  1. 4.5 Yuseong Hot Springs Public Foot Bath (170 reviews)
    - Surprised at how much I enjoyed this.
    Hot Springs & Geysers
Yuseong Hot Springs Public Foot Bath image
This place may seem like a “check the box” type of stop, but this was definitely one of my favorites during the whole trip. I planned to stay only 10-15 min, but ended up staying near 45 min. There is a foot washing station and air hose on site to dry your feet. Packing an extra towel is not needed, unless you just have to use a towel. Please follow their rules and instructions so all can continue to enjoy this site. It’s easily accessible by public transportation and there is parking nearby if you choose to drive. Small parking fee is required on some streets. I paid only 1000₩ for an hour. Good luck and have fun! See more..
  2. 4.5 Hanbat Arboretum (120 reviews)
    - Hanbat Arboretum
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Hanbat Arboretum image
Most arboretum is located outside of downtown, but Hanbat Arboretum is located in the center of Daejeon. This is a resting place for people who are too busy with their daily lives and good walk for exercising Hanbat Arboretum has two gardens, the east garden is closed on Monday, and the west garden is closed on Tuesday. If you want to see both gardens, I recommend you to visit after Wednesdays. Unfortunately , I visited the garden on Monday and could only see the west garden. I was happy to see well- trimmed trees and trails and what's nice is that there are places for education. Let's look at the west garden, which is different from east garden. You can see straw mats on the ground in case of a rainy and snowy day so that visitors can walk in a pleasant way The west garden has a beautiful landscape where you can spend a lot of time and energy When you come here you can see many signs that can improve your knowledge of plants and nature See more..

    Daejeon Museum of Art image
The venue is great, seats a great for the price, we saw Carmen ballet and it was beautiful. Prepare to take bus/metro after the show gets done, taxis were scarce after the show. See more..
  4. 4.5 Expo Bridge (39 reviews)
    - Nice evening spot
    Spent < 1 hour Bridges
    Expo Bridge image
Expo Bridge looks tacky at first and clearly outdated as the other remnants of the 1993 Daejeon World Expo. But the surrounding area on the river path gets popular when it’s near dusk as the bridge lights up as families and couples set up picnics to enjoy the sunset. While the bridge itself isn’t much of a sight, it is a nice backdrop in the evening when it lights up. See more..
  5. 4.5 Uam historical Park (34 reviews)
    - Uam historical park
Sunday: 5:00 AM - 9:00 PM Historic Sites • Parks
    Uam historical Park image
I was impressed seeing the wonderful Uam historical park, the place where the scholer Song Si Yeol taught and shared his ideas with his disciples. I was sure that he must have loved his place. Uam historical park is one of my favorite places. I love old trees and cozy garden. I sometimes take my foreign friends there. See more..
  6. 4.5 Currency Museum (29 reviews)
    - Very Interesting
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Speciality Museums
    Currency Museum image
Free admission and it is quite interesting to see how the currency has evolved in Korea since the early days to the Japanese Occupation and up to the Independence and Korean Wars. If you take time to read the descriptions, you can learn a lot about the history of Korea from their money. They do have some parts that do not have any english in it, but for the most part it has it both in english and korean. See more..
  7. 4.5 Geological Museum (26 reviews)
    - A comprehensive guide on Geology for everyone!
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Natural History Museums • Science Museums • Geologic Formations
    Geological Museum image
I went to visit the museum with my five-year-old son. The museum has both in-door and out-door exhibition. The in-door displays and exhibitions are very impressive, packed with rock and mineral specimens that tell a lot of story. There are also sections for kids to put their hands on and explore about rocks and minerals, without having to worry about all the equipment because they have them all installed. Kids love them! The displays and exhibitions are very comprehensive, in Korean with some English. It would be nice if you know Korean or have your Korean friend(s) come along. The out door rock garden is even more spectacular if you know some geology. I enjoyed walking from one rock to another seeing fabulous geological features displayed on the rock surfaces. One can also walk through the 4.6-billion-year geological time path and learning about history of the world at the same time. This geological museum is definitely a must-see for all visitors. 8. 4.5 Jangtaesan Natural Forest (24 reviews)
    - Very relaxing walk and beautiful place

