- 5.0 Guanahacabibes Peninsula (37 reviews)
-Birding hotspot at national park
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Our group of sixteen birders, plus a local guide and a biologist from the Havana Museum of Natural History, spent two days in this large park observing endemic birds and other species. We had terrific looks at Cuban Trogan, Cuban Tody, Cuban Green Woodpecker, and other birds. The trails are like single-vehicle tracks, which makes it easy for everyone to get good views of the birds. Our visit included a stop at the headquarters, where our guide gave us more details of about the park and showed pictures of a special program for children that teaches them about migrating birds. -Amazing moment with perfect guide
Friday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Equestrian Trails • Farms • Gardens
Welcome to our farm created two years ago around an experimental project using permaculture techniques. We invite you to discover our many cultures : Mango, guava, avocado, mandarin, banana, cotton, honey and more ! Know you the whole process of coffee picking, drying and roasting on a wood fire. Explain our work techniques by hand and those with our favorite tractors: our beef. We offer horseback riding to enjoy the magic of our landscapes in the valley, to discover traditional tobacco cultures and artisanal cigar production. We guide you to a mountain to enjoy the beautiful view and enjoy the typical Cuban drinks (mojito, piña colada, coco loco..). Come spend a moment of escape with us to the rhythm and style of the Guajiros. See more..
- 5.0 Finca Quemado de Rubi (1 review)
-A great place to sample the cigar culture of cuba and eat
Spent 1-2 hours Farms
We found this place thanks to blog posted on the internet. It is one of the best tobacco farms in cuba producing leaves for the cohbia cigars. Oswaldo who seems to be the one in charge of customer relations is excellent, giving a in depth history to the cuban tobacco culture and explaining the growing of tobacco and production of cigars. It is also a great place to eat everything is cooked in a old fashioned kitchen using only hot coals as a means of fuel. The chicken and pork was very good. For us it was the best place to buy cigars as they were half the price of what you buy the cohbia in the state run cigar shops. Overall a wonderful experience with great staff highly recommended. I visited this park on a trek withe fabulous English speaking guides, Abel & Floyd, gobsmacked at scenery, wildlife, flowers, humming birds etc., too much to describe! With a stop off for break on tobacco farm & a wonderful drink from a real coconut, not the ones you see in UK supermarkets,! The coconut is cut in half with a machete , pineapple juice & shot of rum then drunk with straw! Yum ! Had to go & have siesta on arriving back to Casa, tired & full of wonder ! See more..

- 4.5 Valle de Vinales (6.017 reviews)
-Beautiful Valley!
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Valleys
We took a one-day tour trip from Havana to Vinales Valley and enjoyed the natural beauty of this area. We visited a tobacco farm, had a wonderful lunch at a nearby restaurant, visited the local market, and stopped at the Prehistoric Mural. We only spent one day there, but I would recommend planning on spending at least two days if you have the time. See more..
- 4.5 Cayo Jutías (420 reviews)
-MY FAVOURITE PLACE IN CUBA
Beaches
We travelled with my husband to Cuba for 10 days and we wanted to go to Cayo Levisa, but could not find accomodation there. Someone recommended to go to Cayo Jutias instead and we couldn't be any happier with the experience. Virgin unspoiled beaches, starfish, crystal clear warm waters. There is no hotels there, which is great, since keeps the pristiness of this beautiful beach. We stayed in a little (not very nice town) nearby, Santa Lucia at Villa Mary casa particular. Roly, the house owner, drove us everyday to the beach and back to his place. We paid 15 cuc for the trip. His house was impeccable and Maritza's (Roly's wife) cooking was amazing: top quality and generous serves. We fell in love with the place and the whole Cayo Jutias experience...will definitely come back. Roly's details for booking [email protected] See more..

Hirochi's place is always done well. Professional, kind, and informative. One of, if not the best farm tours to help you understand the whole seed to smoke process. English of the 2 guides are excellent. Tour cost is $2 per person currently. If you want to eat luch, please call and arrange this ahead of time, if they are available. See more..

- 4.5 La Güira National Park (4 reviews)
-Birding La Guira
National Parks
The park is beautiful! Drive through rolling hills and farmsteads to the limestone caves and lush forest. We were glad we rode in a modern taxi and could spend our time looking out the windows and snapping pictures. We saw over 30 species in this park including the Cuban Tody, Cuban Trogan, and Cuban Emerald with our guide Adrien, from Kirkconnell Birds. We paid 10 CUC for the car, and 1 CUC each for the caves which have stairs and are easy to explore safely. The cave entrance is past the camping cabanas. Wonderful place to get out and explore the country! It was a 10 hour trip from Havana including lunch and much exploring. See more..

-Lovely small garden with knowledgeable guide
Gardens
This small garden has an interesting history and lovely ambience to it. The guide I had (Yainel) was super knowledgeable and a great guy. He speaks Spanish, English, French and German. There’s also the opportunity to have a meal at the garden with organic produce grown there. I had a wonderful vegetarian lunch for 700 CUP sitting outside amongst the plants and birds. See more..
- 4.0 Cuevas de Santo Tomas (776 reviews)
-A highlight of our stay
Caverns & Caves
My hubby & I did thru Infotur with a very sweet & attractive Cuban lady with a Japanese name (Yoshida?). Infotur picked us up from our casa particular, the driver Daniel careful around potholes & very nice. The cave guide Michael very knowledgeable, helpful & funny. We had a private tour as sadly there are fewer takers of late. The steep hike up to the cave opening was daunting & the ladder inside required bravery on my part too. We loved the experience & view & would certainly recommend if you have good shoes, are not fearful of heights, like a reasonable challenge. We are in our 50s. See more..

- 4.0 Cavern of Santo Tomas (54 reviews)
-Prepare for an ascent..!!
Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves
Your passport is requested in the booking office but proved non-essential since we were allowed on the tour without producing it. You are provided with a very smelly helmet with an attached torchlight for use within the cave. Decent footwear is required since you are expected to climb up the mountain following a path that can be quite tricky especially when it has rained. A spectacular view of the valley is obtained from the first stage of the climb. The tour itself was very interesting and can include a view of live bats as well as the usual rock formations seen in such a natural situation. See more..
- 4.0 Parque Prehistorico Referencia Nacional (24 reviews)
-Very interesting garden with paleoontological , antropological and medical informations
Parks
The owner of the Casa Tomasa y Jesus besides the garden shows a collection of very interesting plants and exhibits from Cuba and the world and offers very many information about them. It includes paleontological, biological, antropological and medical background. Jesus is a never ending source of stories and facts and gave us valuable hints for natural treatment of high blood pressure which we already use. You should understand a little more Spanish than the usual tourist here! See more..
- 4.0 Cueva de la Vaca (21 reviews)
-An Easy Going Good Cave Experience
Spent 2-3 hours Caverns & Caves
This is a relatively short hike into a cave and easy walking. It is a good experience for people who want to feel the reality of a cave but do not want to hike a long distance. See more..
- 4.0 Hacienda Cortina (5 reviews)
-Past Grandeur back to life
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Gardens
A couple of miles west of San Diego de los Baños: a surreal, long-abandoned grounds of Hacienda Cortina have been brought to life. Legend has it that wealthy lawyer José Manuel Cortina made his fantasies/whims come true on this isolated spot, literally in the middle of nowhere. After almost a century of neglect, refurbishment money arrived out of the blue in 2014 and the Hacienda has been restored to its former glory. See more..
