   Two days in the Sahara desert, starting from Foum Zguid, with our guide Mustapha. We had a Jeep to cross the desert, and stopped in two nomad camps to stay overnight. Every night there was a special dinner with a wonderful tajine, mint tea and songs around the fire. Berber tent were clean and comfy. We also made sand boarding and a camel excursion through the desert. Seeing the sun raise and set on the top of a dune is the best experience in my life! Highly recommended! Thank u Mustapha!    How can you describe something that is indescribable? Three days, three nights in the middle of the desert. Stunning dunes. An unbelievable silence. Night sky. Tuareg music by the campfire.    Der Nationalpark d'Iriqui liegt im Süden Marokkos, an der Grenze zu Algerien.
   
   Wir folgten, vom Erg Chegaga kommend, der alten Paris-Dakar-Piste über den Lac Iriqui, einen Salzsee, der seit vielen Jahre ausgetrocknet ist. (Wenn ich das richtig in Erinnerung habe, hängt das mit einem Staudamm-Bau zusammen, der vor einigen Jahrzehnten zur Stromerzeugung erbaut wurde und der den südlichen Teil Marokkos und damit auch den zuvor hier vorhandenen See Iriqui trockenlegte.)
   
   Dieser trockene Salzsee ist phänomenal. Man steht auf einer riesigen Fläche aufgeplatzter Erde. So weit das Auge reicht nichts als eine topfebene Fläche. Ab und zu eine Spiegelung, eine Fata Morgana, die tatsächlich vorgaukelt, am Horizont Wasser zu sehen. Und ansonsten - nichts. Wow!
   Das muss man einfach mal gesehen haben. Ein Anblick, den man nie vergisst!
   
   Etliche Kilometer weiter befindet sich eine Stelle, an der Fossilien zu finden sind.
   Unser Guide führte uns über ein Feld mit flachen Steinen - und goß dann Wasser aus einer Trinkflasche über einen der Steine. Da zeichneten sich die eingeschlossenen Fossilien dann besonders gut ab und wir staunten über die Vielzahl an Fossilien. Eigentlich waren an jeder Stelle und in jedem Stein Versteinerungen zu finden. Faszinierend.
   Den "Trick" mit dem Wasser sollte man unbedingt ausprobieren: Es ist erstaunlich, wie konturenreich die Fossilien dann hervortreten. See more..

   Visited Tata on last March and this February and formed two different impressions. In March it was bustling, this time very subdued. I was told there was a strong Saharan wind and everyone kept indoors. I loved the town on both occasions. the square provides a little oasis and there are several cafes to chance.    A 6-7 km au nord de Tata au pied d'un village inhabité il faut descendre dans le lit de l'oued asséché. Il y a une vaste zone où l'on peut se garer et un sentier pour descendre.
   Les grottes sont largement ouvertes sur l'oued avec des effets de lumière en fonction de l'heure de la journée. Certaines ont des stalactites et des formations géologiques sans doute dues à l’érosion de la rivière et du vent qui pourraient passer pour des sculptures. See more..
