We took a bus from Inter-City Bus Terminal (one transfer) arrived. It was quite easy to get there, just get some information from the Tourist Information Center near the Bus Terminal. It was a Sunday and the place was bustling, but not over crowded, with locals (yes, no tourist). We took the clockwise hike around the fortress wall. There were various great views of the city along the way. We were greeted by friendly locals who were doing their hike. The hike was moderately easy and a good warm up for our more tedious trek the following day (Songnisan). There were a number of eateries there, the locals ate there. We did not patronize any as we packed our own lunch (Gimbaps) and sat by the pond to eat after our hike. Great place to visit, even if you have children, it is an easy hike. See more..

Probably one of the best temples I have ever visited in Asia. Going to the top of the temple is definitely a steep and long hike up, but with every step towards the top becomes more serene and beautiful. If you're looking for a cheap and worth while trip in Korea, Guinsa temple is definitely worth the trip. Each building is an art on its own, and not to mention the garden that has developed around the temple is amazingly beautiful. Once at the top just take a moment to take in your surrounding. I would highly suggest going during spring or fall when it's not hot or cold as I could see it being a serious challenge in the cold or especially in the hot humid weather Korea can be during the summer as the hike is extremely steep. I am surprised about how relatively unknown this temple is. It really is an incredible sight. We went there on Sunday coming from Daejeon. The bus ride was comfortable and easy and everyone was very helpful once we got to the entrance of Songnisan national park where the temple is located. The climb to the temple is about 30mins from the bus station and features amazing nature and drastic mountain ranges. We went end of October and this is truly the best time to visit in my opinion. The autumn colours here are amazing nothing like i've ever seen before. Once you arrive you are engulfed by the beauty of this temple, with it's staples the golden Buddha and the 5 story high pagoda. But these are not the only beauties. Every building is intricatally decorated and adorned with many large statues within them. Be sure to indulge in the buddhist culture and enter the temples or the buddha to meditate it really clears your mind and is a truly endearing experience. You can stay for upto 3 hours which we did and will always have thing to see and do. In conclusion really a MUST if you are in the Daejeon or even Seoul area See more..

This is a like it of town. I've been told you can walk there from Danyang. The cost was minimal and the views we worth it. You can see the whole valley. You but a ticket and there is a shuttle bus to the base. You do have to walk up. If you go towards evening, the status would be great. There is a zip line and a car coaster also for an extra charge. At the base is a walking area that will also go back to town. On the way in if you're driving, you'll drive through an old train tunnel that a nice light display. See more..

This is a large area with nice garden, bike-riding enabled area and trail along the river and of-course - lot of places to walk and see. Songnisan is one of the least visited national parks in Korea, which means no crowd of tourists but a clean and quiet place. Still, it is a beautiful mountain with great views and peaceful valleys; the mountain streams are shallow and wide enough for kids to play; the hiking trail (Sejo-gil) is easy to walk without much efforts aong the tranquil lake and waterfalls. We took the trail from the temple Beopjusa to Sesimjeong and stayed at the inn Birosanjang, the sole accommodation within the protected national park area. The owner was so friendly and the surrounding is so magical that we decided to visit here every time we come to Korea. Songnisan used to be a popular destination in 1970's. Nowadays most tourists go to Jeju Island and Seoraksan national parks and beaches in the east coast. If you want to avoid a crowd of tourists & price hikes and enjoy a peaceful vacation, I highly recommend this place. See more..

This is a cable car to climb Bibongsan Mountain in Jecheon. Very nice to try. - About 40~50 min bus from Jecheon Station. - The cable car entrance is 15~20 min walk from Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex. So, don't be confused. - 15,000 won for a round trip ticket. I think it's not bad. Locating together, you can get a discount for using both of cable car and Cinema 360. - A single cable car seemed to have max 6 people. But, there weren't many people visiting. So, 2~4 people didn't share the cable car when we visited. - It goes up quite high for the distance. - The closure is 6 pm. So, don't be late when you arrive. - The 360 view from the top is fantastic. There are coffee shop and decent decks. - It seemed you can reach the top by monorail and it's also popular. See more..

어머님이 추천해서 남편이랑 같이 갔었는데 절 입구까지는 차량으로 갔어요. 길이 도로처럼 깨끗한건 아니에요. 입구에서 내려
절과 연결된 길을 걸어올라갔는데 조금 가파르더라구요.
가볍게 올라가는 쉬운 길이 저에겐 아니더라고요.
남편 손을 잡고 낑낑거리며 올라갔는데 절이 있는 곳은 정말
끝내줍니다. 산꼭대기에 절이 있어 주변 절경이 너무 멋있어요
곳에 앉아 이런저런 얘기를 나누었는 기억이 새록하내요.

Danyanggang Jando(단양강 잔도) is also known as Nuirimbo Gangmulgil(느림보 강물길). It's a long trail built along Namhangang River. I recommend this place for anyone who visits Danyang. - The total length is almost 20km. From Dodamsambong Peaks to Suyanggae Prehistory Museum. - There's no hill and it's easy to walk for seniors as well. - The route from Danyang Hotel to Mancheonha Skywalk is on the cliff and has a great view. - There are a few bikers on the trail. Though suprisingly not well-known, Korea has many excellent caves. Most of these caves are found in Gangwon-do and Cheungcheongbuk-do. Danyang, Samcheok, Taebaek, Yeongwol, and Pyeonchang are all cities that are nearby unique caves. Gosu cave is easily visited from Danyang. Gosu is not huge, but the formations are spectacular.
