    Namibia Tours & Safaris image
My wife, 4-year old, and I wanted to visit Namibia, but had lots of questions about tourism during COVID lockdowns in the country as well as accomodations, car rental, and all of the other details that go into making a trip successful. I reached out to Namibia Tours & Safaris only two days before we were planning on flying in from Zambia, so it was super last minute! Wilmari, immediately contacted me and answered all our questions and created a custom itinerary for our trip down to the last detail (including reserving a COVID test at our hotel). Needless to say, this company put our minds at ease about planning a trip last minute, and it went off without a hitch! All of the staff we interacted with were top-notch, and the services they reserved did not disappoint. Wilmari stayed in contact with me via whatsapp and I was able to ask her questions as they arose. I highly recommend Namibia Tours & Safaris to anyone visiting Namibia. They are worth it! See more..
  2. 5.0 Kuiseb Delta Adventures (372 reviews)
    - Fun & Education at its best!
    4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours
    Kuiseb Delta Adventures image
This was one of the highlights of our visit to Namibia and we can highly recommend it!! Fanie is an excellent guide: he has an immense knowledge about the history of the area and of course also about the desert, the animals living there, etc. And even more, he is a brilliant quad driving instructor! When you do quad driving for the 1st time (like we did) and you are standing at the edge of the dune looking down, you get a bit scared ... But no worries, just follow his simple instructions and let you and your quad slide down - it is so much fun!! Don't forget to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, light gloves, a hat and a scarf as protection against sun, wind and sand. Surprisingly, there's a lot around :-)) And then: just enjoy!!! See more..
  3. 5.0 Pelican Point Kayaking (325 reviews)
    - Major highlight of our trip
    Friday: 7:45 AM - 12:30 PM Kayaking & Canoeing
    Pelican Point Kayaking image
We realized the night before our tour that our booking wasn’t confirmed, and upon rebooking there was only one spot left. They did an exceptional job accommodating the two of us and made us feel included regardless. Denzel was a great and personable guide with knowledge of the area. There was a lot of “added value” to the trip (tea on the beach, flamingos, explanation of the salt mine, jackals, shipwreck etc). The seals are very friendly (for the most part... there were a few bitey guys) and curious. We had a blast paddling with them and watching them in the water and along the beach. The guides take pictures so you can focus on being present and on enjoying the experience. Even splash proof gear is provided! Really can’t recommend this tour enough. Thank you for one of the best tours of our two weeks in Namibia! See more..
  4. 5.0 Red Dune Safaris (250 reviews)
    - Awesome tour of Sandwich Harbour
    Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Red Dune Safaris image
Simply world class! JP Koch and his partner, Andre, who guided us on Sandwich Harbour were amazing. Starting from the booking stage, he clarified all enquiries and was prompt with communication. On the day of the tour, he was punctual and greeted us with an enthusiastic face. He explained what to expect on the tour before leaving and whenever we made a stop, he gave detailed information about points of interest and allowed time for pictures. The view at Sandwich Harbour is breathtaking and its a must do. We had a picnic at the harbour under the desert heat but close to the ocean, the feeling is unexplainable. The guide showed us lots of desert animals like geckos, jackals, ostrich, Oryx and springbok before safely driving back to our pick up point. I highly recommend Red Dune Safaris. See more..

    - A once in a life time experience - NOT TO BE MISSED
    Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM Kayaking & Canoeing
    Eco Marine Kayak Tours image
If you are traveling anywhere near Walvis Bay, you need to find Graham from Eco Marine Kayak Tours and go and visit the seals. What an amazing morning, from someone who has spent years on the coastline and scuba diving I can honestly say this was an incredible life changing experience. Graham is a great guide and host and took all our interests into account from the salt pans to birding and then WOW when you get to the seals, there were lots of babies and adults and it was just the best. Our 10 year old son loved the experience. This activity can be done by young and old and it is not to be missed. See more..

    Namibia Kayak Tours image
We thoroughly enjoyed our early morning kayak tour and the drive along the salt fields. Our guide gave us a lot of info on the animals and birds we saw. We got very close to the sea lions. It was magic. Protective gear and water was available and even a sort of tent to serve as women’s bathroom on the beach. After the kayak tour there was coffee and tea and home made muffins! Book your tour here, you won’t be disappointed. See more..