    Jangtaesan Natural Forest image
There was a board walk up to the Sky Tower. Quite an easy stroll up and should be wheelchair friendly. Walked up the to the recreational sites and there were sequoia trees along the path. Very beautiful. Weather was just nice for the stroll. There was a cafe at the entrance and we had to take a shelter as it started to rain as we were about to leave. See more..

  11. 4.5 National Science Museum (21 reviews)
    - Tourists don’t waste your time.
Sunday: 9:30 AM - 5:45 PM Spent 1-2 hours Science Museums • Observatories & Planetariums
    National Science Museum image
Tourists really should not waste their time visiting this place, it’s nothing special. But, if you live here or are on a longer visit this place is cool AND recommended. It is a typical Natural History Museum with facts specific to Korea. During normal times, this place is great for kids and youth. Many hands-on exhibits allow them to explore different sciences. #covidsuks. Closed on Mondays, plan your trip on any other day. Recommend dedicating at least 2 hours, but you could spend a whole day here. Bathrooms and cafe on site. Parking is 3000₩ payable at the kiosk near the entrance. See more..
  12. 4.5 Daejeon National Cemetery (16 reviews)
    - Picturesque pond, beautiful autumn foliage - fantastic for photographers
Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Cemeteries
    Daejeon National Cemetery image
The site is huge - several kilometers deep but the developed area seems to be around near the entrance where there's a peaceful park dotted with several buildings (library, museum, administration, etc). Beautiful trees of various autumn colors can be found in between the buildings and there is a somber atmosphere prevailing throughout the cemetery. There is a very picturesque pond with beautiful autumn foliage (as at 30 Oct 2018) around its banks, a quiet pavilion nestled amongst a field of flowers and an exhibit collection of around 30 military planes and armored vehicles used by South Korean military in the past. For hikers, there are several walking trails amongst the undulating hills surrounding the cemetery. Overall, I find the park a worthwhile visit but probably not as a standalone destination target. The cemetery is located close to Gyeryonsan's Donghaksa Temple entrance and Sutonggol Recreation Centre. If one is visiting any or both of these places, spending 1 - 2 hours at Daejeon National Cemetery is a very good complement to these 2 sites, especially for enthusiastic photographers in late autumn. A caveat - I did not venture into any of the walking trails or deep into the cemetery. Perhaps there are other hidden gems that I had not uncover at the site. See more..
  13. 4.5 Daeheungdong Catholic Church (6 reviews)
    - 원도심의 대표적인 근대건축물

    Daeheungdong Catholic Church image
See more..

    - Very beautiful in the spring!
    Zoos
    Daejeon O-World image
This place is definitely one of those areas you want to visit in the spring. Cherry blossoms start blooming end of March and the tulips are just popping up. The animal park was fun too. The bears love those treats. Don’t miss bird land and visit the Lorikeets. Definitely recommend you show up in afternoon after crowds start dieing down. I saw the whole park and did everything except rides. 2-3 hours is enough to hit the highlights, but I recommend at least 4. If you have more time, you can spend the whole day here riding the rides. All inclusive ticket=29000₩ Adult ticket for all sites=12000₩ Safari ticket=6000₩ I bought the adult ticket and safari ticket to enjoy all the animal sites. Bring 1000₩ bills for feeding the animals. There are many vending machines with food for almost all the animals. That was super fun! Good luck and have fun! See more..

If you need to travel around, one way is using the subways. Good to have a T money card as it work like usually transport card without need to queue up to buy single ticket. As we used the transport with buses, so it’s pretty useful and cheaper mode of transport. But pretty crowded on certain hours like morning office hours and after work. See more..
