-Perfect day tour with Tocaya
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Multi-day Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Private Tours • Day Trips
This was just an awesome tour! Efrain is a wonderful guide who really knows the area. I'm so glad I did this tour rather than try to explore the desert on my own. He took me to all the highlights of both the red and grey desert in a day, a visit to the astronomical observatory, and even a visit to his beautiful family farm! Efrain was very easy to work with and helped answer all my questions before I arrived. He's friendly and speaks perfect English. I hope to work with him again on a future tour! I would highly recommend working with Efrain if you're visiting this area! See more..
- 5.0 Ernestours (6 reviews)
-Wonderful guide for varied trip around San Agustin
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Eco Tours • Archaeology Tours
Hired Erenstours for 2 days for a trip around San Agustin. They worked with us to combine visits to the archaeological sites with some other sites that we were interested in, including a coffee plantation and a banana fiber weaving artist. Good car and safe driver. Maria was a walking encyclopedia for the area and made the trip much more interesting than if we had done it by ourselves. We did the trip in Spanish. HIghly recommended. - 4.5 Desierto de la Tatacoa (816 reviews)
-Amazing!
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
It’s an amazing experience. We went for stargazing and it worth the long travel by moto from medellin thru la tatacoa (11 hours long). If you are traveling by moto, you can use either ferry you prefer (the one in the little canoas with motor in the malecón in villavieja arriving to aipe and viceversa) or the big ferri in las Marias (aipe) arriving to la Victoria (in villavieja), this last one is the one for cars too. It’s an adventure trip, so be prepared, or if you prefer nice and smooth routes, take the option by neiva (+2 hours to the trip). I recommend the astrosur observatory (tatacoa.astronomía on Instagram) the professor is the best, he is an astronomer so the talk is great and the telescopes are dope. Doing the walk around the Desert I recommend to hire one of the oficial guides (30k to 90k pesos depending if you want to do both parts of the desert (red and gray) or only one, it worth the money. Very good food (Rincon del cabrito is great) and the people is super nice See more..

- 4.5 Puracé National Natural Park (154 reviews)
-extremely lovely places to visit but poor transport services
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM National Parks
A great thing about travelling in Colombia has been discovering the remote and spectacular countryside with its diversity of flora and fauna. After 2 days in Popayan I was ready to experience the Parque Natual de Purace but getting there was presenting problems. I decided to hire a professional guide who provided excellent service and the day was spent care-free enjoying the drive up through several ecosystems to the Parque where we experienced hot springs, condor sightings, waterfalls and a never ending display of impressive vegetation. The drive takes you high up in the central cordillera of Colombia over some bumpy roads, overlooking incredible landscapes. At the top is a modest parks office where you pay your entrance and go on an orchid walk or a walk to the hot springs. In April, it can rain and it's quite cool so wear boots and take a jacket. You should also take money for lunch. The guide, Cristian Eduardo Pipamija will also take you to for a soak in the hot springs in nearby Coconco if you like. He speaks just a little English so it will help if you have a moderate level of Spanish to coordinate services and negotiate the price as well as take advantage of his knowledge. Ask for his card at the Information centre by Parque Caldas. Next time I want him to guide us around Macizo while it is still pristine, undiscovered, precious. Please contact me for details as I could go on for pages! If I were really selfish I would keep this all to myself. The Park is just being discovered by the outside world and it won't stay this unspoiled forever. Take advantage and go now! See more..
- 4.5 La Pelota - Estatuas A Color (75 reviews)

