This is the first Museum of viticulture and winemaking in Western Ukraine and the second one in the Ukraine. Our oldest wine press is 300 years old, but the traditions of winemaking in Transcarpathia are way older. They are alive in the skills of the masters of Chateau Chizay. Our museum is an educational project created with great love. - 4.5 Synevir Lake (140 reviews)
-A FISH THE SIZE OF A COW?
Bodies of Water
Our guide Yuri had tales to tell about various aspects of the lake from the love story associated with the wooden poles to why you cannot swim in the lake, the latter tied into the review title [actually it is against park regulations]. With tales, it takes an hour to stroll around the largest lake in the Carpathian Mountains, situated at 989m above sea level. It can be cool on a blustery day. Dense pine forests surround the lake. Various types of honey are for sale in a rainbow of colours. It is one of Ukraine's seven nature highlights. See more..
- 4.5 Subcarpathian Rus' Museum of Folk Architecture and Customs (130 reviews)
-It's more of a park
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality Museums
Though it has some interesting examples of folk architecture (the houses were brought from different parts of Zakarpattia) and some curious artifacts from the days gone by (there's even a XVII century stave church!), this open-air museum is more of a place to take a walk, especially when the weather is nice: it has lots of grassy lawns; the atmosphere is very laid-back, and the ticket cost is very cheap. Some of the historic houses have bunnies, chickens, and sometimes other farm animals, so the children can have fun watching them. Every now and again the ladies who watch over the territory will cell homemade wine and honey. While it's true that the place could use some renovation (I've visited it multiple times over the last 10 years or so, and nothing has changed), I still enjoy going there every now and again. I think it's the only major green zone in the city's historic center. See more..

Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks

- 4.5 Gorchichnoye Zerno (52 reviews)
-A little grain of dream
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The name of this lane in the centre of Uzhgorod is Mustard Grain. The legend tells that in the very beginning every dream is the size of a mustard grain - a tiny seed that is planted in a human soul. If cherished, it grows big and strong. A dream to recreate a historical part of the age-old city had a similar destiny. Mustard Grain is small passageway street with quaint buildings, cosy cafes and lovely small shops. There is also a guardian of the place named Uncle Vanya wearing a uniform of a 19th century Austrian janitor who greets the adults and gives sweets to children. It doesn't take long to visit the street but the memories last a lifetime growing big and strong like mustard grains... See more..
