4.5Yingkou Lengyan Temple(14 reviews) - My favorite part of the city. Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Religious Sites
This was one of my favorite spots to visit when i was living in Yingkou. My best advice would be to visit early if you are here on a short trip. The park really lights up around this time and you will see elders and "aunties" doing everything from traditional Chinese dance to practicing Kung Fu. There is actually a teacher who is willing to teach foreigners Kung Fu for free but his English is limited and you will have to speak a little Chinese. It's a very peaceful place that you should come to to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The temple has it's own fair during spring, you will be able to find all types of dishes and items for sale at this time. All in all this needs to be on your list if it isn't already.See more..
4.5Jinzhou Qingyan Temple(14 reviews) - Underrated Temple in Dalian Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM Religious Sites
This big temple compound is beautiful and deserves more fame. Taxi drivers in Kaifaqu, close by, told us they never heard of it, but a local taxi found it for us. It's perched on a big hill above a small lake at the far end of Jinzhou. It is a twenty minute drive from Kaifaqu Station.See more..

4.0Fengguo Temple(5 reviews) - 大雄宝殿值得一看 Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Religious Sites
At least once a year, I visit this impressive temple compound. A good time to go is the day after the Lantern Festival during the holiday time around the lunar New Year in China. For 150 rmb a taxi will take you from the Zen Bar in Five Colour City to the top of the mountain, wait for an hour, while you explore, and then take you back to Five Colour City. Or, you can take a taxi for 100 rmb to the main entrance and climb up 1,000 stairs to the top. For 2019 a number of renovations have made this attraction more beautiful. The cave has been developed a bit and there are new posts for railings on the steep stairwells.See more..
3.5Qingquan Temple of Dalian(4 reviews) - Beautiful temple with six palaces Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Religious Sites
Qingquan Temple is located in Weiba mountain range village of Xintai, of Pulandian, and 70 kilometres north of Dalian. The beautiful, ornate buildings are very well kept, and show very little physical wear. Considering its somewhat remote location, it must have been a spiritual place used by more people of a more ancient time. My before visiting research found little information on the temple, other than it was one of the best two temples to visit in the greater Dalian area. The temple has three pavilions, six palaces, and houses a semblance of Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. The Weiba Mountain City was established about 1,900 years ago during the Eastern Han Dynasty. I was not able to determine the approximate age of the temple, but to looks much less old than the village and its ancient relics.See more..

From the ancient city westbound 2 km to the North Town Temple. It is located on a high hill. It was built in the Sui Dynasty, destroyed by the Mongols in the Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, and renovated in the Qing Dynasty. The Qianlong Emperor ascended the Lu Mountain four times, and lived in another palace next to the temple. It is a temple to worship the mountain deity. sixty years ago it was said that the nuns in the temple were white and fat. They farmed their own land, did not eat meat, and ate peanuts to supplement their nutrition. The stone lions in front of the temple have different expressions. After more than 700 years, the stone has Xie Fenghua. Temple first white just right. Roses bloom in front of the temple.See more..

5.0Dabei Temple(1 review) - Big Sorrow Temple Or Dabei Temple Religious Sites
This big, beautiful, Zen Buddhist temple compound outside the little city of Haicheng, one hour north of Dalian (on the high speed train), may be the most underrated attraction in China or possibly the planet Earth. Seriously! Beautiful sculptures surprise your eyes in great buildings on a couple of small mountains with a lake between them. This place takes no donations, not even fruits, never mind money. In fact, they give you free posters, books, recordings, keychains, etc., in the gift shop. Take a taxi from the Haicheng high speed train station and plan to spend a few hours touring the grounds. Some buildings are very old and new ones are under construction. While you are in Haicheng, you can also visit Old Sorrow Temple, not far away.See more..
