We have really enjoyed the explanation and visit to the cave, just 10 minutes walking, in this small village. It takes worth to getting to Sotres just to visit this local cheese producer, specially Cabrales. Impressive views. Also a starting point for hikings. See more..

Decidimos visitar con cita previa la auesería por la curiosidad de ver cómo se hacían los tipos de queso que ofrecían y la experiencia NO PUDO SER MEJOR. Nos recibieron unas preciosas cabritas en la puerta que no pudieron ser más tiernas y graciosas. Más adelante los dueños nos mostraron el establo donde había un montón de ovejas y cabras. Pudimos interactuar con ellas, darlas de comer, cogerlas en brazos, y todo esto mientras nos explicaban un montón de cosas sobre su alimentación, gestación, forma de vida, y tipos de queso que se eleboran con cada una. Al final nos dieron a degustarlos (buenísimos, nos llevamos uno) junto con unos culines de sidra (también producida por ellos) en un entorno familiar y muy cercano. The viewpoint, which is marked on Google Maps, is located just above Asiego village. It offers great views across the valley to Naranjo de Bulnes, one of the most distinctive and photographed peaks in the Picos de Europa. It is particularly worth visiting just before sunset when the low light clips the tops of the mountains. There is an information board which points out the peaks which can be seen on the horizon. Used this tour company for a 12-day self-guided walking tour of the Picos de Europa and an 8-day self-guided walking tour of the Ordesa Valley. I could not have been happier with the results. They provide very detailed walking route notes as well as complete GPS tracks for all the hikes. Made it very easy to follow the routes. They offer options on almost all the routes to make them as easy or as challenging as you want. All the pick-ups and transfers were on time, and the luggage always made it to the next hotel. Hotels are 3-stars or equivalent, this being rural Spain, so no air conditioning and I would not recommend doing these tours in the middle of the summer. I did these in September and the weather was great. I am also vegetarian and they arranged this at all hotels where meals were included. Had a minor issue at one hotel, but I placed a call to S-cape and they handled it immediately with the hotel, and I had no further issues. I thought their prices were very reasonable and they are fluent in English and Spanish. All my vacations are hiking tours, and I do at least two per year, and S-cape stacked up as one of the best tour companies I have dealt with. I met other people on the trails doing a similar tour, and I could see that their tour company was using S-cape as the local sub-contractor. I would suggest going right to the source (S-cape) and cut the middle man out. See more..

We visited here on our first day in the area of Arenas de Cabrales and really enjoyed the tour. We arrived at 11am and the guide let us know that she was waiting till 1110am to start so we could have a look around the animals including the calves while we waited. The whole production of the cheese is really interesting as this ‘factory’ is so automated. The tour guide Andrea spoke excellent English and coped really well with the questions both in Spanish and English so we really felt like we did not miss out - I suspect it made her have to rush a little but she managed it beautifully. We decided to do this walk up to Bulnes with our two children aged 8 and 11. It was a wonderful walk! I am scared of hights but managed it. The good thing with this route is that it isn’t steep all the way, most of the route is kind. The Children had no problem walking this route. It can be very hot during summer so bring lots of water and wear good hiking shoes. Bulnes is a charming little village. I will recommand tapas at one of the small restaurants there. See more..

The day before we did the populair Ruta del Cares. But personally I prefer the Ruta del rio Casano. It's a gentle walk with more greenery and old gnarled trees along the river. It has a fairy tale kind of vibe , very beautiful. Sometimes you can hear the cow bells in the distance. Rocky, muddy and somewhat slippery path. Make sure you have the right shoes. There's almost no info about how to get there. Put " La Molina" in your GPS. This small road is easy to miss. Follow the small road till you reach a tiny parking space where you're not allowed to park. Park your car next to the road. There's only space for about 6 cars. You'll see a sign "casano" on one of the houses. If you want to follow the trail along the river, take the path on the right just BEFORE the first rock bridge. See more..

The viewpoint is easily accessed as it is located on the main road just outside Poo de Cabrales - well worth stopping off here on a clear day, even if just passing through. If you have a little more time, the Mirador Echevarria Pedro Udaondo located a bit higher up the valley above Asiego is also well worth visiting for a similar but more expansive vista. See more..

Si estás en la zona de Cabrales, tienes que ir a este mirador y obtendrás unas vistas impresionantes de las montañas que rodean a Berodia.
El Mirador está entre los ríos Casaño y Mirón, si bien no se pueden ver desde el mirador.
La carretera de acceso es bastante sinuosa y estrecha, pero sólo son 2,5 kilómetros desde la carretera general. See more..

Okay, you’re only going to spend an hour or so here, but it’s only a few Euros for the privilege. The tour of the cave itself is only in Spanish, but non-Spanish speakers can get a tablet with an English guide that’s easy to follow. The tour ends with a video (that may have been better at the start) with English subtitles, and a taste of cheese & cider. A modest attraction, five stars in that context, although I’ve knocked a star off for the toilets being out of action. See more..

So I tried using their app. After three attempts, not been able to pay and re-entering All information requested We got our tickets. Once at the entry site, with very limited parking, you take a 2 plus kilometers ride to the village on top. Nothing to see during the ride since you are in a tunnel. See more..

Es una pena que este hermoso palacio no esté abierto al público y rehabilitado su interior para poder admirarlo.
Sólo podemos verlo por fuera, y la verdad es que impresiona por su grandiosidad.

Lo mejor de esta pequeña Iglesia es su situación, en lo alto de una pequeña colina, desde donde podemos ver todo el pueblo, así como las montañas que lo rodean.
Estaba cerrada por lo que no pudimos verla por dentro.
Tiene una torre coronada por un reloj que se ve desde lejos, pero lo que más me sorprendió fue que tenga pegada junto a una de sus paredes, una casa bastante moderna que no sé si es del párroco o cómo pudieron autorizar su construcción. See more..
