  5. 4.5 Anfiteatro (2.644 reviews)
    - Spectacular situation between land and sea
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings
    Anfiteatro image
I can see why this is the most visited site in Tarragona. Interesting ruins and a good audio guide. There is something special about the situation so close to the sea. Ask about a ‘combination’ ticket if you are visiting other historical sites in Tarragona. I only found out about this later as it was not mentioned by the staff. A new access is being constructed which looks as if it will give a spectacular approach to the amphitheater. A good way to get a bird’s eye view of the site is to visit the rooftop bar of the nearby Imperial Tarraco hotel. See more..

    Turo Seu Vella image
Driving in to Lleida u cannot miss it. Standing high and proud on top of the highest hill of the city is the Turo Seu Vella. The complex itself is also wonderful. The cloister is still in a very good shape. The old catedral still has beautiful 13th century frescoes and there are the very pretty old gates on the site. If you are not really into history the way up is still very rewarding as you will have fantastic views over the whole town. See more..

I was on a trip to Barcelona and discovered this amazing place. The view is incredible. I unfortunately missed the sunset, but it was still very beautiful. Must-see for the sightseeing fans, it was one of the best I got to see in BCN. I would recommend taking the 22 bus from Plaza Catalunya, it stops near the top, you just have to walk a little. See more..
  9. 4.5 Circ Roma (873 reviews)
    - Vast circuits
    Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
    Circ Roma image
Built under Emperor Domitian towards the end of the 1st century CE it is a vast games extent. Horse racing and other races took place in front of spectators numbering around twenty thousand. It continued to host games until the 5th century. We are fortunate that it is so well preserved. Walking around some of the excavated circuits is testament to its size in its heyday. Many artefacts from the time are displayed. Statuary, sarcophagi and other funerary items are great; a funerary stela has a legend known as the Eutyches Inscriptions. Ascending to the top level we had tremendous vistas over the city including fine panoramas of the Cathedral. See more..

    - Great religious complex and fantastic visit!
    Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Monuments & Statues • Churches & Cathedrals
Reial Monestir De Santes Creus image
Reial Monestir de Santes Creus is one of three Cistecian Abbeys located in the region (Tarragona and Lleida Province), in the South of Catalonia. It was built in the 12th Century and it was the Royal Pantheon of the Kingdom of Catalono-Aragonese crown until 14th Century, when the pantheon go to Santa Maria de Poblet Monastery. Nowadays it is a religious building, but there is not monks from Mendizabal Desamortization in 1835. It was a lovely visit, especially for historic-lovers. In fact, you can see the main church and a lot of places like the church, the cloister or a part, which is in nowadays in Ruins, but from here you can see very nice views of the main complex. Also, you can see a very nice fountain in cloister, some corridors or big and impressive rooms. Really a fantastic visit. A top in the region.
