    - Brilliantly spooky ghost tour

    Shiverpool image
We had an absolutely brilliant time with Chiller black & her weird brother Piece Morgue hearing all the spooky ghost storys and history of our wonderful city. So many interesting and haunting stories along the way, hard to choose a favourite part of the tour. I think the best part was venturing down in to the dead house both guides/actors were amazing and so full of information too. We especially loved Chiller black's commanding presence, she really brought such an authentic and fun character to the experience. So funny to interact with both actors along the tour and see what characters and backstory they develop throughout. Such a unique experience and one I'll definitely be coming back for! We learnt so much about Liverpool too and it's spooky history. Perfect tour for spooky season ✨ (Gifted experience for Liverpool Echo what's on. Opinion is my own) See more..

    - The Magnificent Mersey Tunnel Tour, A Liverpool Tour Must!
Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historical & Heritage Tours • Walking Tours • Sightseeing Tours
    Mersey Tunnels Tour image
What a fantastic tour! A tour of a tunnel sounds dull, when it is infact quite the opposite. The tour shows the fascinating subterrain workings, design and engineering genius of the mersey tunnels. Driving through Queensway / Birkenhead tunnel as many of us locals do, you do not even begin to comprehend what a marvel it truly is. From the beautiful art deco egyptian style George's dock building to the huge fans that push the air through the airway which you walk on the tour below the road deck into Central avenue. Visting the control room, preserved perfectly since the day it was last used and down to the refuges, which are used in case of emergencies and I was completely ignornant of, not knowing what was behind those green doors in the tunnel. I will drive through the tunnels everytime from now on, not moaning about the cost of the toll but with a new found awe for where I am and how it is made possible. A massive big thank you to our guides Ryan and Billy, who made the tour a fascinating, informative and very entertaining two hours. A great tour for such a cheap price, I was invited by a friend who received the Gift vouchers for a Christmas present and I will be returning very soon, bringing the whole family with me for my second visit. Mad Day Out Beatles Taxi Tours image
My boyfriend surprised me with this Beatles tour while we were staying in Liverpool for the weekend for my birthday, and it was better than I could ever have expected! The car is amazing, from the colour to the really comfy interior complete with John Lennon cushions no less! Ian is a fantastic host, so knowledgeable and friendly, and I couldn’t recommend the tour highly enough, it really is a must for any Beatles fan. We did the 3 hour tour and it flew by, packing in loads of really special locations like Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields as well as many many more. I want to do it all over again, it’s just the best! Thank you so much Ian for being so accommodating too with us having to push back our booking by a week due to having to self isolate, and for being the number 1 Beatles tour guide in the world! 18. 5.0 Adventure 21 (891 reviews)
    - Canyoning and Ghyll Scrambling, with Mark of Adventure21
Monday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Climbing Tours • Water Sports • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Adventure 21 image
Excellent experience at every stage. The booking was very helpful (it was last minute because of last minute changes forced upon me, but Adventure21 could not be more helpful and had a can do mentality). Finding the meeting point was easy. The prices were competitive (some operators are slightly less expensive but the trip is only an hour and a half, not the 3 hours you get with Adventure21). The equipment was very good (wetsuits, buoyancy aids, waterproof trousers and top, helmet). The locations they use are well chosen: not the small streams you get with other outfitters). Church Beck (near Coniston). The best part was Mark. His passion for his job was that of someone who loved the activity and wanted to share that experience with you. He was friendly, funny, engaging, he had stroppy teenagers excited and adults thrilled. He was an excellent judge of character, pushing everyone to, but not past their limit. My two sons and I had a great time. Of all the things we did on our trip to the Lakes my sons want to do Church Beck again the most. See more..

    - Family friendly, exciting experience
Monday: 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Climbing Tours
Lake District Activities with Lakeland Ascents image
I booked the abseiling for my family, 2 adults and 2 children aged 11yrs and 9yrs. My youngest was very nervous but Si was excellent with him and helped him feel confident and relaxed. Although we were a mixture of abilities between the 4 of us, we all had a fantastic time and all felt like we had a fun, exciting experience! Si was extremely professional and instantly put us at ease (I was a little nervous too), meaning we felt safe and happy to take those steps over the top. We would definitely recommend and will book again with Lakeland ascents when we visit the Lake District next time. See more..
  20. 5.0 Keswick Adventures (694 reviews)
    - Perfect afternoon: fun, exhilarating, informative.
Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Climbing Tours • Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Keswick Adventures image
We did the paddle boarding on Derwent water, up the upper Derwent river, and jumping off a bridge. It helped that the weather was very good, but due to tour leader Jaye’s gentle and supportive instruction it was a perfect afternoon. He pointed out fish and birds and landforms, told stories about the area and his life, and his appreciation of his job and the area made it a special experience. Jumping in to the cool river Off the bridge was so much fun. We recommend booking this trip in the morning as car parking space by the lake is harder in the afternoon. See more..

  28. 4.0 Blackpool Pleasure Beach (14.3k reviews)
    - Pricey but fun. Food policy is very restrictive.
Monday: Spent More than 3 hours Amusement & Theme Parks
    Blackpool Pleasure Beach image
My son and I visit each year and the crowd levels seem back to normal this year, compared to the last couple which was nice. We had a great day, got on all the rides we wanted too. We were on the park from 10am to 6pm and it flew over. We had lunch at Burger King which was ok. Staff were all great and queue times were not too bad for anything. M only niggles this year where people who were smoking or vaping in the queues, that was uncomfortable and staff didn't say anything to people. I thought it was a no smoking park/designated areas to smoke etc. The operator on the grand national letting the people in front of us know he didn't care that they were not filling the trains up full as he gets paid regardless of how many people get on the ride. The other niggle is the turnstile at every ride entrance. I could understand this when the park was free for anyone to walk in, but now surely this needs scrapping. I know people can buy spectator tickets but it hardies seems worth it for the trouble these barriers cause. They slow the ride loading times down considerably, some were not working and some we were asked by the operators to press a button on the back of the turnstile to let the next person in as the scanners weren't working. Get shot of them, charge one price for entry and the ride load time efficiency would shoot up. Overall a great, good value day out though. We'll be back next year no doubt. Oh, Valhalla still not reopened either, guess we'll have to wait until 2023 to try that :) See more..
