- 5.0 Mount Hoverla (185 reviews)
-Nice track, beautiful views
Mountains • Nature & Wildlife Areas
The highest mt in Ukraine - 2061 m has three tracks of different hardness. We were with 2 kids (8 and 13 y.o.) so we climbed via the green route and descended via the blue one. Breathtaking views not only from the top but through the whole way up and down. About 3 hours with breaks each direction. See more..
- 5.0 Dovbush Rocks (22 reviews)
-Perfect place for a one-day camping
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
It's a really great place for those ones, who really like an active recreation. Ideal place for rock climbing - the highest rock is up to 80 meters tall. Also great nature and fresh air. The only one con is the road, it's just terrible starting from Bolekhiv city (in case you are going from the side of Stryi city) See more..
- 5.0 Bastion Gift Shopping & Exhibition Center (22 reviews)
-Nice piece of historical fortress town in this very remote part of Europe
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
Souvenir gallery «Bastion» includes a cafe, restaurant, contemporary art gallery «Art Na Mur», shops for ceramics and glassware, ethnic-style clothing, jewellery, paintings, perfumes and cosmetics, DIY- shops and other souvenir and gift shops. In the gallery there are presented varying exhibitions of different kinds of art: photography, painting, drawing and sculpture. There are held literary readings and book presentations. On the square there are held various festivals, in particular the international festival of blacksmiths. The advantageous location of the gallery promotes it to large popularity among local habitants and guests of the city. It is located in a historical center, where local habitants like to spend their spare time and regional excursions have been traditionally conducted. Connection of the gallery with the center of city by Novgorodska-street and by Sheptickogo-square provides the enormous stream of people during all the day. Souvenir Gallery «Bastion» was also entered in the list of monuments recommended for visiting by official delegations and tourist groups. Here you can watch a free movie about the history of Stanisławow fortress and to see the living history — ancient fortified wall of the only survived southwestern bastion and prison casemates which are preserved and hidden behind glass. Nearby located objects are the following: city`s town hall, Central cathedral of Sainted Resurrection, Regional museum, banks, cafes etc. See more..
- 5.0 Makovytsia Mountain (17 reviews)
-Nice trip, great view
Mountains
I definitely recommend to try it if you stay in Yaremche! The height of the mountain is 984 m and bearing in mind that Yaremche is about 500 m, it is not too hard to get there on feet. Moreover, you can do it even if you are novice or have small children. We've done it with our children which are younger than 10. You can reach the Makovytsia mountain by several ways. The main root starts near Probii waterfall (so called Footpath of Dovbush); by this path, you can walk across the mountain to its top for about two hours. On the top, great landscapes appear around. Near the top, you can have a lunch in a small Gutsul Kolyba. The only warning: learn the weather forecast before the trip to avoid rain. See more..
- 5.0 Mount Pip Ivan (15 reviews)
-Great, great, recommend
Mountains
Everything was fantastic, view, weather, as many people say that it is most beatiful summit in Czarnohora mountains. We were staying at Dzembronia village and there is 5 hours up to Pip Ivan. Way up and the views are just pleasure. Not many people on the way so may feel this wild mountains atmosphere. Recommend to leave early morning because you don't want to be on PipIvan during storm, somehow they were all about 4-5PM during our stay. We've met some tourist who are not amateurs, who unfortunately were up there in the storm, also big trip with tens of children, crazy! They all do not recommend these exeriences. This storm also got us during way down, we were all wet despite it was only 1 hour left to shelter. The observatory is under construstions now to be in some time research facility for Warsaw and Pricarpatian Univesities - good for them, good that they cooperate. Some of the observatory will be mountain shelter for tourist, so this summit will not be as wild as it was before. See more..

- 5.0 Maniava Waterfall (14 reviews)
-Водопад в глуши
Waterfalls
See more..

- 5.0 Manyava Cross Monastery (10 reviews)
-Место для отдыха души
Religious Sites
See more..

(in group were 4 people) One downside: if you want to learn as much as possible in a short time - take an individual lesson See more..

- 4.5 St Elias Wooden Church (23 reviews)
-A classic wooden church rebuilt after burning down in spring 2014
Churches & Cathedrals
This is a lovely church that has been rebuilt since the picture above was taken. It burned down nearly to the ground a week before Easter 2014. That spring an unusual number of churches burned down in western Ukraine, quite a few of them due to arson. St Elias (Sv. Iliyi) has been rebuilt completely and enlarged as it is very popular and half the churchgoers had to stand outside during the Mass before. Every August 1-2 there is an all-night celebration of Sv. Iliya or Elias, with services, singing, people holding candles through the night and a little fair on the side. It's a lovely event. See more..
- 4.5 Hutsul Museum (22 reviews)
-A great primer on Hutsul culture!
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
I visited Kolomyya's Hutsul Museum on an organized tour of the Carpathians recently. It's a great museum to learn about local history and culture in the Hutsulshchyna area. Be advised that an English language guide will be very useful if you aren't able to speak Ukrainian. The museum showcases regional history dating back to the earliest periods. Primitive art and artifacts displayed along with more recent pieces. I liked the examples of local dress that were on display as well as local religious art and icons. The building in which the museum is located is very interesting and pretty also. I enjoyed taking in its architecture and accents alongside the exhibits. The stained glass pieces in the stairway were really pretty. Since I'm a bit of a history and anthropology buff, I'd recommend budgeting 1-2 hours at the Hutsul Museum. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend you visit! See more..
