Underrated Castle With Fascinating History

Gorgeous, quite large and picturesque castle with unique red-colored roof tiles and walls of pristine white surrounded by vast grounds full of nature, like cherry blossoms and more. Every corner is filled with a fascinating historical tidbit, making it worth going on a tour so you don't miss anything. The history of the castle is interesting and tragic, and it played a surprisingly big role, yet is relatively unknown. Also, definitely stop by the teahouse for a bowl of matcha while walking the grounds!

excellent historical displays and gift shop
like many re-built castles, Tsuruga-jo is a historical museum in a town with a rich samurai history. From the lookout at the top of the Castle, there are panoramic views of the city, and on the way out, a large gift shop. Definitely worth visiting when you are in the city

Another beautiful castle
This was the first place that we visited upon arriving into Japan from Narita. By the time we reached, it was already around 3pm in the afternoon. This castle was a rebuild and not an original castle. But it was still worth a visit as the family is fascinated with Japanese castle. Good and beautiful garden surmising the castle makes it rather picturesque.
