  3. 4.5 San Qing Shan (413 reviews)
    - The Taoist sacred Trinity summits & awesome mountain scenery
    Monday: 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM Mountains • Nature & Wildlife Areas
    San Qing Shan image
It is amazing as to the very close similarity between many religions. At this Taoist sacred site the three most renowned summits, Yujing, Yushui, and Yuhua represent the Taoist Trinity. The latter represent the Three Pure Ones (aka, the Three Divine Teachers, The Three Purities). This is very alike to the Christian Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The 229 square kilometres San Qing Shan national geopark mountain has many spectacular, unique shaped rocks. There is a continuos stream of beautiful panoramic views from the trail through the mountains and in many locations, built onto and attached to the cliff walls. In some locations the handrails are comprised of chains, often loaded with “love locks.” This is a great place to reflect on our beautiful world. San Qing Shan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 4. 4.5 Lushan Waterfalls (156 reviews)
    - Worth the hike! Go on a Rainy Day to get amazing photos!
    Waterfalls
    Lushan Waterfalls image
My legs were not prepared for this hike! Even worse, the day was rainy and windy. I hiked in a raincoat all the way to the top of San-Die (3 Step) Waterfall in Lushan. It was worth it! The waterfall was huge because of the rain. The scenery was amazing! Misty clouds made the experience magical! See more..
  5. 4.5 Longhu Mountain (103 reviews)
    - Mount Longhu

If you are fascinated by Chinese culture, Taoism, “TaiChi,” and “Feng Shui,” Mount Dragon and Tiger (Longhu Mountain)is where you can choose for long weekends. When Taoism flourished in the Longhushan area, ten Taoist palaces, 81 Taoist temples, 50 Taoist monasteries, and 10 Taoist academies were successively built, which shows its prosperity. Award yourself with the world heritage view and fascinating culture here. See more..
  6. 4.5 Wulao Peak of Lushan (102 reviews)
    - Great hike
    Mountains
    Wulao Peak of Lushan image
This is one of the top attractions in Lushan. I took the sightseeing bus, west route and alighted at bus stop of same name. The entrance is just behind the bus stop. It is uphill steps all the way, with the beginning part the more challenging one. The first 4 peaks are close to one another. I took about an hour to arrive at the 4th peak. If you are generally fit without knee problems, I suggest to proceed to the 5th peak. From the 4th peak, it is all downhill steps and then uphill to the 5th peak, about 20mins. The view on top was great, with the sea of clouds covering part of the surrounding mountains. Finally it is another 30mins of downhill steps to reach the base of mountain, taking about 2.5 hours in total. I intended to proceed to Sandiequan (三叠泉). At the base, there is a sign indicating straight ahead to Sandiequan. Fortunately, I met a local who told me to take the right road instead as it is shorter. It is less than 5 mins walk, bypassing some local houses before I end up at Sandiequan rack railway ticketing office. Overall, it is worth hiking the 5 peaks as the view is great. In addition, it was quiet and peaceful, as I met less than 50 local tourists for my entire hike. See more..
  7. 4.5 Shigu Ridge of Sanqing Mountain (86 reviews)
    - Breathtaking scenery, alternative to Huangshan
    Mountains
Shigu Ridge of Sanqing Mountain image
I haven’t been to Huang Shan but chose this as a less touristy alternative. From what I can tell from pictures the views look pretty similar. I was here on Friday and Saturday and as from Saturday around noon the crowds arrived. I managed to comfortably walk all trails (but taking the cable car up and down) in one day a half. I would definitely recommend spend a night on the mountain to watch sunset and sunrise. Note: I found it really hard to figure out which accommodation is actually on the mountain and how to reach it. So Goddess hotel is indeed in the mountain, best way to get there is to take the east cable car and then walk from there, note that it’s up several flights of stairs. From the hotel it’s a 20’ climb up to the Jade sunrise watching platform. See more..
  8. 4.5 Autumn Water Square (83 reviews)
    - Impressive
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Autumn Water Square image
The fountain show is about half an hour and is followed by a light show involving all the buildings on the skyline. I've never seen anything like it elsewhere. Rent a 4 person bike. Take time to walk along the river! See more..
  9. 4.5 Jinxiu Valley of Lushan Mountain (68 reviews)
    - Nice hike but crowded
    Valleys
Jinxiu Valley of Lushan Mountain image
Atfer visiting Huajing Park (花径), I crossed the road to start hiking the Jinxiu Valley (锦绣谷) around 0830hr. Unfortunately, the hordes of local tour groups were doing likewise. Hiking this stretch took about 1 hour, mainly walking on stone steps along cliff sides. There were many viewing platforms, rest stops and food stores along the way. My challenge is the difficulty in overtaking these groups of locals, either too slow or blocking the way for selfies or photos. Hence I would recommend you do the hike in the later afternoon or going opposite direction. The hike will end at bus stop Heavenly Cave station. See more..
  10. 4.5 Wugong Mountain (Wu-kung) (62 reviews)
    - Nice nature
    Mountains
    Wugong Mountain (Wu-kung) image
I have been there several times, all with different friends. The mountain is the tallest one in that area, and has different plant on different altitude range. It's not a well developed mountain, which makes it very original and less busy as the other attractions. See more..
  11. 4.5 August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Museum (59 reviews)
    - Quite impressive
Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM History Museums
August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Museum image
This is a smaller than expected memorial in the middle of Nanchang. This is where the People's Liberation Army was formed in 1927, which eventually led to the current People's Republic of China. This is a VERY WELL done historical monument and worth a visit if you are in Nanchang. My wife and I spent the afternoon enjoying the old hotel/PLA headquarters and the Aug. 1 Uprising memorial. We were not expecting the quality that we found. Everything is primarily in Mandarin, but enough English to understand and appreciate the place. Free entrance too! See more..

