This beautiful beach is a hidden gem in Kuantan. While swimming with friends, a sea otter appeared on the shore and swam towards us before diving. It was amazing as this was the first time we had seen a sea otter on a Kuantan beach! See more..
  2. 4.5 Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah (72 reviews)
    - A building worthy of being a state mosque
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah image
This mosque is the state mosque of Pahang. It's a nice looking Malaysian Modernist style building with a large baby blue onion dome at the centre with four smaller domes surrounding it. At the corner the building are four high towers (possibly they're minarets. There was a lecture going when I visited, but the caretaker was kind enough to let me in anyway. The caretaker was kind enough to give me a tour of the inside and a clock to wear to look inconspicuous. Which was great as the inside has some great tiles and stained glass windows. A building worthy of being a state mosque. See more..

Wonderful people with patients. It was fun, cheap and everyone can do it. It took me a whole day but I had to start over again because I spilled wax all over the painting. They just gave me a new canvas and encouraged me to do it again and better this time and I did! See more..

  9. 4.0 Taman Esplanade (40 reviews)
    - Nice view but terrible parking
Spent 1-2 hours Piers & Boardwalks • Parks • Playgrounds
    Taman Esplanade image
The breeze from the river is cooling and the sunset view is beautiful. There’s a small cluster of stalls selling Malay food. Some people are fishing along the esplanade, the river must be bountiful because I saw three birds of prey soaring and diving along the river. An observation tower is currently under construction. Once completed, it will surely attract more people to the esplanade. There’s definitely potential to develop this place into an attraction, but parking needs to be improved to handle more visitors. - bukit gambang water park - great place for kids
Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Water Parks
    Bukit Gambang Water Park image
Went to bukit gambang water park but did not stay at the resort. Park was fun although a bit small and not too many rides. However the rides are longer than most other water parks. Park is surrounded by trees which provides lots of shades on a hot sunny day. It's a good place for family to hang out although its a long drive from kuala lumpur. Another good point is the cashless concept - you need not carry any cash to buy food or rent floats. Just top up your card at entrance and refunds will be given if you still have balance when you leave the park. Would go there again with family. See more..
  16. 3.5 East Coast Mall (163 reviews)
    - Average mall
    Spent 1-2 hours Shopping Malls
    East Coast Mall image
There have a few entrance to the mall, unfortunately there was no security guard checking visitors' temperature if you are coming from the basement parking. However we have to give the basement parking a thumb-up because of its conveniences. The shops so-so only with typical fast-food chains but very few. We enjoyed going to the supermarket (Aeon); not too crowded. Other than that, nothing much to see and buy. See more..

    Gua Charas image
Its a cave. Believe there are big renovation and digging. The cave is deep through inside once climb up to the top. And walk through the staircase down to the walk way. The are sounds of bat. Just the smell is rather strong. Going deeper, and deeper. A sleeping buddha statue lies on the altar. You may grab 3 pcs of joss sticks and pray, when you're done, just insert into the censer as respect. You may need to walk slowly and no shouting as its a shrine after all. The walk way could be quite slippery. Watch out there! See more..

There are many people around during the evenings. Most of them were either Jogging , taking a stroll and a large number of them were involved in the free Zumba lessons offered. The Jogging route roughly measured 1-1.3 km/ round. It was a great experience ! See more..

    Tasik Chini image
There are two places to stay around Tasik Chini, the resort (haven't been there) and Rajan Jones Guesthouse. We stayed at the guesthouse for only RM 35 pp/per night including breakfast and dinner. A lunch is RM 5 extra. You can call the guesthouse at 017-913-5089. Unfortunately Rajan Jones has passed away but his lovely wife takes care of the place now. She can arrange boating trips (RM 100 per boat 3hours). The lake is still a nice place to visit although there are not so many flowers anymore. Also the Kampung of Orang Asli is worth a visit (combine it with the boat trip). We stayed one night. See more..
