My visit to Yin Xu was wonderful. Although the people who work there don't speak much English, the English signage around the grounds and in the various museums/exhibits are mostly excellent. It was very quiet when I was there (mid morning), with only a few local tourists walking around. The grounds are also lovely, tranquil and there are also many photo opportunities. I don't remember much in the way of food and drink, so maybe take a snack and a bottleof water. Yin Xu is only a 10 minute cab ride from the centre of town and only cost approx $5AUD. You'll probably need approx 2 hours to see the entire place, however anyone interested in Chinese history and language could easily spend longer there. If you are visiting the Shaolin Temple, you should include a visit to the Songyang Academy, also located in Dengfeng city. Perhaps not as popular and therefore not crowded, this was a tranquil spot to chill out. The buildings are well maintained and there are two astoundingly wonderful 4,500 year old trees. Tales of erudite scholars expounding Confucius philosophy infused the air as we absorbed the placid charm of this academy. I thorough enjoyed the visit of this little gem.See more..

Po Ta is a very interesting pagoda that has not been messed about with to much. It is only really a fraction of its original size, but it is still quite imposing. It sits on the edge of Yu Wangtai Park, which is also well worth visiting, as it has a few temple buildings, an old military installation and some beautiful bridges and forested areas. The pagoda is climbable and the top of the stairs has an interesting domed chamber that is worthy of the climb.See more..

The ancient city of Luoyi is well worth visiting, It contains a certain Luoyang culture, ancient-type buildings (but many likely rebuilt), beautiful eatmosphere and ambiance, spectacular Wenfeng Pagoda light show which is magnificent, colorful, and fascinating, and more.See more..
