- 5.0 Long-Range Strategic Aviation Museum (59 reviews)
-Hands-on experience
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums
This was quite a different experience. First of all, don't do like us and decide to walk there, Google maps got a bit confused and we walked, and walked, took a while to get there. But once you get there it's worth it. You first pay the regular ticket, which is very cheap. Then, definitely sign up for the bus tour. That one costs a bit more (a few hundreds of hryvnia) but it's totally worth it. You go with a little bus that definitely saw better times to a runway where you can explore several fighters. This is the first museum where I could enter the planes, sit on the pilot's seat and play around. There are 5 planes to explore. Beyond them, you can also check out tanks, jeeps and other military gear. Also check out the little museum on the premises, it's pretty good. See more..

Beautiful little Orthodox church and at this time of year (October) surrounded by trees of multiple autumnal shades of amber and gold. Intriguing that it is a 'church within a church' the exterior facade to protect the original wood structure. It is definitely worth the effort to visit, quite easy to find, a lovely park nearby and the local history museum close by too. See more..

The building itself is beautiful on the outside. Нам очень понравилось: большой курортный парк, очень зеленый, ухоженный, чистый воздух

-Wonderful authentic house-museum
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
This is excellent museum whether you wish to be better acquainted with legacy of prominent Ukrainian writer Panas Myrny or to experience life as it was at the beginning of the 20th century. Apart from cultural and historical significance, the house is unique - it remains untouched since last members of Panas Myrny`s family lived here - completely preserved with all furniture, papers, little things and even garden and pond. Museum itself situated not very close the city center, but it can be easily reached by public transport and it`s situated in a rather calm and nice part of the city. I would highly recommend to take a tour, detailed information make you feel the life of the house and the family in its fullest. See more..
- 4.5 Aviation and Space Museum (10 reviews)
-I seldom give an excellent rating, but this place is too unique...
Spent < 1 hour Science Museums
The Aviation and Space Museum is dedicated to the work of Yuri Kondratyk who, in the 1920s, did the calculations necessary for a flight to the moon which were used as the mathematical foundation of the Soviet and American space programs. Sound far out? Well, he published his work so you can read it if you want to. Neil Armstrong, our own first guy on the moon, visited Poltava in homage to Kondratyk. Very small museum which packs a lot of information in a small package. My Ukrainian companions were surprised how much they learned here. Great guide who was a pilot and took part in Ukrainian operations with US Air Force. See more..
