It is a must see activity in northern Bornholm, good after visiting a castle, (just about a 1 km away). IT is suprisingly beautiful lake, you can walk around in about 0,5 hour. Be caferully - there a stairs two times so if you with chair for child (or any other) you can have little trouble. Lakes are really nice, and very deep, people are jumping from the high into. Dueodde is easily the best beach on Bornholm. This is because it is possible to find cleaner water (with less algae) by walking a little to the west. The sand is very thin, and the beach is very long, making it easy to find a good spot even in a crowded (sunny) day. Parking is easy to find at the Art Museum, there are 2 trails on either side of the Museum down to the coast. The trails go north and south for a few kms depending on how energetic you feel. There are plenty of staircases to climb down into several rocky bays (and back up!). There is a boat the travels from Gudhjem along the coast in the season and docks in one of the bays, so you could take the boat and walk the trail back one way or the other way around. The timetable for the boat is signposted at the lookout point. It was raining and the path was wet and muddy and there are no guardrails in some areas, so felt somewhat unsafe. Not for people with mobility issues or young kids. Otherwise very picturesque and something not to be missed. The water is crystal clear and the views are stunning. See more..

At first, we wanted to see the birds show exclusively. Then we decided to see all the shows they had, and it was a very interesting and inspiring experience. We asked if the shows would be in translated in English too, and all the staff had a great attitude towards us, despite being the only non-Danish customers. During the show, one of the birds didn't want to fly around, and the team decided to let it be, and not force it: that really shows the approach these people have with the animals, which are not treated as a circus attraction. We took the 3 hour blue walk from the Parking lot at Klintebygård. We are not used to trekking tours but are so happy that we did this tour in the most fantastic nature I have ever seen in Denmark. We found a really nice spot about 30-45 min after starting where we had our lunch on a big clip overviewing a lake in the middle of fantastic forest fauna. The blue trip brings you through a lot of different nature which makes it really interesting. We would recommend everyone who has the fysics for it to do this tour! Wear good shoes :) See more..

The museum has a wonderful white on white architectural design and spacious outdoor garden for sculpture display. Beside looking at the planting and craft from Danish Master (Oluf Host, Karl Isakson...) you would be amazed by the artistic scenery from the windows that look like great paintings. 3-story of exhibits to explore. There are also cafe and museum shop. After viewing the museum's excellent collections, I would strongly recommend that you take a slow walk down to the Sanctuary Cliffs to experience the scenic yet dramatic rock formation. Beautiful forest with tracks and paths all round and across. The tracks are colour coded for different themes. You can choose a hillside walk or walk into the open valley and of course just remain in the thicket of trees in the wonderful woods. Gorgeous old trees and new offsprings, moist moss and mysterious grounds. We came in a very hot day and the woods gave us plenty shade and comfort to track for an hour and half, something which would have been too hard in open fields in 30 degrees Celsius. See more..

Museum that has got it all. Visited for the first time 2 years ago, this time brought our 3-year-old which loved the place as one might try sitting in the military plane or tractors that they've got. Our son spoke of the place the rest of the week on Bornholm so had to go back for a second visit during our stay. But even grownups find things to look at, the museum has got everything from old toilets to collections of lighters, pens and cups. There is an old hair salon, a room with old radios and a house with old cooking tools and toys. Could go on forever, but if on Bornholm just pop in - you won't be disappointed! See more..

Jette ( the registar ) , Sarah and Ronny ( witnesses supplied by Bornholm ) married us in 15 minutes on SATURDAY morning with an ambiance and warmth ( and lovely presents plus wine afterwards )that we would like to it AGAIN !! You have a problem with all those formulars in Germany when you are English and live in Berlin and your future husband is Dutch and lives in Holland and Sweden , both devorced etcetc : go to Bornholm and get married overthere. First of all, they have an own hall for Eastern European cars. There is a Tatra 603-2 (worth the visit alone), a FSO Syrena, a Wartburg and a Lada. Plus in the main hall there is a Saab Sonett III, this is so rear to see. The collection isn't big, but it's well maintained and a good display. We found the “echo” – it was easy – just follow the sign from the parking lot saying “best echo 20 m” :o) The nature here is beautiful and we had some nice climbs and views. While here we also visited Rytterknægten (the highest point at Bornholm, 162 m) and the tower – the stairs at the top of the tower is scary – but the view is worth the struggle :o) But visit Ekkodalen for the “echo” and a nice lunch at Restaurant Ekkodalhuset – if you want fantastic hikes, I’ll recommend the Paradisbakkerne. This site took us some time to find. Coming from the direction of Gudhjem there is sign for a picnic area combined with a sign VANDFALL. It's right before you reach the lowest part of the Dondalen valley in the road. That's the place to be. It's a ten minute walk to the waterfall, it's not signposted , just keep walking strait on. The waterfall and the woods are amazing. Nice and tranquil. We visited in June and it was not very crowded. See more..
