  1. 5.0 Namib Offroad Excursions (76 reviews)
    - A fun tour to a secret area of Namibia.

    Namib Offroad Excursions image
We went on the Bogenfels tour early June '22. Heinz collected us promptly from where we were staying and was a great host for the whole of the day. He clearly was very knowledgeable and we had a fun day poking around the deserted buildings and had a lot of photo opportunities. Lunch was served in the old school and the day was topped off when we stopped at Bogenfels - a natural massive stone arch partly in the ocean. We booked this tour from the UK and I admit I was a little unsure about sending a bank transfer for the full amount but I needn't have worried. Communication was very good throughout with the office emailing to make sure we'd arrived as planned in Lüderitz. You can't do this tour yourself and we all thought it was well worth the money. Amazing location for sunset or sunrise. Difficult to determine the distances of the canyon; sunset brings all these different colors See more..
  3. 5.0 Jasper Museum (1 review)
    - Sehenswert
    History Museums
    Jasper Museum image
See more..

An awesome trip in such a beautiful part of the work. Thank you for a wonderful journey down the Orange River: the food was top notch and the guides really looked after us. It was truly a blessing to be able to share this experience with my family. See more..

  6. 5.0 Felix Unite Orange River Adventure (1 review)
    - Awesome and super fun adventure!
    River Rafting & Tubing
River rafting at its finest! We opted for a 4 day river rafting trip, starting on X-mas day. Everything is provided in terms of food and equipment. You need bring only your personal snacks, drinks, clothes and sleeping/camping equipment. The guides go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and safe at all times. When we went the river was very full, so we did very little actual paddling. This will vary with time of year and rainfall upstream. It was very hot and being able to swim in the river most of the time was great to cool down. Meals provided were ample and very tasty. Vegan and vegetarian was catered without any issues. I would recommend this trip for families with teenage or older kids. There is ample time every day to also do some hiking at each stop, or just have a snooze in the shade. See more..
  7. 4.5 Kolmanskop Ghost Town (1.082 reviews)
    - A lifelong dream
Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Historic Sites • Ghost Towns
    Kolmanskop Ghost Town image
Kolmanskop was probably the first thing I learned about Namibia. I still remember how I saw the photos on the Internet and was literally stunned by them. So it was a must see for me in Namibia. The place will make an incredible impression with its unreality and at the same time photogenic. I advise you to arrive early, buy a permit for photographers (it is more expensive than a regular ticket, but still more than affordable) and visit all the houses before people appear in the city. At the end of the walk, I recommend breakfast at a local cafe See more..
  8. 4.5 Fish River Canyon (489 reviews)
    - Go early
    Canyons
    Fish River Canyon image
Incredible canyon; the largest in Africa and either 1st or 2nd largest in the world (depending on how you measure it). You definitely need a vehicle (either your own, or go with a guide as we did). Amazing views. We went as it opened up and it was empty, but as we left if was becoming busier. The access to the area is not that easy and I'd recommend only 4x4 cars (although you might get away with a quality 2-wheel drive maybe?) See more..
  9. 4.5 Zeepaard Boat Tours (55 reviews)
    - Best tour ;)
    Boat Tours
    Zeepaard Boat Tours image
Hyko is the great guide you want to have when you do a tour. He knows and share a lot of his knowledge. He takes time to show you everything (dolphins, pinguins, Mola Mola), he is not watching the timing and will spend the time you need. Thanks Hyko See more..
  10. 4.5 Penguin Catamaran Tours (50 reviews)

