  1. 5.0 Bosques de Cocora (1.989 reviews)
    - Wow!!
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
    Bosques de Cocora image
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Pristine views of the Cocora valley, vast glorious landscapes. Family of five with 12 year old son and two teenage daughters. Loved it. Horseback ride through the valley. Safe, although frightening at times. Guide is with you at all times. Suggest booking trip through your hotel as you would spend less and avoid the haggling in the town square. Expect to pay 25k for 90 minutes up to 70k for 3 hour trip. We loved it. Three hours we just enough time for the bottom to tolerate. See more..
  2. 5.0 Paramo Trek Salento (529 reviews)
    - Trekking in Los Nevados National Park
    Sunday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Multi-day Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours
    Paramo Trek Salento image
My wife and I had the pleasure of being masterfully guided by José Romel through the incredible ecosystems of the paramo and high altitude tropics. Our guide shared his deep knowledge of the plants and birds of the area as we hiked for four days through unforgettable landscapes. José made our trip truly special with his care and attention to what we were capable of doing. Staying in different fincas each night we met new campesinos and travelers as we settled in after long days hiking. This was an amazing experience and both José Romel and Paramo Trek deserve credit for a great job! I HIGHLY recommend booking with them to anyone looking to see this beautiful corner of the planet! Best travels! See more..
  3. 5.0 Salento Cycling (438 reviews)
    - Cool Mountainbike Tour to La Carbonera
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Bike Tours • Eco Tours
    Salento Cycling image
If I would've to decide either to walk trough Valle de Cocora or take this Mountainbike Tour to La Carbonera I would always choose this activity! It's a lot of fun to "downhill" this path and besides that the view in La Carbonera is stunning! Besides that the guide tells you a lot about the area and tries to show you some local birds while walking to the picnic spot. Tip: Always go for the afternoon tour if available. You'll be able to see a breathtaking sundown while riding down the mountain and the light is way better for photos of La Carbonera. Feedback: I would recommend changing the picnic chips to some cookies or more fruits and maybe add a cup of coffee as well ;-). See more..
  4. 5.0 Kasaguadua Natural Reserve (344 reviews)
    - Great ecolodge in the middle of the cloud forest

    Kasaguadua Natural Reserve image
Kasaguadua combines conservation of a creek with tropical rain forest and 4Km of trails within mountainous landscape for an unforgettable touristic experience. Check the location map (directions on aerial photography) in the Pictures Gallery. IMPORTANT: the tour starts at 10am from our gate. It lasts a bit less than 2 hours and the fee, to be paid at the entrance, is 30 thousand colombian pesos or 10 dollars. Being close to coffee farms, after the tour you can do any of the coffee tours. 5. 5.0 Caficultur (263 reviews)
    - Do yourself a favor and do this tour
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Cultural Tours • Coffee & Tea Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Caficultur image
Best coffee tour of Colombia. Really if you are looking for something authentic, humble and honest this is the place. You will never find a tour like this in others places. You get to the real story of Colombia with the humility of Don Leo. This is much more than a coffee tour, it's literally a tour of the history of Colombia telling by a real cafetero. The lunch is absolutely delicious. I would also recommend to stay one or few nights there to immerse yourself in this very special and loving family. Do yourself a favor during your trip and go visit them. You can also buy coffee before leaving of course and the coffee is absolutely amazing See more..

    Cabalgatas San Pablo image
Our experience was beyond expected. Oscar (the tour guide) stopped in different parts to take us pictures and also took us to eat in a restaurant where we waited patiently for us. We could gallop for a large part of the route and was incredible. Nice views, well trained horses, excellent tour guide. I recommend this place highly. For the record, we did the 3 hours tour where we crossed several times the river. See more..
  7. 5.0 Globos Colombia (251 reviews)
    - Simply spectacular
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Balloon Rides
    Globos Colombia image
First I have to say that Adri and Amancio are a very professional team of ballooners. It was amazing how fast they set up the balloon, blowing life into it while we were sipping freshly made coffee and buns. Even more amazing was the precision Amancio, the pilot raised and lowered the balloon and finally brought it down to a narrow lane between a lemon plantation. The views from up there were beautiful – we were cruising above the Zona Cafetera, home of plantations of many sorts of fruits and nuts, and coffee, of course. The lush green below and the bright blue above made it an incredible flow. And it was so calm and quiet up there! The temperatures in the sky were not as low as I had expected from my previous experience in Burma and the landing was smooth and nice. And you don’t need to make too many pictures, because they have a camera and a good eye for taking photographs of your unique flight experience. Bravo, equipo, y mil gracias a Adri y Amancio! Well done! Un beso! See more..