La Pelota y el Purutal, una visita que no puedes dejar para después. - 4.5 Parque Arqueológico Alto de los Ídolos (60 reviews)
-Stunning views
Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
After some walking you get to the top of a hill which has some neat statues and even better views: you can see all the hills in the region, it’s so quiet and beautiful. In this place you will find the male version of one of the coolest statues which is commonly known as Doble Yo (Double Me) which is the only statue carved in 3D - all the rest of the statues are carved in 2D, only in the front, but the Doble Yo is carved in the front, on the sides and in the back - it’s cool. And when you go to Isnos to the other park where you can enter with the same ticket you payed here, you will find the female version of this statue. See more..
- 4.5 El Salto del Mortino (40 reviews)
-Extreme sports in the middle of natural waterfall
Spent < 1 hour Waterfalls
After doing all the peaceful trekking in Isnos, have a rush of adrenaline in this park, pay about two dollars to enter and you can find some cool places, there’s a pool for kids, a glass viewpoint to see the waterfall, and some viewpoints. But the cool things are canopy (zip lining) which is around 10 dollars and you cross over the gorge - totally awesome. And also, you can take a swing over that waterfall, for about 6 dollars, you enjoy the view and have fun too. There are other attractions for the whole family, this place is visited by families, solo travelers, couples and pretty much anybody, so it can get a bit crowded. There are some food and drink places and there is a parking lot if you go by car. This is on the way from Isnos to San Agusting town. See more..

- 4.5 Green Vacation Colombia (23 reviews)
-Fantastic and not expensive tour
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM City Tours • Cultural Tours • Sightseeing Tours
This tour proceeds in Spanish, but it’s ok since Green Vacation Colombia can speak very slowly and use only simple words so you can understand. It was fun to have time with them. We’ve visited 3 or 4 spots in the desert and took a lot of good pictures. The landscapes near the desert and inside it are really beautiful! Also we’ve been to a local restaurant in the desert where you can have a good lunch for $22,000 COP including a drink. I very recommend this tour. See more..

- 4.5 Parque Nacional Natural Cueva de los Guacharos (11 reviews)
-Great place for serious nature enthusiast with hiking stamina
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
It takes 4-5 hours of muddy hike to get there from the place where the jeep from Palestina drops you off, but it is fully worth it if you are a good hiker and a serious nature enthusiast. The trail to the park is obvious, but can be very muddy in particular before it enters the park at the Cascajosa river, and involves two steep descents and climbs of a total of 500-600 m of altitude. The visitor center, which has clean dorms with clean bathrooms and serves simple food, is at a small clearing in the middle of the forest at 1900 m asl. You can also camp if you have a tent. There are several trails that do not look long on paper (up to 4 km one way), but because of the nature of the trails (ups and downs, mud, crawling over or under logs, wading in the river...) they can take most of the day for a round trip. You are required to have a guide on those trails (except for the access trail), but it makes sense because there is abundance of other, unofficial paths. And the Indio cave is amazing, with lots of fossils embedded in the rock, some nice calcite formation, and several easy to see cave animals. The tour through the cave (again needs a guide, but for a very good reason) takes 3 hours and you emerge at a different exit about 1 km from where you started. You need ankle-high hiking or (preferably) rubber boots (can buy or rent them in Palestina). We stayed four nights and did not have enough. We organized the trip through Fondacion Cerca Viva from Palestina - they are one of the tourist operators listed on the national park website (note that the park administration itself does not seem to accept direct reservations). Very friendly and professional, they arranged everything - jeep to the trail head, a horse from there to carry our luggage, food and board, park entrance and the guide, and I had an impression we paid less than we would have if we paid all these separately. - 4.5 Iglesia Catedral de Garzon (6 reviews)
-Altar asimétrico

- 4.0 Astronomical Observatory Tatacoa (129 reviews)
-Amazing experience
Saturday: Spent < 1 hour Science Museums
Guillermo, the Director and Astronomer, provided an evening both educational and amazing. It’s 2 hours well spent for all. He spoke in Spanish, English and French and played his role extremely well. For the best viewing you must schedule your visit during a new moon phase as the brightness at this time is limited and makes the night sky even more breathtaking. This was the highlight of the trip to Neiva and the Tatacoa. See more..

-Refreshing water and fun, to mitigate the heat
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Water Parks
It is a great water park, the most important in southern Colombia. A slow river, multiple pools (one with waves), extreme water slides. Km15 via Neiva - Yaguará. A shame: poor quality food court... See more..
- 4.0 El Tablón (51 reviews)

Great location on top of a mountain. The hike can be challenging due to altitude and lots of stairs but the view from the top makes it totally worth it See more..
