3.5Dalian Train Station(171 reviews) - Inexpensive, reliable, fast, & efficient train service Public Transportation Systems
We arrived by train. The trains we saw at the station seemed relatively new, and the station looked good. We found the service to be friendly, reliable (leaving and arriving exactly on schedule), efficient and fast. It can be a challenge to buy tickets if you can’t speak Chinese.See more..

3.5West Fort Site(11 reviews) - Windy Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Ancient Ruins
In truth I was here in April, at the beginning of spring. It was warm but very windy. Place a little boring. Entertained only wooden sculpture of the defenders. I do not think that the fortress was defended by such giants. It is also extremely funny angry faces of Japanese invaders in the panorama of the museum. Though in that way portrayed all enemies in all the museums of the world :))See more..
3.5Haizhou Opencast(8 reviews) - Huge open cut mine Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Mines

3.5Hai Tangshan Scenic Area(6 reviews) - Mongolian Foothills to wander in Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Mountains
Tibetan style temple and Mongolian stone markers. Reasonable amount of rough and stepped paths with excellent view points. This hilly area is being developed into a bigger temple-dominated complex. Currently, some paths are under construction and blocked, and its easy to get lost - but never for long. Probably better for a family walk than any serious exercise at the moment. Oxen and donkeys are still being used in farming around this area, so if you are driving, the small roads are rewarding to explore as well.See more..
3.5Jinzhou Museum(5 reviews) - Less than spectacular Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Speciality Museums
Museum grounds are quite nice but the museum itself is very dark and exhibits are quite sparse. Except for the age of the items, it’s quite boring. Saving grace is the bell performance which is quite nice and well done. Not a must see for sure. I could easily have skipped it.See more..

3.5Qingquan Temple of Dalian(4 reviews) - Beautiful temple with six palaces Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Religious Sites
Qingquan Temple is located in Weiba mountain range village of Xintai, of Pulandian, and 70 kilometres north of Dalian. The beautiful, ornate buildings are very well kept, and show very little physical wear. Considering its somewhat remote location, it must have been a spiritual place used by more people of a more ancient time. My before visiting research found little information on the temple, other than it was one of the best two temples to visit in the greater Dalian area. The temple has three pavilions, six palaces, and houses a semblance of Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. The Weiba Mountain City was established about 1,900 years ago during the Eastern Han Dynasty. I was not able to determine the approximate age of the temple, but to looks much less old than the village and its ancient relics.See more..

3.5Anshan Ancient city(4 reviews) - Ancient City Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites

3.5Guanyin Cave Scenic Area(3 reviews) - Scenic and Picturesque Tuesday: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM Caverns & Caves
Need to walk about 1500 m route through the long krast cave. One way in through to outlet and be prepared foe a long walk. Many picturesque land forms of stalatite and stalemite as we walked through the long and narrow cave. These stalatites and stalamite stand up beautifully with the colourful lighting. Crowded with several tour groups and just have to patiently follow the pace in the narrow path. Wet and could be slippery. Going out of the cave needs climbing a long and steep stair cases. 3.5Anbo Ski Area(2 reviews) - Quick break from the city - All good Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Ski & Snowboard Areas
Three groups of families travelled to the Anbo ski area for an overnight trip. Car parking seemed large enough, staff service was efficient and warm. Food available at the ski area was surprisingly better than we expected - local cuisine but just right for the coldest season of the year. Staff behind the rental gear hire counter were great. Great smiles and advice as visitors descended on them full of vigour and hype. One of our members had a private instructor and her teacher was great acknowledging her and her mother even well after her lesson. Staff behind the private lessons counter were helpful too letting me charge my phone at their desk as the wall sockets weren't working. for skiing and snowball fights if you're into them ...snow was hard not powdery making it interesting and hilarious for us beginners on skiis. If you're after powdery snow shop around. The hotel we stayed at Sunny Hot Spring Hotel was a convenient distance from the ski area and had a ski and hotel package. The rooms were a little dark (could've been the weather and the smog too), but enough for a bed and breakfast deal. Beds were ok, Staff were friendly. We were locked out of our rooms a couple of times because of a faulty room card and the. Staff tried to respond quickly each time. Breakfast was a full on Chinese style breakfast - quite interesting for our overseas visitors...the local eateries proved a surprise with goose on the menu and lots of vegetables which were cooked well. Also on Saturdays there is a mile long market selling all sorts of things from food (donkey, beef, pork, sheep, etc) to traditional medicines and local clothing. For photos of the local lifestyle its a good drop in.See more..
3.5Benxi Geological Park(2 reviews) - Interesting for some Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Parks • Geologic Formations

