Mamutik Island

Just back from Manutik Islands, snorkeling. The waters are clear, the beach is clean unlike many online feedbback. Try to visit this and other islands like the Sapi Islands before some big countries open their borders and swarm and dirty the beaches all over again. Should consider using the Sutera jetty to reach the islands (served by Derek who is very friendly and professional) as there is only one operator there (maybe one or two more ?) instead of the Jesselton Point which is like a fish market of multiple operators. The beach is teeming with fishes just near the shorer provided inconsiderate tourists do not pollute the place.

Gorgeous short trip from KK. great snorkelling
This is more like it, amazing little Island. They have roped off areas where careless tourists cannot go hence the coral and fish life is better for off the beach snorkelling. Not as many people as the bigger island and cleaner water.

    Great island-hopping experience
I went on a self-arranged island-hopping tour from Jesselton ferry terminal with Manukau island on my itinerary. The ferries arrive and depart every hour so it’s best to spend 2 hours on this island if you want to trek the island and take a dip in the water. You must pay an additional RM25 for each island you visit. The last ferry returning to KK is 16:00 so if you want to visit other islands along with Mamutik, go early!
