While there are stands of Euphrates Poplars you can go to on this highway just north of here, this ticketed attraction is excellent. There is a lot to see and to photograph, with boardwalks (some still under construction) and many trees and logged trunks to marvel at. You can drive in or be driven around in the park vehicles - you pay the same either way - and stop at the marked attractions and walk a little in among the trees. Watch for rabbits bolting out from resting under the board walks! And ants on the trunks. We didn't ride the scenic train or climb the lookout tower, as we spent all our time in among the trees, logs and stumps. It took almost 3 hours from Korla and we stopped from nang bread from a roadside baker and drove down to the Tarim River after and ate and drank cold beer at a famous noodle shop - posting a photo here.
