    Graslei and Korenlei image
Facing each other across River Leie, both Graslei and Korenlei were part of Ghent’s medieval port but are now tourist hotspots with a high concentration of cafes and restaurants. It is therefore not surprising that this is probably the most vibrant part of the city. Some of the guild houses along Graslei date back to the Middle Ages, further cementing the area’s historical significance. The views of both quays are best appreciated from the St Michael’s Bridge, where you can also capture the 4 spires dominating the city’s skyline. A lovely place to just relax and people-watch while enjoying a chocolate waffle with a local beer at one of the outdoor cafe. See more..

Quai du Rosaire / Rozenhoedkaai image
Rozenhoedkaai (Rosary Quay) is a short stretch of the Dijver Canal situated between Nepomucenus Bridge and the sharp bend in the canal. This is a hugely popular spot for photo taking in Bruges. In addition to the lovely canal, visitors have view of the delightful medieval style buildings large hanging willow and Belfort in the distance. You will see numerous boats passing by at this location as well as large crowds throughout the day as everyone wants to capture this Bruges postcard picture at Rozenhoedkaai. If you want to enjoy the area more peacefully, come first thing in the morning or in the evenings when the crowds leave. It is a lovely place at night as the buildings across the canal are lit up well with good lighting. See more..

    Antwerp's Port image
The port itself is huge but a large part is industrial with many very large wind turbines. These are not around the centre which is the city itself The city part is dominated by the cathedral(currently undergoing renovation). There are many small streets and large market squares around it and a large area shops (including C&A). The port has an international cruise centre and a good few miles of frontage where you can catch water Buses to cross to the other side of the river or go on longer journeys around the port. I found it vary interesting and varied and unusual. See more..
