Had a tandem skydive today and can’t fault it at all. All staff were friendly, the receptionist was friendly on arrival and told us where we could sit and where the toilets, food and drink facilities were etc. Had the safety briefing by a man who was also really nice and clearly explained instructions to us and made sure we understood. Was introduced to my instructor Ben who was also really nice and made sure I was safely in the harness etc. Really friendly man who kept checking to make sure I was ok. He made sure I understood what I needed to do properly and had a good chat with me too, we had a laugh! Really enjoyed the actual skydive would highly recommend, worth the money and W was made to feel comfortable from start to finish. Thank you! See more..

  5. 5.0 The National Holocaust Centre and Museum (320 reviews)
    - Thought provoking
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Spent More than 3 hours History Museums
The National Holocaust Centre and Museum image
Can you imagine anyone in the UK not knowing about the Holocaust? Unfortunately, recent studies show that this is indeed the case. Some people are unaware, others deny it. This lack of awareness and outright denial is terrifying when you consider that, put simply, The Holocaust was the attempt by the Nazi regime and its collaborators to murder all of European Jewry during the Second World War. The Nazis succeeded in murdering six million Jewish people and millions of other minority groups who they considered to be ‘inferior’. The magnitude of personal loss is impossible to fathom. This is why the National Holocaust Centre and Museum exists. We are the only dedicated memorial, museum and centre of Holocaust learning in the UK. Our purpose is pressing within today’s society, as hate is on the rise. We are communicators of Holocaust memory for a contemporary purpose: to encourage people to stand up against hate. See more..

Limo arrived in plenty time and chauffeur waited patiently for brides departure before and after wedding service. Both the limo and chauffeur were immaculate. Chauffuer smartly dressed and limo nicely decorated with white ribbons and bows. I had asked if I could connect my phone to play a particular song during the journey but Aura had it downloaded into car system in preparation which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend Aura which I found to be a very professional service with competitive pricing. See more..

  23. 4.5 Newark Air Museum (644 reviews)
    - Plenty of Aircraft to See!
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Military Museums
    Newark Air Museum image
It's a good museum with a wide variety of British planes (Lightning, Shackleton, Sea Vixen, and so on) and ones from different countries such as the Saab Drakken and Viggen, and Dassault Mystere IV. They also have the nicest looking outdoor Vulcan that I've seen. I did not try out their cafe, but that looked to be a good setup. That being said, there were times where it felt like they tried to cram too many aircraft in one area, and other times where they kept you so far away from the planes that you really couldn't enjoy them (such as the Saab Viggen). Also, being asked if you paid for admission while you're browsing the store is kind of off-putting. Maybe they need to employ stickers or something that makes it easy for the employees to know who's paid and who's not. See more..
  24. 4.5 Newark Castle (628 reviews)

During the visit, relax in the quiet garden areas and admire the picturesque views. Entertainment often occurs seasonally, with a bandstand for concerts available, and makes for a great day out. Newark Castle and Gardens offer nearby parking, so it is easily accessible by car. It is also close to historic market places; Southwell market and Newark market, so why not visit the pretty market towns too. See more..
  25. 4.5 White Post Farm (558 reviews)
    - Lots of improvements
    Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Farms
    White Post Farm image
Visited yesterday with small children (2.5,1.5,7 months), last visited in 2017. Quite a few new things (I think)- can’t remember the birds of prey section or the wallaby walk through. Plenty to keep them entertained- both animals and great play areas, food price at kiosk was reasonably priced compared to many places, as was the animal food. Cost about £35 for 2 adults and 1 child (under 2’s were free), only downside was that quite a few of the toilets near the kiosk food place were locked meaning long queues for the toilet. Animal pens/fields/living areas looked well maintained with lots of space/shelter. Overall really enjoyable day out, we would have stayed for longer but they were worn out and grumpy by 3.30pm. See more..
  26. 4.5 Attenborough Nature Centre (492 reviews)
    - Good place for fresh air and exercise
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Attenborough Nature Centre image
We've started to visit some local places now that we're allowed to travel more. Attenborough Nature Reserve is a place we've always visited before and it's good to return. We went early morning just after the car park opened at 9am and there were only a couple of other cars there. When we returned about 10:45 there were lots of cars in the car park. We didn't find it a problem walking around as the main paths are mostly wide. Just now and then we had to move aside to let someone pass. I expect as the day went on this might be more often. Be aware that the bridge along the lakeside between Attenborough and Beeston is still closed and fenced off so you can't get across it. This meant quite an extra detour for us out and along the road and back into Attenborough village. As you'd expect - the facilities are closed, including toilets. See more..

Bring your family and a picnic and encourage your children to let off steam in the extensive play area, which has around 20 pieces of modern equipment for children up to the age of 12. The play area includes a swing suitable for less able children (safety equipment is available on request) and part of the equipment is accessible to wheelchair users. For older children there's a skateboard midi half pipe, and a 4X/ BMX cycle track situated nearby. Access to the park is free. As my twin brother Stephen and I were staying in The Premier Inn along Goldsmith Street so The Arboretum was only a few minutes walk away, we had got up early on a Tuesday morning, we went The Gooseberry Bush Pub ( Wetherspoon pub ) for breakfast and then we went over to The Arboretum for a nice walk around this green oasis of calm.
