This small museum is easily seen in less than one hour and even my wife, who is not a history buff, found it interesting . The Acadian history in PEI is not as well known as that in Nova Scotia but the experience of the Acadians was much the same. This is a really interesting museum and very inexpensive to visit. - Amazing experience - a history lesson in time and farm experience

What an amazing experience! This village is underrated. We booked an experience called “new farm life.” We spent nearly two hours milking goats, bottle feeding sheep, grooming a horse and then taking a beautiful carriage ride. Kevin was the most amazing host ever and so knowledgeable and friendly. We can’t thank him enough! Visited the school with explanations by Felix about life in the late 1800s. Ended with a morning tea and great service by Jessica. Highly recommend this as a must do for anyone visiting PEI. Rather than do the regular entrance fee, take advantage of their different experiences - highly recommend the new farm life. Not enough words to express that this was the highlight out of a PEI visit! See more..

It was amazing to see how things were years and years ago. I found it cool that if someone needed something they made it. There is a variety of things to learn about like farming, fishing, the store, schooling and the everyday lifestyle See more..

  5. 4.5 Bedeque Area Historical Museum (4 reviews)
    - A museum to remember

    Bedeque Area Historical Museum image
This new, small gem of a museum was clearly inspired by the lives and times of the Loyalist founders of Bedeque, PEI. Pre-Loyalist Bedeque had not been an Acadian French settlement but rather a First Nations Micmac one whose francophone name was actually Micmac for "a sunny place". The Loyalists arrived in the 1780s and their descendants still live there more than 200 years later. The museum presents a varied and creative selection of the objects they used in their homes and businesses but not at the remove of a glass-defended display case. Rather, the curators have prepared compact and compelling tableaux. It is a small museum but it is difficult to make a short visit. For any PEIslander or those interested in Canada's smallest province, this museum is worth that visit. Wheelchair accesssible- both floors. See more..
  6. 5.0 Alberton Museum and Genealogy Centre (3 reviews)
    - Excellent Experience with an Unexpected Encounter

Arlene went above and beyond for our family as our main goal to visiting PEI was discovering family lineage. She was instrumental in supporting us in locating family burial sites. She filled in missing pieces to our family tree. She shared brief narratives of relatives lives and even facilitated the meeting of two first cousins whom never knew each other. Truly amazing!
