    - A special part of history

    Mausoleo del Che Guevara image
Had booked a tour of Santa Clara with Dianaleis Maza Amores and to include the museum. Dianaleis was amazing. I’d highly recommend getting a guide as they just know stuff that brings it all together if you have limited time like we did. You can’t take bags in of any sort to the museum and there is a good ticket system for leaving them in a safe office. The museum has some amazing photographs and good explanations. The actual square is stunning. Cubans are so proud of their heritage and history you can feel it everywhere. Also on site are a small cafe, toilets and a couple of gift shops. See more..

    Santa Maria Beach image
Gorgeous miles of natural white sands as far as the eye can see which we walked barefoot. Many resorts along the beach still closed for business, what is open well maintained with beds available Security has everything safe and secure no worries. October weather means the ocean is a little rough See more..

Iglesia San Juan Bautista de Remedios image
Located in the historic town of Remedios, this is one of the few churches found in Cuba. With all original wood carvings that were gold plated at a later date, this church is beautiful and historic. Most of it is original, and the tour guide was very pleasant and informative. There is a donation box on the way out I would encourage all to drop some pesos into....did not see many people doing so which was a shame....located in the center of town across from cafes, cigar shop, ATM and little market, this tour is worth taking. See more..

    Teatro La Caridad image
Not the main reason for visiting Santa Clara but once you are here, you should look at the Teatro. Cuba has so many amazing theatres of this style - great to see them being used rather than just museums and monuments to a past era. See more..
  11. 4.5 Parque Leoncio Vidal (235 reviews)
    - A great place, heart of Santa Clara
    Spent 1-2 hours Parks
    Parque Leoncio Vidal image
The park is usually filled with people the young and the old. There is the heart of Santa Clara. People moving around, or just sitting in the benches, having animated conversation, or using their smart phones. Also, it's one of the only spots with WiFi. Every town in Cuba has a park dedicated to someone. Leoncio Vidal was a Cuban revolutionary who died in the battle of Santa Clara. Around the park is a municipal building, also Hotel Libre Cuba and Teatro de La Caridad. There are also good bars and restaurants there. Inevitable is the top Cuban music and of course a variety of cocktails. See more..
  12. 4.5 Cayo Santa Maria (160 reviews)
    - The BEST of Cuba
Islands • Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Cayo Santa Maria image
Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba is a true gem. This is a small island connected to Cuba via a 45 km causeway. Arrival airport is Santa Clara and takes approx 1hr 45 min to get to your resort from airport. There is much to see of Cuba in the bus along the way. The island itself is soft white sand beaches and crystal clear blue waters. The resorts are all pretty good, some better than others. I personally have been to 4 of them with Melia Las Dunas so far my favorite. There is a delphinium and marina on the island and you can book catamaran tours (highly recommend the exclusive catamaran Altair with Chino and Fredys) This little hideaway is so much quieter than Havana or Veradero so if you want noise and close access to city do not go here BUT if you love rest, relaxation and complete bliss on you vacation choose Cayo Santa Maria, you won't be disappointed! See more..

  15. 4.5 Playa de las Gaviotas (91 reviews)
    - Nature trail
    Beaches
    Playa de las Gaviotas image
There is a short nature trail (Sendero Playa Las Gaviotas) leading to this beach. It is refreshing to see some natural forest of Cayo Santa Maria. After the last most eastern resort on the road, there is a booth manned by a naturalist. One can get there by a taxi from the resorts. It is part of the Refugio de Fauna. See more..

  17. 4.5 Museo De La Industria Azucarera (36 reviews)
    - Very interesting
    Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
Museo De La Industria Azucarera image
It was interesting to see the process that they used to use to extract the sugar from the sugar cane and the size of the machinery was incredible. They didn't hid the fact that slaves were used and it must have sounded horrendous when it was running. I am not a big train fan but the journey to our next destination by steam locomotive was enjoyable. See more..
  18. 4.5 Museo Parrandas Remedianas (27 reviews)
    - The most interesting museum
Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
    Museo Parrandas Remedianas image
I am not a big fan of museums, but this one is really interesting. Before your visit read a little bit about the feast Las Parrandas, guides there don´t speak english, but their spanish is very easy to understand if you know at least few words. They try to make their explanation very funny and help you to understand to all aspects of this interesting feast. I was happy to see it :) See more..
  19. 4.5 Cayerias Del Norte (4 reviews)
    - Spiaggia al naturale sul Cayo di lusso
Spent More than 3 hours Islands
See more..

  22. 4.5 Che Guevara Mausoleum (3 reviews)
    - Un argentin exemplaire1
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