3.5Liaoyang Tokyo Mausoleum(2 reviews) - Dongjin Mausoleum - Not open without special arrangement. Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Historic Sites
Tokyo is a wrong translation. It should be Dongjing, which means eastern capital. To look round have to contact the Cultural Bureau and arrange for someone to come to unlock. Unless you can speak Chinese that is probably impossible. If you can speak Chinese it’s difficult because most people in the nearby office are not inclined to make effort to arrange it. (The local party official tried.) It looks interesting from the outside, but we did not manage to get in as the Cultural Bureau would not come at short notice.See more..
3.5Lvshun Birds Park(2 reviews) - Cool under the trees Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
We went to visit the Bird Park and were quite impressed by the layout and the proximity of the birds. The waterfall has many water and ground birds and you can feed these after buying a bag of food for a few rmb. This made photo oppoertunites very good for my husband as he could get up close while I fed various ducks, peilcan, egrets and peacocks. The waterfall makes for a steady climb and is pleasently cool under the many trees. The bird show of 3 times a day is entertaining and viewed by many. It is included in the park fee. The souvenir shop is a bit pricy but entrance to the Birds Park was only 40yuan. The small restuarnant next to the entrance is worth a visit.See more..
See more..
3.0Runda Shopping Plaza(1 review) - Small trader shops for women's clothing, shoes and accessories Speciality & Gift Shops 4 level market. Ground floor is jewelry, hair accessories, hats, gloves, bags, suitcases, nail salons, make up, phone cases, etc. First floor is children's wear, shoes, PJ's and underwear. Second and third floors have more underwear, more boutique-style clothing, some dressmakers, and dance wear. Friendly vibe and some small price negotiation is acceptable, but generally, prices are what locals are prepared to pay.See more..
3.0Jinzhou Heishan Lianhua Lake(1 review) - Getting there is most of the attraction Tuesday: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM Bodies of Water
Not easy to find - the route off G1 with the huge signs is currently blocked off. Seems like the road hasn't caught up with the highway signage. We got there via HeiShan City, North on G102 then east on 211 (look for small brown signs), through JiangTun and look for small brown sign on the left (north) and look out for the rock with the red characters. The drive through farmland after the corn harvest was full of interesting sights. Donkey carts, ox carts, corn processing compounds, barrels of corn cobs and mountains of stripped corn cobs and leaves. The park itself was a peaceful place with lotus pond (no flowers in October) and a series of reservoirs for fishing and boating.Off season it was very quiet with no ticket office visible and no shop or restaurant open. From the rough paths around the fishing dams, we could see the corn harvesters with their ox carts. A number of fisherman with their cars parked nearby. Could probably bring fishing gear and someone might come by and sell you a fishing ticket. And suitable for kids to ride bikes around after a longish car trip.See more..
3.0Suzi River Rafting(1 review) - River rafting smelly Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
We went there to experience river rafting, when we pass the road it was awesome jungle. We were biking going there about 2hours,a little bit harder when we almost reach area for registration. Safety was implemented before doing the rafting, it was great experience because the water was 26' c and it was in the middle of the jungle, but when the last rafting section and we passed the houses and it was terrible smells, i vomited, i smells the poo of the people from there bathrooms, anyway they don't care so much about lavatory cleanliness which is number one for me. If I can choose I rather stop in station 5, because it smells good but we'll I cannot choose though because it is in the middle of the jungle. Try it but cover your nose. Tips. Do not but the ticket to thier office very expensive, but the River rafting ticket in the agencies there it is cheaper. Bus ticket also for long distance travel. See more..
3.0Liaobin Ancient City(1 review) - Old-looking pagoda with neighboring temple Historic Sites
Were driving around the Shenyang countryside when we decided to check this out after finding it marked as Liaobin Ancient City on TripAdvisor. Turned out to be a fairly old-looking (which is the exception in China) pagoda standing in the middle of nowhere. "Next door" is an active temple inhabited by at least a couple dozen monks - judging by the clothing drying in the sun. The monks were all in the prayer hall chanting away and the shrines were closed up. The temple looked newly renovated and very cheerful. Nice place if you happen to be in the area, though not exactly worth the drive from town.See more..
3.0Shuangtai Estuary Nature Reserve(1 review) - Currently a nature reserve in title only Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas Development of tourism this side of the Estuary is scant. Roads are pretty rough and not well marked. The map markers for the National Nature Reserve may refer to possible gated areas. The area furtherest south is a breakwater amid the marshes but the number of trucks using the narrow dirt road make it impossible to park or walk or bike, and the amount of trash at the marsh edge takes some of the pleasure out of watching for sea birds.See more..
3.0Guanning Ancient City(1 review) - Little left of the ancient city wall Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM Architectural Buildings
The ancient city was built in 947 by Liao Shizong Yelu Ruan. It is 1500 meters to the west and 1000 meters to the north and south. The city wall was destroyed at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty and is 12 meters high. It was demolished in 1972, leaving only 390 meters left.See more..

3.0Anshan Ximu Stone Shed(1 review) - If you love this stuff then go for it Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Historic Sites
If you enjoy stuff from the neolitic era, go for it, but if not, I don't think it's worth a visit. There is no museum next to it, nor anything else interesting, so it's not worth going if you aren't a big fan of such things. I went there just because my partner comes from this area...See more..
