St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Michel et Ste-Gudule) image
This is an absolutely stunning cathedral in the heart of Brussels. If you come in via the train station, this is a very close walk - you can't miss it rising up over the nearby park. There are tons of beautiful stained glass windows and many side chapels and monuments/dedications throughout the building. If you time it right, the sun shining through the windows will leave color splashed all over the stone, which is gorgeous. See more..

    Royal Palace (Palais Royal) image
My husband and I did our own walking tour of the city and we enjoyed walking through the gardens to the Palace even though it was winter. We came around the perfect time to take pictures of the Palace. We came just around sunset and were able to get a beautiful colored sky and not a lot of traffic passing by for some good pictures. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see the inside, hopefully, next time. Worth a stop while you are in Brussels. See more..

  9. 4.0 Stoclet House (45 reviews)
    - Visiting the Palais
    Historic Sites
    Stoclet House image
Having had the pleasure to have been invited to the Palais in the 1990s whilst Baroness Stoclet was living in this fantastic home, it is truly a unique home inside and out. With its Klimt friezes decorating the dining hall and its coral wood floored auditorium, just a couple of Inclusions of this ”Wiener Werkstatte” filled home. I recall the Baroness’ amusing comment at the time whispering to me that she was but the curator of this fascinating home. And whilst it is disappointing to most that the home is not open to the public, maybe that is a major factor why it has maintained its mystic and condition. Fascinating home and fascinating family!
