    Everland image
As Korea's largest theme park, Everland opened its doors in 1976 and remains one of its most popular entertainment options in Korea today. There are plenty of thrilling rides here, including Korea's first all-wooden roller coaster which is also one of the fastest in the world. Animal lovers will enjoy the Lost Safari ride on the world’s first specialized convertible amphibian vehicle, where they can get up close to animals roaming around freely. Buy your tickets online in advance to avoid the lines. You might also want to visit during the holidays for special themed events. – Tripadvisor See more..
  2. 4.5 DMZ (1.052 reviews)
    - Exciting and unique experience
Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites
    DMZ image
The Panmunjeom and bunker exhibition in Imjinggak were closed because of covid (as of 11 October 2022). The Dora observatory and the Third Tunnel were still open to tourists. Photos are not allowed in the DMZ after going through the security checkpoint operated by the military, except some designated tourist spots. Recommend to try the soybean ice cream at a souvenir centre - tastes like tofu ice cream. Overall an exciting and unique experience. See more..

  4. 4.5 Korean Folk Village (761 reviews)
    - Traditional Korean village
Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites • Amusement & Theme Parks
    Korean Folk Village image
This place is very far away from city center. It is also a challenge to get there by public transport. Unsurprisingly, it is not touristy given its location. It was quite empty when I visited. However, there was a slight drizzle and all the performances were unfortunately cancelled. The visit was still rewarding as you get to see some very traditional houses which depict how the traditional Koreans lived. There was also a small amusement parks with some rides. Overall, it is something different and it would be very good if you can catch the performances. See more..
  5. 4.5 The Garden of Morning Calm (479 reviews)
    - Awesome Light festival!
Sunday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Gardens
The Garden of Morning Calm image
The Garden of Morning Calm was founded by professor Sang-kyung Han (honorary professor of the Department of Horticulture, Sahmyook University) and it opened on May 11, 1996 as a private garden. He came up with the idea of establishing he beautiful, world-class garden while staying as an exchange professor in the US in 1993. The name Garden of Morning Calm originated from when Rabindranāth Tagore, an Indian poet, called Korea ‘the Land of Morning Calm.’ The founder and his employees have strived to embrace the natural beauty of Korea, oriental mystique, and the spirit of the Korean people in the garden. The design of the garden focused on curves, spaces and asymmetric balance, and Korea's unique beauty to express classic elegance and fabulousness. See more..

    - Panmunjom Travel Center - excellent company

I did the combined Panmunjom DMZ and JSA tour. We also saw the third tunnel; Imjingak peace bell and bridge of freedom; Dora observatory; dorasan train station and the JSA. We also had a North Korean defector with us and she was really interesting and answered lots of question. This company was excellent, organized, efficient and professional. Lunch was also included which was really delicious. Couldn't recommend more highly. See more..
  7. 4.5 Seoul Grand Park (271 reviews)
    - The sky lift over the lake itself was worth for the visit
Spent More than 3 hours Zoos • Parks • Gardens
    Seoul Grand Park image
The sky lift over the lake at this season - no flowers, no snow - alone was worth the visit. The lake was frozen at the edges. The calmness and reflections were peaceful. We bought a package ticket. However, it only included one ride (between the zoo and the zoo entrance or between the zoo entrance and the main entrance). Would recommend to save th the ticket for the latter ride. The zoo was bigger than imagined. There was a good variety of animals, and more than 6 tigers. The living conditions of some animals were not as satisfactory. See more..

    - great lake park near Seoul

    - Peaceful place. Rent a bicycle if you don't wish to walk a lot.
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water • Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Dumulmeori image
Dumulmeori is a place two water paths meet. It's on the island of Yangsu-ri. Good for a day trip. How to reach: It's 20~30 min walk from Metro Gyeongui-Jungang Line 'Yangsu' Station. There's a bus if don't wish to walk to reach. - The island is huge and you'll have to walk a lot. Otherwise, you can rent a bicycle. 13. 4.5 Gwangmyeong Cave (97 reviews)
    - Probably my favourite thing to do near seoul
    Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Caverns & Caves
    Gwangmyeong Cave image
Sure it's a bit far (40 mins train, 40 mins bus) from most main tourist zones in Seoul, but this quirky little park is worth your time. Part cave, part weird underground amusement park, this place can keep you busy for an hour or two for sure. I see people talking about the walking/steps, but if you are even minorly in shape, it's not an issue (maybe a few hundred stairs total). We did a cold wednesday morning and it was almost completely empty. For only 6000won, plus another 3000 to go through a "horror cave", you really can't go wrong. In addition to the cave and it's few offshoots, you can also do some virtual reality (5000-14000won), climb a platform for pretty good views, and there is upcycle art gallery worth a quick wander. It's not that the cave or attractions were so good, it's just the undeniable uniqueness of the entire experience that isn't available anywhere else on planet earth. See more..