  13. 4.5 Jingdezhen Ceramic Exposition (43 reviews)
    - Amazing place to visit for anyone who is interested in Ceramics
Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Jingdezhen Ceramic Exposition image
The grounds of this museum are outstanding, the scenery is beautiful and it is easy to spend half the day walking around exploring the history of ceramics in China. There are good signs in English which describe the different stages / steps in the production process which are very informative. There is also an area where you can see master craftsmen working at the various stages. One of my favorite parts was visiting the many different types of ancient kilns and see how they were reconstructed at this site. The site is popular with Chinese tourist so going on a weekday is better and going when the weather is good is important because most of it is outside. The entrance to the grounds are a good way off the main street - take the cab all the way in (15 minute walk otherwise) leaving is more difficult unless you get lucky and catch a cab you need to walk to the main road. - Beautiful Mountain You shouldn't miss
    Mountains
    Moon Mountain image
Moon Mountain is located in Yuanzhou District, Yichun City, Jiangxi, China. Moon Mountain consists of dozens of peaks including Taiping, Yujing, etc. It also has unique natural scenery like bamboo sea, waterfalls, pines and billowing clouds. Besides that, Moon Mountain is also one of the birthplaces of the deep moon culture since Tan Dynasty. Most importantly, travelers could always enjoy the hot springs along with the beautiful moon view after climbing the mountain. See more..
  16. 4.5 Tianqiao Bridge of Lushan (39 reviews)
    - Doesn't even look like a bridge
    Bridges
    Tianqiao Bridge of Lushan image
Would seriously recommend giving this walk a miss as this is the main tourist route. There are much better places to hike with no domestic tourists as most will tend to take the bus! The walk down to the suspension bridge is very peaceful and the five old man peaks (wu Lao 五老) makes for an amazing trek See more..
  17. 4.5 Huangling Tourism Resort (32 reviews)
    - The Most Beautiful Village It is
Spent 2-3 hours Historic Walking Areas
    Huangling Tourism Resort image
We were told that it is the most beautiful rural village of China and it just simply is. We had an amazing 1-day trip and everything was just right, from the scenary, the architecture, the culture, the weather, and the food. What I love most about this place is that locals still live their lives the way they do, although with tourists visiting. So, you'll find old ladies taking the trays of dried herbs out from the hanger while there're more than enough accommodations to facilitate tourists. We were also lucky to visit Huangling during Winter, which is a low season; there were very little tourists, allowing me and family to take time to enjoy our walks throughout the village. See more..

See more..

    Jinggangshan Martyrs Cemetery image
See more..

    Rainbow Store (Zhongshan) image
This used to be the best place to shop in Nanchang and it is next to a Parksons. There is a subway and only subway line near it but it is becoming old. A lot of shops and a Starbucks there as well. We came here for Chinese New Year and my son got a bunny made of candy. Overall it isn't nice as the malls in Honggutan but for the old Nanchang City Center is it fine. See more..

When I was there at 8am, there were already hordes of local tour groups heading to Huajing Park. Walking away from the crowd, the lake was peaceful and beautiful with the reflection of the surrounding mountain scenery. I recommend to visit the nearby Huajing Park and Jinxiu Valley. See more..

    Tengwang Pavilion image
We really enjoyed visiting the Tengwang Pavilion with our almost 13 year old daughter who's birthplace is Nanchang. Our last visit was 10 years ago when we adopted her. I couldn't believe how much Nanchang had changed in 10 years - a much cleaner, nicer city. The pavilion was just as a remembered it - several stories of beautiful paintings and art work. The views from each balcony are amazing. We also enjoyed walking in the gardens. See more..
