    Wolgwang Waterfront Park image
I had lived around this lake. Taking a walk with my wife and daughter around here was one of my best experiences when I lived here. Above all, the fountain show dancing with the cool music is so gorgeous. Surely, there are good tracking courses and nice cafes around here. and there is a very old ginkgo tree here. Sitting under a ginkgo tree for a while in the gentle breeze would also be a wonderful experience. Of course, you can enjoy delicious rice wine(Makgeolli) and side dishes that you can meet at any tourist attraction in Korea. Especially, this area is famous for duck meat, so please taste it. I really recommend visiting here if you come around here. 영어는 안된다고 하니 한글로 50자를 적어야 업데이트가 된다고 해서 한글로도 열심히 적고 있어요. 아직 50자가 안되었네요. ㅎㅎ See more..

  4. 4.5 Apsan Park (205 reviews)
    - Getting your steps in = earning a view

    Apsan Park image
I gave this place 5 stars because of the variety of outdoor experiences packed into 1 place. You can hike, bike, get a gym workout, and exercise your inner peace. I recommend using the free parking along the road. You can usually find a spot on medium to less crowded days. The cable car trip is worth the ride, only costing ₩10,500 for a round trip. Water, food, snacks, and toilets all located at the top of the cable car ride. Less avid hikers, I recommend only going as far as Mt. Aspen ~1km from cable car site. Lots of steps and unimproved trails. Wear good shoes and take at least 1 bottle of water. Take breaks and soak in the views. Mother Nature is glorious and loves South Korea. More avid hikers can make their way to the second peak (Mt. Sanseong) ~2.7km. Recommend taking more water and snacks if you choose this path. Plan for 1-3 hours. See more..

  11. 4.5 Daegu Safety Theme Park (14 reviews)
    - Wonderful and education experience
    Speciality Museums
    Daegu Safety Theme Park image
It was one of the stops for the Daegu City bus tour. Basically this theme park covers very important life lessons that can actually save your life. As time was limited, we only managed to cover one area of the theme park. Admission is free and there was an english speaker to guide us all the way through. The area we covered was based upon the Daegu subway fire that occurred on February 18, 2003, that killed 192 people and injured 151 people. An arsonist set fire to a train stopped at the Jungangno Station of the Daegu Metropolitan Subway in Daegu, South Korea. The fire then spread to a second train that had entered the station from the opposite direction a few minutes later. It was due to the lack of knowledge of how the pressure doors of the train works and also evacuation measures to take in the event of any incidents that happen in the subway that led to the deaths or so many people. There was a short video introduction and we got to see the actual burnt train. We were then taught proper evacuation techniques hands on in a live simulation of a subway train fire. Many information was also provided on how we can save our lives in the event of a subway emergency. All in all an exhilarating and adrenaline filled experience that we could not stop talking about for hours after the visit. There are still other areas like earthquake simulation etc that you can try out if you have the time. See more..

  17. 4.0 Seomun Market (328 reviews)
    - A budget-friendly market to satisfy your cravings
    Flea & Street Markets
    Seomun Market image
Seomun Market is full of various food courts, souvenir shops, street foods, cloth shops, etc. I was provided market gift vouchers & an onnuri gift card worth of ₩20,000 by the Korea Tourism Organization & Daegu Tourism Bureau. Since the food is very affordable at this night market, ₩20,000 is quite difficult to spend at once. You can buy any stuff from this market by using market gift vouchers or onnuri gift cards; they work here as cash. I opted for a super tasty cheese lobster, a spicy takoyaki, and a refreshing mango ade in a unique bottle. Be prepared to wait for around 10-15 minutes for your turn to come as the market serves delicious food, and locals usually come here to satisfy their cravings at night. If you happen to be in Daegu, make sure to drop by this market. See more..

