There are a lot of items in the museum. It could be improved by taking away the less interesting items and to focus on those who are more interesting and present these on more modern way. Anyway if you are in Luderlitz and interested in it history,nature, culture and mining visiting the musuem is highly recommended.

Not to be missed
This museum is not to be missed, each will take their own view but it is a quintessential part of the Luderitz experience.....

German Nature Lovers
Very small museum, aimed at German speakers (most placards are in German). Some natural history items (shells, birds). Some artifacts from Namibian people groups (San ostrich egg canteens). Actual history is rather thin, limited to very faded photographs. There is nothing at all about Shark Island or the concentration camp there, which is definitely an oversight, whether intentionally sanitizing or not.