  12. 5.0 Cascadas del Rio Verde (82 reviews)
    - Great hike as well as learned about history
Spent More than 3 hours Waterfalls
    Cascadas del Rio Verde image
This was by far one of the best hikes I've done in my life, and I've had my fair shares of hikes. To begin with, it'd be oversimplifying to say it is just a hike. Don Julio is a wonderful person, an expert guide and a great person to explain not just the place you are in but also the history behind. You will find yourself immerse in the stories to give you the background and the context of where you are. The hike lasted roughly 90 minutes to 2 hours. It may seem long, however the reward you get from the beauty of the waterfalls and the nature all around you is priceless. The activism and the goal of Don Julio in terms of preserving the nature and the reserve are really noble. Make sure you bring hiking shoes, as "nike" shoes won't be enough. The hike is for anyone and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone who has interest in nature as well in history. You won't be disappointed! Muchas gracisa Don Julio!! See more..
  13. 5.0 Canopy Los Caracolies (78 reviews)
    - Coffee plantation, bamboo structures, rainforest, what else do you want
Spent 1-2 hours Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Canopy Los Caracolies image
Located in between Montenegro and Armenia. It is a great way to enjoy the landscape. They have several Guadua structures that lead to the zip line platform. They are quite a sight as well as a demonstration of this very versatile and sustainable wood. You would glide over coffee and plantain plants, as well as rain forest. Plenty of birds to see also. The brain behind is a local hero. Cot has a very significant video and picture file that will add to the experience. You can do canopy at several places, but this is one of the best. CostaRica, Mexico, Amazon, each one is different. Well worth the visit. See more..
  14. 5.0 Cabalgatas Caminos y Trochas de Salento (76 reviews)
    - Step into nature with Diego and his horses!
Spent 1-2 hours Horseback Riding Tours
Cabalgatas Caminos y Trochas de Salento image
The whole experience was perfect. After booking the coffee tour with some friends, I decided to go back the next day on a big ride around the valley. The nature, the horses, Diego and his amazing personality will give you a Colombian experience to remember. As a horse enthusiast I really recommend Diego because of the way he treats his animals. But you also don't need experience in horseback riding at all. You can just get on that horse and escape the busy small town whilst learning some things about the Coffee region. If I ever find myself in Colombia again, I will definitely return at least for 2 days to explore the area with Diego some more! See more..

Sunday: 7:30 AM - 9:30 PM Coffee & Tea Tours • Horseback Riding Tours • Day Trips
    Steel Horse Colombia image
We had the very best day doing horse riding with Yvette - thank you so much again :) Steel horse is a very cozy place treating their horses to the best possible and offering personal tours outside of the horse mass tourism you can find in other parts of salento/cocora/finlandia. We explored the nature on small paths, passing rivers and mountains - it was truly amazing :) If you look for horse riding in the area, i can only recommend this tour. You can come for one day (e.g. we came from salento) or you can stay for the Night in Yvettes hostel which I would do next time. Alternative, steel horse also offers multi days trips. See more..

Moderate level of exertion. You're in good hands with the guide. He was a former army ranger, certified in search and rescue. Take fluids and snacks, you'll need them. See more..

  26. 4.5 Ocaso Cafe Tour (930 reviews)
    - Juan Estaban gives a good tour
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Coffee & Tea Tours
    Ocaso Cafe Tour image
I had the tour with Juan Estaban and I enjoyed it. He's knowledgable and has a good dry sense of humor. Very down to earth. I also really like his hair. It's long and wet from the rain and he lets it sit where it wants to , peering out behind wet curly locks of hair while delivering some good one liners. All that is to say that it was a good tour, Juan has good hair, I learned about coffee, picked beans, had some laughs, and drank some good coffee. Thumbs up from this gringo from Colorado, USA. 27. 4.5 Valle del Cocora (678 reviews)
    - A must!
    Valleys
    Valle del Cocora image
A wonderful place, we took the short hike (aprox 30 min to the miradores and less then that for the way back). There is also a longer one that takes about 4 1/2- 6h that can start in rhe same place as the shorter one or you can do it counter clockwise. We took the willys (colorful jeeps from Salento that leave for Cocora Valley every few minutes , basically when they are full) and the ride is about 20 minutes or so to the parking at the starting trail. Be sure to leave BEFORE 8:30 or 9 a.m. because after this hour it gets extremely crowded and the trip might take double the time and the whole place is full of people. See more..
  28. 4.5 Recuca (488 reviews)
    - Very Enjoyable Touristy Coffee Experience
Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Recuca image
We had a great day at Recuca Coffee Farm, a really enjoyable tour given by an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. You learn about Coffee farming in the area and around the world, how it is green snd cultivated. You get to pick some yourself from the plants dressed in local garb! They show you how it's ground and roasted and of course you get to sample the fare! It's very touristy with dressing up and singing and a crazy little model procession, but it all great fun! It really was a great half day. The lunch was included in our package and it was really tasty. See more..
  29. 4.5 Mirador Colina Iluminada (375 reviews)
    - Great view
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Mirador Colina Iluminada image
This is a 360• view point with 4 or 5 floors. There is a story to read on every floor and an explanation of the town you are looking in the horizon. Probably less crowded than Salento’s viewpoint. Too bad weather that day didn’t help to see every side but still worth it. See more..
  30. 4.5 Jardin Botanico del Quindio (375 reviews)
    - Good but constantly being rushed.
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Gardens
    Jardin Botanico del Quindio image
Although we didn’t see hummingbirds, I did see lots of other birds, small mammals, praying mantis, huge spiders all whilst on the nature walk. The butterfly house was the highlight as you get to pick up many different butterflies. My only complaint was that because it’s a guided tour, you feel like you’re being rushed the entire way. Constantly being moved along every section. See more..