Very well organized, very friendly staff at the reception and crew on the boat. The cruise was ca. 3 hours, we have seen pelicans, seagulls, seals, dolphins and the whale. The crew did a lot to show us the whale as close as possible. Some animals visited even the boat. On the way back we had a nice brunch with fresh oysters, sea food and other snacks, and sparkling wine. Strongly recommended! See more..

Gobabeb Research station is a wonderful place for nature enthusiasts who prefer not to be surrounded by other tourists. Although remote Gobabeb is not far from Swakopmund and Walvis Bay and offers free and easy access to the dunes. Uniquely situated among three ecosystems (the Kuiseb River, the Namib Sand Sea and the vast gravel plains) Gobabeb provides days of exploration and hiking opportunities. Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Sandwich Harbour 4x4 image
Self drive to Sandwich Harbour is not difficult. If you got some experience with sand driving and decent 4X4, drop tyre pressure to 1 bar and be at Salt works 2.5 hours before the low tide. It will take just over an hour to get there. And there are old tracks can be seen. I am talking about the beach route. See more..
  15. 4.5 Mola Mola Safaris (310 reviews)
    - Dolphin Cruise in Walvis Bay with Mola Mola is a must-do when visiting
    Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Safaris • Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Day Trips
    Mola Mola Safaris image
I have repeatedly visited Walvis Bay and gone on a dolphin cruise with Mola Mola. Its such fun every time and I always come back with a big smile on my face. I love it when the pelicans swing down for a treat and the seals come onto the boat uninvited, begging for treats. It´s not super cheap, but well worth it and you get drinks, oysters and other yummy snacks included. All can be booked on a short notice too and they often have spaces on the boat the day of departure, except of course during the Xmas season when everybody heads down to the coast. 17. 4.5 Dune 7 (269 reviews)
    - Worth the climb.
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Dune 7 image
We climbed Dune 7 one Saturday morning to the top - was quite a climb but easier than Big Daddy. Stunning sights from the top. Tips: go in the morning when the sand is cool and you can climb barefoot. There is also no wind in the mornings, but it does pick up in the afternoon. We climbed around 9am and had the dune to ourselves for a while. Run down and go to Dune 7 Adventures for sand boarding and quad biking - amazing! See more..

    - Fabulous afternoon
    Boat Tours
    Laramon Tours image
We did the seals and pelicans tour (arranged by RSSC). It was fabulous. The gentlemen running the tour and the catamaran were professional, personable, and funny! We were entertained and saw plenty of wildlife. Unexpected were the constant offers of beverages (sherry, wine, beer, soft drinks, water, sparkling wine), a huge selection of snacks on the way back to the pier, oysters freshly shucked! Did I say oysters?! Yes, plenty of local Wallis bay oysters! And dessert. It was a fabulous afternoon. Couldn’t ask for any better. We were happy to tip, it was well deserved. If I ever was back in Namibia, I would do it again! See more..

6 weeks before coming to Swakupmund we were in the Natural History Museum in London. We spent sometime there looking at the displays of rocks and minerals. We thought we might pass half an hour in Kristall Galerie, then we went in. About an hour and a half later we came out. Our conclusion, the Natural History Museum in London should learn from Kristall Galerie how to display rocks and minerals. See more..

  22. 4.5 Kuiseb Pass (69 reviews)
    - Geology, history, great pics and more
Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Drives
    Kuiseb Pass image
The area is full of so many things. For tourists first and foremost it is amazing landscape and breathtaking views as if brought directly from some fiction move. Behind the crazy landscape, there is also fascinating geology for anyone who is at least a little bit interested. There are amazing plants, like contorted myrrh bushes, full of aromatic orange juice used for a perfume by Damara people. There is a piece of history: going that road one passes “Henno Martin’s” cave, made famous by an exceptional story of escapees from an internment, whose life in the desert was depicted in a book The Sheltering Desert. 23. 4.5 Long Beach Leisure Park (53 reviews)
    - different
    Beaches • Parks
    Long Beach Leisure Park image
we drove by Langstrand and took turns to the beach front, when there were roads to the waterfront. I liked the different feel this waterfront has, compare to many others. Since water is not really friendly to swimming, beaches are empty. So you can really take in the nature. Until the smell hits you. At first we thought it's human pee, but later we realized the smell comes from all the wildlife enjoying the beaches. See more..

Lovely to see the flamingoes up close; it is easy to forget that these are actually wild birds and do not like people getting too close. So keep to the tarred walkway (Lagoon Promenade Road) so that everybody can enjoy these magnificent birds going on with their daily things.