Awesome place for walks. Just went there last weekend and truly enjoyed walking there for hours. Lots of activities to do with an outdoor gym, badminton club, roller park, woods for walking, grave sights, bridges and more. I would definitely be visiting here every other day if I lived close, but very easily accessible from Seoul through the Bundang Metro line. I went on a rainy day and everything looked so lush and green. Met some kind locals, one especially who toured us around for a good bit walking through the park. See more..
  20. 4.5 Seongnam Arts Center (64 reviews)

We had tickets for Death Note the Musical (HUGE fans of Xia Junsu) for July 20th. We loved it so much we returned again August 3rd. There is an Italian cafe in the lower part where we ate supper before the show. The meals were delicious. I thought the price was about right for that type of venue. Very nice building/theater. 23. 4.5 Semiwon (55 reviews)
    - Summer is the best time to visit to see lotus flowers
Spent 1-2 hours Gardens • Scenic Walking Areas
    Semiwon image
Semiwon is a lotus garden with many lotus flowers in summer. Great day trip from Seoul. - The location is about 15 min walk from Yangsu Station(Gyeongui-Jungang Line). Very nice one day trip together with Dumulmeori. - Admission is 5,000 won. I think it's very affordable comparing to other attractions. You have one chance to escape and come back. So, I recommend starting from main entrance and escape through rear entrance to see Dumulmeori. - There are lots of lotus flowers in summer. Avoid early morning and evening when they close leaves. - It's a huge garden to walk around. You can enjoy them for 2~3 hours slowly. - There's a foot bath with cold water. We loved it. - They sell foods and souvenirs using lotus and other things. - No need to be afraid of mosquitos. We didn't see any. See more..
  24. 4.0 The Third Tunnel (344 reviews)
    - Fantastic Experience. I highly recommend.
    Historic Sites
    The Third Tunnel image
This was a fantastic experience. I am a little claustrophobic and was concerned about how I would do with the narrow tunnel but it was fine. The monorail was down when we went so the only way in and out was by walking which was a fantastic way to stretch your legs and get in a little cardio. Walking through the tunnel and seeing the markings for the dynamite was really cool. Our guide was also very sweet and informative. I highly recommend this experience. See more..
  25. 4.0 Hwaseong Haenggung Palace (342 reviews)
    - come and visit the Hwaseong Palace in the evening !
    Historic Sites
    Hwaseong Haenggung Palace image
If you come and visit the Hwaseong Palace, please enter in the evening to explore the day and night of the heritage city. I visited the Hwaseong Palace in Suwon at night again. It turns out that watching the moon in the ancient city is not an exclusive activity during the mid-autumn festival. The full moon has become a permanent lighting fixture, and there are light shows at the main square throughout the night. You may even see the night view of the entire palace when you climb up to the mid-level. See more..
  26. 4.0 Dorasan Station (258 reviews)
    - Reunification
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Dorasan Station image
This station used to connect South Korea and North Korea but it is more like a museum now. It is part of planned Trans-Asia railway and also symbolize the hope of reunification between the two countries. It has left a deep emotion to me and also the other Koreans. See more..
  27. 4.0 Caribbean Bay (237 reviews)
    - Be prepared to pay extra for everything
    Water Parks
    Caribbean Bay image
This water park is a bit expensive, especially for winter months when half the park (the outside part) is closed. Make sure to search for discounts - there are sometimes generous discounts for foreigners, so check the website before you go. I wouldn't go without a discount in the winter because it's a lot to pay for a fairly small indoor area with a couple of slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, toddler play area, and some hot tubs. It's especially a lot to pay when you must pay for extras like towels, head covering rentals, and even pool chairs. Heads up - if you are going, save money by bringing your own towel and head covering. While something on your head is required, it seems that a baseball cap is sufficient and a swim cap isn't necessary. You can save money by taking your own. Overall, a fun day out, but not worth paying full price. See more..
  28. 4.0 Dora Observatory (232 reviews)
    - Brilliant Views of North Korea
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Observation Decks & Towers
    Dora Observatory image
Fantastic views across the DMZ and into North Korea. There are mounted binculars for you to use for free and you can see people working in the fields, North Korean guards at their post, the massive North Korea flag fluttering in the breeze You get to see the nearest city to the border and you can easily make out individual buildings and statues. After spending a day in the DMZ it was great to get such a good glimpse into such a mysterious and forbidden place. There are great views of the south from the other side of the observatory. See more..
  29. 4.0 Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park (191 reviews)
    - Hidden gems in Paju
    Parks
    Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park image
It’s recommendation from my friend when I visited Paju. It’s not easy to get here if you want to try public transportation because there is only one bus to get there. The bus stop in front of the entrance so that it will make easier for you to get back from where you calme from. You can stay for half day tour and have lunch there. As notification, you have to be back at 17.00 because it will be your last bus to the city center See more..
  30. 4.0 Paju Premium Outlets (163 reviews)
    - Great place
    Factory Outlets
    Paju Premium Outlets image
Ok since I have been to Paju Outlet, I will give detailed directions here. From Hapjeong station (green line 2) exit 1, take bus 2200 or bus 200. Bus 2200 will takes about 45mins to reach, bus 200 will takes about 75mins to reach because it goes through the housing area. Both bus will alight right in front of Paju Outlet. On the return trip, cross the road and take bus 2200 or bus 200 back to Hapjeong station, you will alight at Hapjeong station (green line 2) exit 4, The fare is about/around 2400won/pax/way. This outlet is not bad, if I am returning back to Seoul and have extra time, I will revisit. See more..
