- 4.5 San Qing Shan (413 reviews)
-The Taoist sacred Trinity summits & awesome mountain scenery
Friday: 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM Mountains • Nature & Wildlife Areas
It is amazing as to the very close similarity between many religions. At this Taoist sacred site the three most renowned summits, Yujing, Yushui, and Yuhua represent the Taoist Trinity. The latter represent the Three Pure Ones (aka, the Three Divine Teachers, The Three Purities). This is very alike to the Christian Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The 229 square kilometres San Qing Shan national geopark mountain has many spectacular, unique shaped rocks. There is a continuos stream of beautiful panoramic views from the trail through the mountains and in many locations, built onto and attached to the cliff walls. In some locations the handrails are comprised of chains, often loaded with “love locks.” This is a great place to reflect on our beautiful world. San Qing Shan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many great places in Jiangxi where locals will spend their holidays. If you are fascinated by Chinese culture, Taoism, “TaiChi,” and “Feng Shui,” Mount Dragon and Tiger (Longhu Mountain)is where you can choose for long weekends. When Taoism flourished in the Longhushan area, ten Taoist palaces, 81 Taoist temples, 50 Taoist monasteries, and 10 Taoist academies were successively built, which shows its prosperity. Award yourself with the world heritage view and fascinating culture here. See more..
- 4.5 Wulao Peak of Lushan (102 reviews)
-Great hike
Mountains
This is one of the top attractions in Lushan. I took the sightseeing bus, west route and alighted at bus stop of same name. The entrance is just behind the bus stop. It is uphill steps all the way, with the beginning part the more challenging one. The first 4 peaks are close to one another. I took about an hour to arrive at the 4th peak. If you are generally fit without knee problems, I suggest to proceed to the 5th peak. From the 4th peak, it is all downhill steps and then uphill to the 5th peak, about 20mins. The view on top was great, with the sea of clouds covering part of the surrounding mountains. Finally it is another 30mins of downhill steps to reach the base of mountain, taking about 2.5 hours in total. I intended to proceed to Sandiequan (三叠泉). At the base, there is a sign indicating straight ahead to Sandiequan. Fortunately, I met a local who told me to take the right road instead as it is shorter. It is less than 5 mins walk, bypassing some local houses before I end up at Sandiequan rack railway ticketing office. Overall, it is worth hiking the 5 peaks as the view is great. In addition, it was quiet and peaceful, as I met less than 50 local tourists for my entire hike. See more..

-Breathtaking scenery, alternative to Huangshan
Mountains
I haven’t been to Huang Shan but chose this as a less touristy alternative. From what I can tell from pictures the views look pretty similar. I was here on Friday and Saturday and as from Saturday around noon the crowds arrived. I managed to comfortably walk all trails (but taking the cable car up and down) in one day a half. I would definitely recommend spend a night on the mountain to watch sunset and sunrise. Note: I found it really hard to figure out which accommodation is actually on the mountain and how to reach it. So Goddess hotel is indeed in the mountain, best way to get there is to take the east cable car and then walk from there, note that it’s up several flights of stairs. From the hotel it’s a 20’ climb up to the Jade sunrise watching platform. See more..

I have been there several times, all with different friends. The mountain is the tallest one in that area, and has different plant on different altitude range. It's not a well developed mountain, which makes it very original and less busy as the other attractions. See more..

-湖口双钟令人难忘
Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Historic Sites • Mountains
See more..

See more..

-Beautiful, mountainous scenic area
Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mountains
This has developed into a very beautiful mountainous scenic area, with fantastic activities for the adventurous. Take a ride up to the Sky Gallery and on clear days, view the mountains and valleys in the area. Visit the famous Buddhist-Taoist Dajue Temple. Take a walk on the footbridge . . . Not for the timid and those easily frightened by heights. Visit the Temple of Heaven on Lianhua Mountain. Go water-rafting. And there are many more things to see and do. Getting here by car from Nanchang takes about 3.5 hours. See more..

-New reconstruction of Taoist temple complex
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Mountains
This is a newly reconstructed Taoist temple complex that is of historical significance dating back to the Song Dynasty. We were staying in Nanchang for a few days and made this a day trip to try and escape the air pollution of the city. The air quality was better, but not great. We visited in winter during the off season for tourism. We took the train from Nanchang to Zhangshu and from the bus station nearby you can take a bus for 1 yuan to the mountain about 45 minutes away. When we arrived at Gezao there were no cars in the parking lot and no other tourists to be seen. We arrived at noon and found one restaurant open where we had a great lunch. The restaurant brews several of their own wines which you might try. After lunch We then paid the entrance fee (I think it's 80 yuan per person) and paid another 10 yuan to be driven up the hill to the temple. After exploring the temple we enjoyed the short 1 to 2 km hike back down to the gate. We saw several beautiful wild birds including a kingfisher fishing in one of the lakes below the temple. -Excellent also during winter
Mountains • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Beach & Pool Clubs
Although it could be a challenge to visit this place during winter but if you prepare carefully, it's worth. First of all, you should check the weather forecast and make your plans according to worst possible scenario. It may be snowing or freezing rain when you need specisl footwear. Take enough cold dress using the onion style (several layers) and take gloves. Take good quality thermos with hot drinks with you. Then you can start. If course, with a local guide Pros;: 1. Fantastic breathtaking views 2. Easy access (everywhere there are concrete paths and stairs) 3. Very high diversity of flora Cons: 1. If you like traditional alpine hiking, this may look very artificial See more..
