   Cerros de Mavecure, or mountains of Mavecure are tepui rock formations along the Inirida River. You have to get there by boat, which can be difficult, but there are guides in Inirida that you can hire to take you. Bring a lot of water and food, sunscreen, towels, bathing suits, hiking shoes, extra clothes, camera. You can take a hike up the Cerros, which is a bit difficult but worth doing for beautiful views. You can swim with the river dolphins which was one of the most amazing things I did on my trip. You can also visit indigenous villages and learn about their culture which is really cool. It is not a touristy place, there is no where to buy food or water or any supplies, so bring everything with you. Be prepared to use the bathroom where ever you can. There are no facilities, bring paper with you. It definitely is out there and an adventure, but an amazing one worth doing. I visited in June 2015. See more..

   If you have the oportunity to go there, it will be like if you really get inside in the Amazon jungle and you merge with the original tribes and the real country. I'm sure that in any country you can find a real live but not so much with this landscape, mavecure is a unique kind of landscape that just for it, you could pay to know, but there are a lot more things to know and to do. Any way, you will be out of conection, no mobiles, no phones, no king beds, no private with batroom rooms, this is real.... One of the best experiences to live in Colombia. See more..

   Once you are in Inirida, going to Estrella Fluvial must be a part of your trip... I would recommend to stay at reserva el Moru, where hosts are kind, nice and natives, food is good and you for sure will have the Canopi experience inside the Amazonian jungle. You must have fire beside the river at night (better with a bottle of wine or beers) and watch the sunset from the atabapo river beach... I would not miss it... See more..
