The 8 temples are easily reached by taxi from central Chengde - 10 -15mins at most. Entrance fees are a standard 80RmB but the tickets usually cover two or more temples as long as you visit them on the same day. The bigger temples have lots of Chinese tour parties so they can be crowded and noisy. The earlier in the day you visit the better. Allow a morning or afternoon for each temple. When we visited (Oct 2011) two of the smaller temples (Pu Ren & An Yuan temples) were closed for restoration.See more..
