Powerful river
Just 15 minutes away from San Agustin town, you csn find this amazing natural wonder: the Magdalena river strait. This river is one of the most important in Colombia and it crosses most of the country, in other cities it’s really wide but here you can see it just two meters wide. You can see and hear the power of the river and admire nature.

Worth a quick visit in combination with other attractions
Located 14 km from San Agustin, the site a located just a short distance from the main road. The river is the major system within Colombia and whilst it becomes much wider as it travels through the country, here near the start of its journey, it is a narrow river. We viewed it as part of a day long tour of the outer sites around San Agustin. The main attraction is the 2.5m gap in the rocks that allows water to rush through. Pleasant views up the river and good for a 20 minute visit if in the area. Free to enter.
