge to enter. There is a hotel with café and restaurant inside and bike hire. I have to say my bike was so uncomfortable I’m glad I only hired it for an hour. 100RMB deposit for the bike and the hire fee will be deducted on your return; 20RMB one hour, 30RMB two hours. You can hire for longer. Maybe the other bikes were less uncomfortable. You can cycle on all the green striped routes and it is a vast park. You would need a taxi or car or be able to walk the 1.4miles to the entrance from the main road. See more..

Visited the temple and although the price is cheap, the condition inside is, well pathetic. Dirt and leaves everywhere, and not a single bench was clean enough to sit on. The attendants were all sleeping, except one girl who was playing on her cellphone and didn't even bother a glance at us. This is 11am in the morning. Just affirms the stereotype of lazy Hainanese. This place needs a revamp, seriously! How can Hainan claim to be an international tourist destination when most of the signage isn't even bilingual. Like many things in China, this place has great potential. However I wouldn't recommend it for anyone visiting since you'll just walk away sadly disappointed.See more..
The rainforest is about an hour and a half from Sanya but well worth travelling the distance for some breathtaking view and scenery. There are some many plants and animals on view that you'll need lots of time to appreciate everything. You can get there by bus but you're better off taking a car or arranging a tour. It's easy to get lost in the park so you could get a guide. Bring water, sun block, insect repellent, sun glasses and wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the fresh air.See more..

Evergreen Park is the English name for Jinjiuling. Very few foreigners here. Locals bring their kids to enjoy the small area of amusement park rides. Lovely gardens, beautiful trees and walkways. Snack on a fresh coconut. Fun to rent an electric cart (60 yuan per hour) and buzz around the paths and along the South China Sea. Large ships heading in/out. Bridge to island and Hainan University. After visiting the Haian Lu night markets, we visited Baishamen Park to go on the Ferris Wheel. It 20RMB plus a 5RMB deposit on a credit card. You get great views of the north parts of Haikou. We also got a view of a massive storm sweeping in! 5 minutes after we hopped off the heavens opened and it rained harder than I’ve experienced for a long time. We would have gone on other rides like a mini roller coaster, but everything shut down. There’s more to the park than the amusement rides, but we didn’t see that.See more..

Most of the morning of our first touring day was spent at Hainan Tropic Bird Park [海南熱帶飛禽世界], the largest bird zoo in China with over 250 species of birds. We spent most of our time in parrot square, taking pictures with parrot species and peacocks, feeding them, and watching a performance. Our experience at the park was not bad but the quality of the theme park cannot compare with Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. The thing I hate most about theme parks in China, though, is that there is always a photographer taking your pictures. Although you are never coerced to buy them, at RMB10 each, you always feel compromised. I bought three pictures at the bird park, and I had similar pictures in my camera. But my mom and I really had a nice time feeding the birds.See more..
This a very enjoyable place to visit .A nice drive to the plantation and when you get there the people are extremely friendly. As for the Coconuts well the milk is delicious and I found it dificult to stop drinking it .Country side at its very best and so very different from my normal habitat. It's a lovely walk to get to the waterfall, with a path you can easily follow. I was glad to see that the place had not been over-commercialized like some other nature attractions in China are. I would take a hat or umbrella if it's a very sunny day as it can get quite hot (a water bottle too). On your way back you can buy yourself a fresh coconut or sugarcane to munch on. It was a nice quiet walk when we went, with not that many people besides us (can't imagine what it must be like if it's very busy as some of the rocks can be a bit slippery so take care).See more..
