   Absolutely fantastic time in Sandakan and the Kinabatangan River with Adrian!!!! Couldn’t have crammed more incredible sights into 3-1/2 days if we had tried and Adrian was the best guide ever. We loved him!! Professional, knowledgeable, personable, funny and very client-focused. We saw Orangutans in the wild!!! The Bilit Rainforest Lodge was the perfect place to kick back between boat rides and treks, and it set a very high bar for the rest of our trip through Borneo. See more..

   If you are looking for luxury this isn't the place for you but if you want a wonderful wildlife experience with expert guides and great staff then stay here. Azlan our guide spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge. The wildlife spotting was excellent and the staff were the friendliest People you could wish to meet.    We stayed for 2 nights and did a number of boat trips - all amazing - and the nature guides were friendly, very knowledgable and great at spotting wildlife. The rooms at the lodge were fine and the food (buffet style) was great. Staff were lovely. Recommend the night cruise for seeing wildlife! See more..

   We visited early August 2022 and was great. Google says permanently closed. This is not true. Greated by a troupe of monkeys and plenty of bats in the caves. The coffins are wonderfully carved in the top cave. Definitely stop here if you are going past in the Sandakan to Lahad Datu (or from a river cruise on Kinabatang) See more..
