Allan's Water, Pahang, Malaysia

3.5 (42 reviews) Spent Ranking #8 in Raub District Bodies of Water • Parks

Quiet and pleasant

There isn't actually that much to do at Allan's Water, and it isn't that big. However, as a civil engineering graduate and history nerd, I looked it up and its story of how an engineer's sustainable energy idea that was ahead of its time was ignored, has a special appeal to me. The place should be greatly appreciated by children, or at least my nieces were obsessed with the ducklings. If you happen to be there when it's raining, the forest mist gives a wonderful ethereal scene over the water.

Lovely place to spend the time. You could feed the fish, hear the ducks quacking or take a gentle stroll to the quieter forested area. I'd definitely recommend taking a quiet time just soaking in the vibe here.

A nice time paddling on the lake.
Allan's Water was originally a water collection and supply for British residents during the colonial hill station era. FH Allan, assistant to chief infrastructure engineer FW Mager, was the architect of this project that is named after him Currently, there are some activities such as walk around a portion of the perimeter of the lake as well as paddle boats (RM for 15 minutes) available for hire.