We went here during winter and it was very cold! As we go up to the Daegu tower you will floors that have diffrent arts of light. There are quite a lot of tourists though but it was really great experience! :) See more..
  21. 4.0 Kim Gwangseok Street (141 reviews)
    - A refreshingly "Euro" neighborhood in very Korean Daegu
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Kim Gwangseok Street image
The main downtown area of Daegu, Dongseongno, is famous for shopping and food. But if you head one more subway stop to the east (University Hospital Station) you'll find this street. It doesn't allow car traffic, so it's perfect for a walk. There are lots of cafes and expensive boutiques, and also a small-ish indoor concert area. On a weekend you're bound to find some kind of live music going on. So by all means check out Dongseongno, but don't skip this area! See more..
  22. 4.0 Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine (107 reviews)

    - Wonderful day spent at the park
    Parks
    Daegu Duryu Park image
Park is right across the street from notorious E-World. The park was beautiful, kid friendly and full of nature. My friend and I walked for a good 10 miles around the park and we didn't even get close to seeing all the sites. There are many statues and little sites of interesting tidbits of knowledge. We went in the evening and were able to see a gorgeous view of Daegu. Although at night when it got dark, some parts of the hike trails were not well lit, but so many people were out that I still felt safe. See more..
  24. 4.0 Gyesan Catholic Church (93 reviews)
    - Serene, tranquil place for worship
    Religious Sites
    Gyesan Catholic Church image
The only remaining structure in Daegu from the 1900s, according to visitkorea website. As catholics, this church was something we really looked forward to visiting in Korea and I'm glad we did. The church was so serene and the architecture was impressive. The church surrounding was also beautiful and green. The church can be visited via the Daegu City Tour Bus, Stop No. 5. Near the church is a big presbyterian church and a museum, which is also a great place to know more of the modern history of Daegu. Across the street was the location of the K-drama Love Rain. 25. 4.0 Hill Crest (59 reviews)
    - Worth a visit!
    Amusement & Theme Parks
    Hill Crest image
This place was fairly big. They had a pretty cool little zip-line course (the Tarzan course). They also had some nice gardens, a scattering of statues, and lots of places to take pictures. In the summer they have some wate stuff. You can also do things like soap making and some other nature based crafts. There is a small zoo full of sad looking animals, which i would advise passing on. One of my favortie things about our visit was the flower (꼿) bibimbap (mixed rice and veggies). It was really tasty and had actual flowers in it. See more..
  26. 4.0 Daegu National Museum (55 reviews)
    - Worth a visit, and you'll probably have the place to yourself!
Temporarily closed - Closed until further notice History Museums
    Daegu National Museum image
I went here when a relative visited me from America. Like most museums in South Korea, it's very well laid out and welcoming. If anything, I was surprised at how few people were there. (It was a weekday.) It's obviously a lot smaller than the National Museum in Seoul, but there are plenty of interesting old things to see from clothing to jewelry to artwork. There are also a lot of nice souvenirs on sale in the gift shop. I'd plan on spending an hour to 90 minutes here. See more..
  27. 4.0 Suseongmot Lake (54 reviews)
    - A grat place to walk, talk and eat in the city
Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water
    Suseongmot Lake image
Suseong Lake is a large man-made lake in the city of Daegu. It was created as a reservoir to store water for agricultural use but evolved into a popular walking and biking trail for locals. On any given day you can find couples, families and friends taking in the spring colors of the cherry blossoms, paddling one of the duck boats during the summer or people watching in the warmth of one of the numerous coffee and dessert shops that surround the lake during the winter. - Morethan 30 years of history as local shopping center
    Art Galleries
    Deabak Plaza image
It is department store. And it is amazing that it lasted more than 30 years fighting against modern chain stores. It have been being center of young people's meeting point and killing time. It is still landmark of Daegu Metropolitan city. You can feel how people in Daegu city love their country so much. Visit Kukchaebosang Undong Memorial Park too which is located very near. :) See more..
  30. 4.0 Exco (45 reviews)
    - Absoutely wonderful architecture
    Convention Centers
    Exco image
We had a week-long conference in Exco. The first thing that captures your attention is the size of this convention hall. It's huge. It can accommodate more than ten thousand people at a time. There are a few good cafes that serious decent food but coffee is good. Apart from that, there is not much to see. Unless you attend a conference here, it's not worth visiting this place. See more..
