  5. 5.0 Wild Pines Park (122 reviews)
    - Fun, adrenaline filled day
Monday: Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Wild Pines Park image
I bought this experience for my Grandchildren as an Easter present and what a fab time we had. I was a little apprehensive as this was our first family day out after lockdown, but it was easy to maintain social distancing and there were ample sanitising stations, and spotlessly clean onsite toilet facilities. First we tried archery (loved this) and Sam our instructor, talked us through the basics, and gave clear advice. The equipment was cleaned prior to us using it and in excellent condition. Then to the tree tops, initial safety (and confidence) chat, again by Sam and we were off. The course starts easy and gets progressively harder and higher, but there are options along the way to take an “easy” or difficult route, and Sam was always close by to offer help and advice. As you would imagine this is quite physical, and yes I do ache a little today! We all had a great time at Wild Pines Park and I would definitely recommend Our group age ranged from 6 - 60 years See more..
  6. 5.0 Lincoln Free Walking Tour (88 reviews)
    - Saturday morning Lincoln free walking tour
    Walking Tours • Day Trips
    Lincoln Free Walking Tour image
Saturday morning tour was absolutely brilliant. The two guides were professional, personable and full of interesting information and anecdotes. One of us was a mobility scooter user and the care both guides took to ensure his comfort and safety was superb. Originally, we didn’t think he would last more than half an hour but he enjoyed the tour so much he was determined to finish it despite the cobbles, steep hills and rain! We would never have seen half the places they showed us nor learnt as much about the city without doing this tour on the Saturday morning. Before booking online, I made an email enquiry and a helpful response was quickly received. Thank you Brant and Matt from four very grateful visitors. See more..

  9. 4.5 Lincoln Cathedral (6.510 reviews)
    - outdoor tour with Les Parker
Monday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
    Lincoln Cathedral image
'I have always held and proposed against all comers to maintain that the Cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles' - John Ruskin Lincoln Cathedral was for almost 300 years the tallest building in the world. Yet, in spite of its size, it is filled with intricate detail. Remigius, the Bishop who built the earliest part of the Cathedral in the Norman style, came over with William the Conqueror. Later, in Lincoln Cathedral the architects of the gothic style perhaps reached the pinnacle of their art. Everywhere you look there is the most intricate detail, walls, roofs elaborated by the finest carving. From the time of the death of the saintly Bishop of Lincoln, Hugh of Avalon who so lovingly restored the Cathedral after an earthquake in the 12th century, thousands of people have come on pilgrimage to this place of pilgrimage, holiness and prayer. In 1215 another Hugh Bishop of Lincoln, Hugh of Wells, was present at Runnymede along with Lincolnshire's Cardinal Archbishop Stephen Langton. When King John agreed to the barons' demands, copies of Magna Carta were made and distributed to sheriffs and cathedrals throughout England. Lincoln Cathedral's Magna Carta is one of only four from the original distribution still in existence. It is the only one to bear the name of its city. See more..

    Belton House image
Absolutely stunningly beautiful gardens and parkland. The house was closed (decorating for Christmas) when we visited, but it was still well worth the admission money. We first visited on a Sunday and had lunch at the cafe. We enjoyed it so much that we visited again during the same week and spent three hours just walking and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Afterwards we enjoyed tea in the café and a walk around the gift shop - dogs welcome in both. The food/coffee was excellent and reasonably priced too. I would thoroughly recommend this place for anyone with a dog, and there is a wonderful play area for children too. See more..

    Museum Of Lincolnshire Life image
I took my Dad to visit the museum. It was very interesting for him (in his 80’s) and myself in my 40’s. I went with an open mind thinking it would be small and a quick visit, but there is lots to see. There is free parking outside and a lovely welcoming reception area, with two friendly ladies who will help and guide you with your visit. There are toilets, a book shop and gift shop too. I would highly recommend this museum, even young children would enjoy parts of it. Lots of outside space and a play area too. We loved it and would definitely return. See more..

Tattershall Castle proudly rises from the flat Lincolnshire fens; a survivor of conflict, decay and restoration. Built of red brick in an era of stone, this fortified manor is one of the earliest and finest surviving examples of English medieval brickwork. Monday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve image
Gibraltar Point nature reserve remains the same since I was little, still a lovely place to walk, and take in the environment. After winter floods the area is now enhanced with a smashing cafe with lovely views from the verandas and roof terrace. Today, in the middle of September we sat outside with coffee and bacon baps, all was very good and the warm sunny weather was just a great delight. So lovely to see the terraces full with us oldies taking in the sunshine, good food and remembering those youthful days when we would bike or even walk down to this peaceful place either along the narrow road or the beach. - A treat - even for non scientists
Monday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Woolsthorpe Manor image
We were very impressed with our visit. We booked a tour of Isaac Newton's home; the guide was very knowledgeable and interesting, giving background information to Newton's life and family. We even saw the famous apple tree and learnt about its subsequent history. There was an interactive museum in one of the outbuildings which reminded me of what I had learnt and discovered when at school: a positive experience! Another guide talked us through some of the displays and again kept our interest. There was a reasonable choice of food and drink in the cafe and it was pleasant to be able to sit in the courtyard. The Manor was well worth seeing and we are so pleased we made the decision to go. See more..

Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Mablethorpe Beach image
Another great day at Mablethorpe. We don’t tend to go to the main part of the town as it’s a bit run down, but we park in the Queens car park south where it’s £5 to park all day, a very short walk to the beach. The toilets are free and the Coral Cafe had a great offering of refreshments! The beach itself was very clean and the sand was lovely! It’s a tad quieter than the main beach area so I would recommend this part of the beach if you want a relaxing time! See more..