    Penguin Catamaran Tours image
We did this trip early Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful. Due to the prolonged effect of COVID 19, myself and my teenage daughter were the only guests on board !! With only to guests our host still held nothing back. We got the FULL show. Very well informed young man, well educated on the rich history of Luderitz, and totally informed on ocean life !! The tour was un rivalled by any guided tour we ever did. We saw Various bird species, Penguins, Dolphins, seals, even a bird that only life over the ocean !! I would strongly recommend any travel to get out of lockdown blues, and revive your soul on this fantastic trip. See more..
  11. 4.5 Coastways Safaris - Pomona & Bogenfels Tour (36 reviews)
    - Amazing Day Tour
    Historical & Heritage Tours
Coastways Safaris - Pomona & Bogenfels Tour image
The Pomona / Bogenfels day tour is a must for every tourist in Luderitz. Booking ahead of time is essential as permits need to be acquired to enter the restricted mining area "Spergebiet". The tour starts of at 8:30 am, with your guide picking you up at your guesthouse/hotel. The tour is a very scenic drive into the remote "Spergebiet" with many informative stops at historic points, such as the old Pomona mine, Pomona village, the Fairy Tale Valley & Bogenfels. If you found Kolmanskuppe interesting this tour will be 10 times more amazing! A cold lunch and beverages are served in an old abandoned school in Pomona. Our guide was very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend this day tour to everyone that can afford it. See more..
  12. 4.5 Garub Pan (14 reviews)
    - Breathtaking!
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Garub Pan image
We visited Garub mainly because of the wild horses. Some came up really close because of the drought, others we only saw from afar. It’s amazing to see these magical creatures and how they have adapted to this seemingly dead environment! But there is life everywhere in the desert and the vast open spaces are simply breathtaking! 13. 4.5 Rosh Pinah Geo Centre (9 reviews)
    - Great Mineral Exhibition and Geological Knowledge in one house
    Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
    Rosh Pinah Geo Centre image
The Geo Center in Rosh Pinah was a 'must see' when we planned our 3 weeks journey through Nambia. The Mineral Collection is just spectacular and very well structured and maintained. Great examples of all main mineral locations of Namibia (like Rosh Pinah, Erongo, Tsumeb) are displayed. The very experienced geologist and owner of this center (Gisela Hinder) gave us great insides into the Geology of the surrounding. We booked a half day tour with her and learnt a lot about the deposits and mining activities and went to places that normal tourists would not get to. Definitely worth a visit to spend an hour for the mineral collection or booking a half day tour with Gisela to do a Geo Tour. See more..
  14. 4.0 Diaz Point (380 reviews)
    - Unexpected Paradise
    Historic Walking Areas • Lighthouses
    Diaz Point image
We decided to head to Diaz Point on a whim. What a treasure! Apart from the stone cross and the view point, the surrounds are beautiful. Little rocks pools, with coastal Fauna and flora all around made for relly fun exploration. The viewpoint was great and allowed us to see the rough sea and feel the breeze. I wish we had known how lovely it was, would have planned for more time there and perhaps brought a small picnic to enjoy there! We all just loved it! See more..
  15. 4.0 Felsenkirche (191 reviews)
    - Revealed a hidden treasure
    Friday: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
    Felsenkirche image
Found some photos of my mother from 1955 - oh wow! None of us expected that! We were aiming at a trip down memory lane where my mother was confirmed but did not expect photos in the relic collection. The stain glass windows were beautiful; the colors clear and bright esp in the late afternoon sunlight. The pews are well kept and I pray that they will be used more often. When in Lüderitz; the Felsenkirche is worth a visit. See more..
  16. 4.0 Wild Horses of Aus (187 reviews)
    - Great to see; pick your time with care
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Wild Horses of Aus image
You can see these feral horses from a hide located on the right as you leave Aus; it is signposted but not very obvious. It's best to arrive as they check the waterhole (late afternoon/ early evening) as you are much more likely to see them. They are feral rather than wild and will come to see you. As they tell you in the hotel DO NOT feed them with apples etc as it can harm them. See more..
  17. 4.0 The Goerke House (105 reviews)
    - Magnificent house.
Friday: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Historic Sites
    The Goerke House image
While this house is now owned by a diamond company and used as their official guest house, it is open to the public and they opened all day for our cruise ship visit. The entrance fee is quoted in local Namibian currency, Rand, Euros and US dollars at least on cruise ship days. The guide explained clearly the history and then we were left to wander around the rooms and all floors and photos were allowed. Some of the upper rooms are set out as guest bedrooms but the formal rooms are very attractive. The stained glass windows in the inner hall and on the wooden staircase are admirable. The views from these rooms and the small balcony across the town and the harbour and bays and to the encroaching sand dunes are stunning. A most interesting and enjoyable visit. See more..
  18. 4.0 /Ai-/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park (10 reviews)
    - A remote and wild landscape in the far south of Namibia
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
    /Ai-/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park image
This Park as the name suggests is on both sides of the international border between Namibia and South Africa. The C13 road in Namibia travels through the area closely following the Orange River, which designates the border between the two countries. The Park area has a varying, wild and remote environment. The road crosses the point where the Fish River joins the Orange River. The Fish River bed was dry, when we crossed, but the Orange River had a significant amount of flowing water. This area is worth visiting to see the extensive desert type rocky scenery and wildlife, whilst the proximity of the road to the border means you can clearly see South Africa on the other side of the river for a considerable distance. See more..
  19. 4.0 Aus Military Cemetery (3 reviews)

  20. 4.0 Hohenfels (1 review)
    - The Hohenfels ruins
Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts
    Hohenfels image
On top of the hill (where the road ends) are the ruins of Hohenfels that used to be an old police station during the time of the German Colonial Empire. Along the river just below it are huge eucalyptus trees where small monkeys can be found. At the moment, there isn't anyone governing the historical site or the camping areas, so you can enter without paying any fees. There's also a spectacular view over the river from the hill. 22. 3.5 Agate Beach (101 reviews)
    - 'Luderitz's most popular beach'
Spent 1-2 hours Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Deserts
    Agate Beach image
A long empty beach. More protected, therefore less windy than other bays and beaches, it is a favourite of the locals on weekends and holidays. It's the place to go and relax, have a picnic, walk for hours, look for agate and shells, dream, listen to the ocean and breath in the fresh air. Everything in life is relative, so, compared to Greece and Kenya, my two countries, I cannot say its a beautiful beach, but it is one of the best, if not the best in the area. See more..
  23. 3.5 Luderitz Museum (70 reviews)
    - Full museum
    Speciality Museums
    Luderitz Museum image
There are a lot of items in the museum. It could be improved by taking away the less interesting items and to focus on those who are more interesting and present these on more modern way. Anyway if you are in Luderlitz and interested in it history, nature, culture and mining visiting the musuem is highly recommended. See more..
  24. 2.5 Ai-Ais Hotsprings Spa (100 reviews)
    - Summer not the best period
    Spas
    Ai-Ais Hotsprings Spa image
Ai-Ais is the start or end point for the fabulous fish river canyon hiking. The place has a hot spring which is actually mostly dry during summer, as the rest of the fish river. Therefore paying for the hot pool (and an extra for the inside one) during these months is not really worth IMHO See more..
