  1. 4.5 Cherating River (155 reviews)
    - A tour not to be missed in Cherating

It was just magical travelling down the river with fireflies blinking along the banks and under a cool starry night. The boatman skillfully steered the boat very near the low-lying branches to attract the fireflies to his special lantern. The ride was around 90 minutes long and we enjoyed every minute of the tour. 2. 3.5 Allan's Water (42 reviews)
    - Quiet and pleasant

There isn't actually that much to do at Allan's Water, and it isn't that big. However, as a civil engineering graduate and history nerd, I looked it up and its story of how an engineer's sustainable energy idea that was ahead of its time was ignored, has a special appeal to me. The place should be greatly appreciated by children, or at least my nieces were obsessed with the ducklings. If you happen to be there when it's raining, the forest mist gives a wonderful ethereal scene over the water. See more..
  3. 3.0 Tasik Chini (20 reviews)
    - Stay at Rajan Jones Guesthouse
    Bodies of Water

There are two places to stay around Tasik Chini, the resort (haven't been there) and Rajan Jones Guesthouse. We stayed at the guesthouse for only RM 35 pp/per night including breakfast and dinner. A lunch is RM 5 extra. You can call the guesthouse at 017-913-5089. Unfortunately Rajan Jones has passed away but his lovely wife takes care of the place now. She can arrange boating trips (RM 100 per boat 3hours). The lake is still a nice place to visit although there are not so many flowers anymore. Also the Kampung of Orang Asli is worth a visit (combine it with the boat trip). We stayed one night. - Good And Chilly Water Fun

This is a river where you can dip yourself in chilly water. You can also rent a float to float around. It could be crowded during public holiday or school holiday. Overall it’s good back to natural. See more..
  5. 3.5 Tasik Biru (7 reviews)
    - Striking colours and contrasts

This is well worth coming to see, incredible colour, but expect a jarring contrast with the quarry at the end of the lake, the runoff from which just drains straight into it. Look in the other direction though and it is beautiful. Don't expect a car park - or barriers from the cliff edge - this isn't an official tourist attraction as a previous review complained about. Glad to have stopped off en route to Mersing and spend fifteen minutes here. See more..
