I have dived with B&J on Tioman several times. This latest trip again confirmed that they are one of the most professional dive operations on the island: good for both experienced leisure divers like myself, and for learners from beginners upwards to much higher levels. Their facilities, equipment and operations are all of good quality, and well run. And their staff, from owners Ben and Martin downwards, are friendly and generally a delight to deal with. A further bonus is that they have what is now virtually the only decent bar on the island, right beside the dive centre and their adjacent Tioman Dive Resort. The latter is also a good place to stay at, with well maintained quality rooms (though there are other cheaper options nearby if you are on a budget). See more..

We really enjoyed diving with Blue Heaven Divers in July 2022. Aki and Aiko are very kind and attentive. Aki takes care to guide very small groups (just us two and our friend) and is very careful underwater and takes time to make clear briefings and safety checks before dives. We also enjoyed detailed explanations on fishes and corals after the dives and precise diving tips (breathing techniques, buoyancy, efficiency with fin movements and so on). Gear was in very good condition. Aki brought us to the nicest spots which were a delight to dive, special bonus with a guitar shark on tiger reef, and a many spotted sweet lip juvenile jiggling in one tree bay, and so many other things. I did my Open Water with Tioman Dive Centre and would highly recommend anyone else that is planning to get their diving license to go with them. Amir was our instructor and he is super patient with us and make sure he spend equal amount of time to each student and giving advises on where to improve during the entire course. Also, Amir is a funny guy where he would crack jokes during courses so that we wouldn't feel nervous during the course and even though he is a funny person, he can be strict while diving because safety comes first :) Besides that, other staff (Mel, Arie, SImon, Rosie and etc) were friendly as well where they make sure we felt comfortable during our dive course. Juara Scuba Diving is the perfect place to get SSI certified or to book a dive trip, and Faza was an absolutely outstanding instructor. Our instructor had an amazing ability to be incredibly calm and encouraging as you take your first breath underwater. You feel completely safe with him below water. Had a SMASHING GREAT time with Salang Bay Divers! I did my leisure dives while my partner took his OW. Special thanks to Tash for patiently answering all my enquires and planning for my trip for me! I’m so glad I went ahead with them cause they were all very hospitable, experienced & AWESOME! To DM Ash, thanks for looking out for me - he was the DM throughout my 8 leisure dives and I felt completely safe with him. And Lee too, the quiet but really nice Rock & roll guy. We felt like they treated us like family and my partner was actually really happy with his Instructor Sonia as well! First time even trying diving and went ahead to take the open water certificate. A very memorable and enjoyable experience provided by the dive centre indeed. The boss was pleasant and accommodating to my friends and myself. During the whole course of certification, the instructor Affan Zanila was patient and comprehensive on the knowledge and skills transfer. Grahame had amazing patience and professionalism throughout our course, especially for my parents who are hitting their 50s. We were originally only doing our open water course but after 4 days of great learning from Grahame, we decided to extend a few more days to do the advance course as well. It was a complete joy to dive with An Ng and Amigo Dive Center! The last time I experienced such non-stop action shooting critters was at Lembeh. I honestly suspect An has macro contact lenses in her eyes. On many occasions it takes me a few awkward seconds before seeing the critters she sees. Each time, I squeal with delight underwater upon seeing those beautiful creatures. She also showed me three species of Shaun the Sheep, which I have looked in vain for years! Thank you! PS: Really appreciate the help that Jimmy Cheong gave throughout the dives. With him and An on the boat, there was a lot of 安全感! This is a quick, easy walk, along a very well trodden path, a couple of hundred metres from the main road down into Juara. It is marked, but you have to be looking for it - very old wooden sign. Lovely to walk in the river and swim in the pool. Fairly busy - a constant stream of people whilst I was there for an hour or so. Nic, James, and Jeff of Eco Divers provided a really first-rate diving experience. They were professional and friendly and really tailored the course to the students' needs. I did the Open Water Diver certification during the tail end of monsoon season, so my friend and I were the only ones in our course. The instructors made us feel comfortable, ensured our safety, and helped us relax and enjoy ourselves as we explored the new world of scuba diving. Not only that, but they had a great sense of humor and were always willing to advise us about what to eat, drink, and see on the island. The center's location is excellent, as well. Fantastic snorkeling trip for me and my sister. Megat was our snorkeling instructor and he really focuses on safety so I felt very secure as I was snorkeling with my sister who doesn't swim very much. He was with us the whole time and we had a lovely time viewing all the coral and tropical fish surrounding Tunamaya Resort. Also had a chance to meet John, the head of the diving center. What a unique and entertaining character. Not only is he a veteran diving coach, but he's also extremely warm and friendly and I now consider him a friend. 100% recommend this team. We were brought here by our resort (Aman Tioman) recreation centre staff and were given around 40 minutes to snorkel around this island. Having seen the online reviews of this place, we expected this to be one of the nicest spots for snorkeling and were not disappointed. We came on two separate days, one in the morning and afternoon. Both days there was much fish and marine life in the surrounding areas. This is the best spot to swim among live corals and small fish, of the 3 snorkelling places the staff took us to (the others being Marine Park and Nemo Reef) It can be quite a popular snorkeling spot and hence the area can get crowded with snorkelers and with small boats parked in the area. The spot is easy to snorkel with the currents not strong. But we were informed not to go near to the rocks due to the presence of sea urchins on the sea floor close to the island. See more..

If you fancy a rainforest experience, this is a good, challenging little hike. Takes about 40 minutes each way. Starts just by the turtle project place, and follows infrequent orange markers to direct you. You have to crawl at times and make your way by a few narrow rock spaces, pull yourself up a couple of slippery slopes using roots and vines, but it is all good stuff. There is also a thick black pipe that runs from the river, so you can use that as a guide too. Got to be careful, and be willing to turn back if it gets a bit much. I later heard that there is another, simpler and easier way to the falls, that is reached by passing the signposted way, walking further along the beachfront. Will have to ask locally about this. I did this way twice, morning and late afternoon, having enjoyed the spirit of it so much. See more..
