Wandering the trails through this PEI National park to the sea is a great way to spend a half day (or more). I am sure that the ambiance changes with the weather to make each visit unique, there are two trails and boardwalks, one to St. Peter’s bay and the other to Greenwich Beach. Relatively flat and well groomed so an easy walk for all. The beach is spectacular and walkable and when I went in July the bayside walk had a myriad of wildflowers. Recommend for a pleasant little hike. See more..

This was under construction during my trip last year so it was great to see it completed. It's a nice walk over a small pond with the dunes to the side. You can see fish, water bugs and other wildlife. Catch it an hour or so before sunset for some amazing photos. See more..

We walked early in the morning and saw a fox and deer, very exciting for our grand children. A little later it warmed up, mosquitos started to hunt for blood, more hikers came out. Well worth getting up for early! See more..

My husband, Lab and I hiked this trail last weekend. We brought our snow shoes but there was enough traffic that the trail was packed down and we didn’t need them. It is a very easy 6 km loop and mostly goes along the edge of Winter River. Very scenic! There’s even a shiver shack about 3 km in - great place to stop and have lunch and warm up. There are benches along the way to stop and take in the spectacular views. Ample parking and dog friendly! The trail is well marked as well, you won’t get lost! See more..

We spent 2 nights here. Sites 73 and 74 are as close to the ocean as humanly possible (we were a bit worried that high tide would actually get us, but no worries). These sites are directly across from the bathroom, which was extremely clean (they were cleaning it every few hours). The very bright light that couldn’t be turned off was a bit annoying but these are the only ones directly on the beach. Sites 56/57/58 are reasonably private, but the most private is the other beachfront site (in the 70s, can’t remember the number, all the way to the left when looking at the map). See more..

  8. 4.0 North Cape Hiking Trail (1 review)
    - Walked the Black Marsh Trail
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
It was a lovely day so we decided to walk the Black Marsh trail. It is a flat trail that took slightly longer than an hour to walk out and back, all together. There were some signs after we got going, but it was a bit confusing at the start as to which way to go. It was interesting to see the tall wind turbines and get an idea of just how big they are. Lovely views of lobster boats off in the distance. We were hoping to see whales, but unfortunately there were none. A nice walk on a nice day. See more..
