  1. 5.0 Namib Sky Balloon Safaris (316 reviews)
    - Best way to see beautiful Namibia from above!
    Balloon Rides
    Namib Sky Balloon Safaris image
This was the most amazing flight ever! Very skilled team, incredible views to watch the sunrise, and the flight is incredibly smooth. It is very special to watch them prepare the balloons right before your eyes and the brunch in the desert after we landed was unforgettable. They also run a school for children, which is such a great initiative. I would highly recommend anyone to do this tour and book with Namib Sky if you are in the Sossuvlei area, it is a unique experience you will never forget. See more..
  2. 5.0 Namib-Naukluft National Park (310 reviews)
    - Nature at its best!
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks • Deserts

Went to Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei. As someone who was in tourism a long time ago, it was interesting to see that people now prefer Dead Vlei to Sossusvlei for sunrise. Which was great for us as 8 people shared the Sossusvlei sunrise when we were there. The walk to Dead Vlei is 1.1km in sand. Take your time and lots of water. Only negative is the road from the 4x2 parking lot to the Vleis. You have to know what you are doing to get there. If you are unsure of your driving abilities, rather take the shuttle. Nice surprise to find the road tarred right up to the 4x2 parking area! See more..

With three extra days in Namibia, I decided to include a quick trip to Etosha. I struggled to find a company that was still operational, and met my needs. Then I chatted with Megan, representative with Across Africa. I quickly knew she was actually interested in helping. Her sincerity, honesty, humanity and dedication were recognized immediately, and I knew that I didn’t need to search further. She set up my trip with no hidden BS, made an effort to meet all my needs, and did all of it promptly, professionally, and graciously. My trip turned out perfectly down to the last detail. I credit Megan and my guide Steve for making my quick visit to Etosha unforgettable. Because of them I will use Across Africa in the future and suggest to others that they do the same! See more..
  5. 4.5 Sesriem Canyon (48 reviews)
    - Interesting canyon
Spent 1-2 hours Canyons • Geologic Formations
    Sesriem Canyon image
It was a bit of a hike going down into the canyon but if you are able bodied it shouldn't be a problem. It was shady at the bottom. We were told that this is one of the few places that holds water all year round. It was created by the Tsauchab river over millions of years. Our guide offered to take us for a walk down into the canyon which most did. Our guide found a Adwof pick snake, bitter bush (used as a flu remedy) link ringwood tree and lots of fantastic beetles running around. There was also a barn owl high up at the end of the canyon looking down at the tourists. One of the pools of water had a massive diving beetle which refused to come up for long enough to be photographed but was the size of small chicken egg. We made our way back up through the canyon and onto our wagon and in five minutes we were back at the Sossusvlei lodge. See more..

Imagine an oasis nestled in the world’s oldest desert – natural fresh water springs, their crystal-clear waters sparkling beneath the fronds of lush palm trees, with dazzling vines swaying in the gentle desert breeze against the backdrop of the Naukluft Mountains. Step into the “place of abandoned water”, Neuras Naankuse Wine and Wildlife Estate. 121 years old, Neuras is one of the driest vineyards in the world, and its in this desert paradise that the Naankuse Foundation has combined the production of exclusive wines with the preservation of what makes Namibia the conservation mecca it is today… its wildlife, landscape and culture. Just as the quality of wines depends on the perfect combination of pure water, fertile soil and an ideal climate, so conservation relies on the pure passion, fertile ingenuity and ideal innovation. We have handmade, hand-bottled and hand-labelled the essence of Neuras, bringing you the true taste of Namibia, in the true spirit of conservation. See more..
  7. 4.0 Tsaris Pass (7 reviews)
    - High Caution when using the road
    Scenic Drives
    Tsaris Pass image
We have traveled this pass by using a 4x4 vehicle and would not imagine any normal Sadan to be able to do it. Although it is a beautiful scenery and really something for the avid adventurer who loves nature, it is very dangerous if not driven with extreme caution. See more..

tricky(ish) to access (fill in a form, pay, get the form checked at a second booth) but lovely place. The restaurant, which has 180 degree lake views, is very good value for money and seems to be little frequented. See more..
