This wonderful garden was landscaped in a setting of great beauty on top of a cliff with breath-taking views over the sea, and it is a fine specimen of the spirit that animated the Noucentista movement in Catalonia - an early twentieth-century movement for intellectual and aesthetic renewal that found a distinguished spokesman in the writer Eugeni d'Ors. The Santa Clotilde gardens were designed in the manner of the dainty yet austere gardens of the Italian Renaissance by Nicolau Rubió i Tuduri at the age of twenty-eight, when he was still brimming over with admiration for his master in the art of landscape gardening, Forestier. We have holidayed in Blanes for many years now and every time we go we always plan a visit to the gardens. It is an absolutely stunning place. Would highly recommend a visit. You can catch the little train at the main roundabout by the rock. Buses run quite regularly and are reasonably priced too. On the way up to the gardens you have amazing views down over Blanes. You can see for miles on the way up. I really enjoy looking down over the harbour at the yachts. See more..

It is a very beautiful place to see different types of plants mixed with some sculptures. It is higly recommended to visit during spring, whit flower blooms and the weather is still nice (not so hot). The views of the mediterranean sea are outstanding and the collection is interesting. What I missed the most is a more technical explanations about the plants, biogeographycal explanations, worldwide maps distribution... it is a botanical garden more destinated to go for a walk. Parc Samà image
Parc Samà is a garden with memory, a Mediterranean orchard, a poetic forest, a melancholic palace… Parc Samà is the summer residence that in 1881 built Salvador Samà, Marquis of Marianao, between Cambrils and Montbrió, surrounded by vineyards, olive and almond trees. It is the legacy of an ‘Indiano’, a fusion of styles and a delight for the senses. See more..
