The name of India's tiniest Union Territory means "100,000 islands" in Maylayam, the local language; but in truth, there are 36 isles in this archipelago, 10 that are inhabited. In these palm-laden coral islands, a northern extension of the Maldives, diving reigns supreme. Both Kavaratti and Kadmat have full-service scuba facilities, and the latter also has a center for kayaking, water skiing, yachting and wind surfing. Teardrop-shaped Bangaram woos couples with its uninhabited white sands.

On our Lakshadweep 3 Island trip of Samudram package by MV Kavaratti ship..we visit Minicoy as 2nd Island after Kalpeni.. After disembarkment from MV Kavaratti..by boat we arrive on Minicoy jetty..then first place we visit Minicoy Lighthouse..360 degree panoramic view from the top of the lighthouse of Arabian sea n full Island is just mesmerising.. Next we arrive at Minicoy beach resort and get welcome with welcome dring..white sand and transparent blue waves is like a wallpaer frame,,just like to be a part of a dream frame.. Proceed hurry for registered for SCUBA,,and shortly went for it..it indeed a wonderful experience..with lots of corals and colorful fishes..then getting back with kayaking on sea.. Minicoy have a long flat belt of sandy not deep wated..lagoon type..perfect for sea bath.. After all watersports activity..we have a wonderful lunch and then make a long walk along beach..experiencing a magical coral beach during our walk.. After getting back..we proceed for experiencing village life of island..we went to Village community center, get wonderful evening local sweet n snax and get very well description of village panchayat system..also get privileged to see Jahadhoni..the racing boat..a winner.. After having a good sundown time at beach..we proceed to jetty to get return to our ship.. Three island we visited in out trip..according to us..Minicoy is best..and love to be here..to spend some days only here.. See more..

If you are true lover of nature must not miss this. All Irelands Kalpeni, Aggati and Minicoy are superb. Samudram is well organised and managed. Clean cabins, Veg/Non-Ceg/Jain food options are available. Tea/Coffee with Sugar or without Sugar are available. Boarding on first day is tiring, no other activity. Second day onwards are great. All Crüe members are awesome, great, very polite. At each Ireland you have washroom, you will be given clean towels, soaps. You will get guides at time of doing activities. We also got very cooperative our co-travellers, all were very good, supportive. We have seen people of all age say from 1-75 years. No much walking but yes need to climb stairs in ship. Watching Sunrise, Sunset and Dolphins in green water oh awesome, unforgettable. See more..

We booked our trip to Lakshadweep through Lakshadweep Yatra Holidays and Mr Altaf charted out the best itinerary for 3 nights and 4 days. He also helped us in getting the entry permits. The cottages are very clean and well maintained. Sahana and her team cooked delicious veg food and took care of all our needs. Kasim - our guide to Kalpitti island showed us around with lot of enthusiasm. The people here are very kind and helpful. We would love to come back again for another relaxing vacation. We visited during Xmas holidays in Dec 2021 and absolutely loved it. It is a lagoon so it is shallow and perfect for swimming. The water is crystal clear and you can see turtles very near to the beach. It is a small island and you can explore the whole island within 1 hour. If you go to the other end of the island, you can literally walk 500 m from the beach that makes it a family friendly beach. There are many water activities that you can do here such as scuba, Snorkelling, glass bottom boat, kayaking, etc. You can see live corals here, which is difficult to find in most beaches. Do watch out for bioluminescence at night time (after 9 PM). See more..

Kavaratti island is a beautiful lagoon with clear aquamarine waters. The Paradise Island Hut is a Govt. run resort with Water sports, like scuba kayaking and snorkeling, and a great view. We stayed for 4 nights. Food was homely and decent. The staff were very friendly and they helped us with each one of our concerns. It was Ramadan time and some sports staff were unavailable,still they arranged Scuba for us upon special request. Visited the place for open water diving course, first look you will fall in love with it. We travelled from Kochi to Kadmat by MV Lagoon ship, new ship and good comfortable journey. Food served on board was great. Once you land in Kadmat (you have to reach jetty by small boats) its blue lagoon all around is out of the world experience. Island is small and narrow, its long about 10km. We stayed with SPORTS accommodation on one side of island. Good accommodation, once you reach water, you won't feel like coming back. We went for PADI diving its was out of the world. I recommend all Indians, to visit this beautiful Islands. Word of cautions, no alcohol, no eating joints, no night life. Pure nature lover paradise. Pitti is a small island very close to Kalpenni island which is reachable by small boat, and it takes only 5-10 minutes to reach it, one of the best place for Snorkelling and Kayaking, pleasant place to enjoy. We have seen some colourful birds in this beautiful place, we went there on 14 December 2015 during our Samudram sports package which is one of the best tour of our lifetime. The visit to Marine Aquarium and Marine museum is an after lunch event here at Kavaratti.. The Aquarium is good..with varity of colorful fishes..display of some corals may be additional attractive.. The Marine Museum have a good collections, but maintenance is poor, the skeleton of Blue Whale is in endengered state..need some good professional touch touch to maintain the museum.. The Shark Pool is a good concept, but here also need to have some more fish varity .. Overall a good place to visit..to get in touch of Marine science n culture of Lakshadweep.. See more..

We had booked with Mr Muhammad Shakeel of Lakshadweep Tours & Travels a week stay at the Bangaram Island Resort in last March. When paid also in full (what a mistake!) after reception of invoice in December 2019. Due to the covid crisis we were prevented to reach India and therefore we had to cancel everything. I inmediately called Mr Muhammad Shakeel to inform about this and he assured me that our money would be refunded. We are waiting since then. Not only Mr Muhammad Shakeel has not refunded our money, he also does not react to my emails nor to my calls. We stronly advise any person from using the servics of Lakshadweep Tours & Travels. I understand that the covid crisis has been a big stroke for the tourism companies worldwide (I myself am our operator) but there is a limit to decency. Not even bothering to reply to my queries... this shows simply how less this man cares for his customers. Needless to say when we manage to book the beautiful Laccadive islands (something which was in our bucket list long time ago) we won't do it with Lakshadweep Tours & Travels.
