  1. 5.0 Torres del Paine National Park (6.089 reviews)
    - Stunning vistas so worth the visit
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
Torres del Paine National Park image
This massive, mountainous national park in southern Patagonia is known for its scenic glaciers, beautiful lakes, lush forests, and the three iconic granite peaks of Paine Massif. It is a great place for hiking, too. Go on a day hike, or embark on a multi-day adventure on the W and O Treks to fully soak in the beauty of this remote natural wonder. Book any overnight campsites, lodges or refugios in advance, or sign up for a guided tour which typically covers accommodation. September to May are the best months to visit—December to February is especially great as there are up to 17 hours of daylight. – Tripadvisor See more..
  2. 5.0 W-Trail (389 reviews)
    - Loved the W trek
    Hiking Trails
    W-Trail image
The four of us did the W trek on our own. Quite a lot of people had guides, but there were also a lot of people doing the hike on their own. In my opinion you do not need a guide, the trail is well marked. Our group ranged in age from 29 to 69. There were a lot of older people doing the hike and if you go in the summer, the days are long and you can take your time. We stayed in the Refugios which were great, food was OK to good and they provide a sack lunch each day. However, recommend you bring some of your own snacks also. The trek is mostly well marked and there really is only one main trail so it is not like you can get lost. Recommend trekking poles and proper shoes for the hike, although not needed all the time. We Were told you can drink the water and you can providing you use common sense and are upstream from where people are trekking. Highly recommend this trek, you will love the amazing scenery! Overall the hike was moderately easy , strong winds are common, we experienced this during various times on the hike; however, they generally kept the weather clean so we were fine with it. You must go up there to watch sunrise. We started from central camp around 3.40am with headlamps and reached around 7am. It was freezing cold. The place is magical as the color of the rock turns to yellow and red. See more..
  4. 5.0 Chiletour Patagonia (211 reviews)
    - Above and beyond expectations!
    Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Chiletour Patagonia image
We booked the W Trek Alternative tour for December 2020. Covid restrictions caused cancelation of the trip but Chiletour Patagonia was very accommodating, offering a discount if we would re-book at an alternate time. We planned our trip again for December 2021. Restrictions made travel to Chili difficult, having only opened to tourist in November. We had to fill out several forms required for entry and wait for authorization. The staff went beyond expectations assisting with the process, making sure we were both authorized and prepared so not to experience delays. At one point during the trip, ChileTours went to the airport to question an airline regarding incorrect information the airline had given on the website. The phone lines were so busy at the time we could not get through so they drove a great distance in order to assure our flights would be honored. I can’t say enough positive things about how helpful, concerned and accommodating the staff was! The trip was well worth the few hardships due to pandemic restrictions and requirements. It was absolutely amazing! We have traveled all over the world and the scenery during this trip was unbeatable! The guides and staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to travel with. We felt like we had made new friends. Lodging and food was good, even better than we had expected. I highly recommend Chiletour Patagonia! It’s a wonderful experience all around! See more..

    Lago Pehoe image

  6. 5.0 PATAGONIA PLANET (148 reviews)
    - Great day
    Saturday: Day Trips
    PATAGONIA PLANET image
We were picked up by our private guide Rossana and driver Juan at our hotel in Puerto Natales in the morning, enjoyed a full day at the Molyodon Caves and Torres del Paine national park, and then were driven to our hotel in El Calafate, Argentina. Everything was great. Carlos was very helpful in planning. Our guide was enthusiastic and informative. The border crossing experience was easy. The price understandably was high because it was a private tour with long drives, but the cross-border drive enabled us to start in Santiago and finish in El Calafate without multiple flights or taking a public bus (cars cannot be rented one way). More people should consider this itinerary in order to see more of South America. See more..
  7. 5.0 Circuito grande Torres del Paine (148 reviews)
    - Amazing!
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
Circuito grande Torres del Paine image
Decided to take on this epic nine day hike not knowing what to expect both physically and visually. A great decision to say the least. Physically it was extremely demanding but the rewards presented visually more than made up for it, melting away all phytigue. Camp sites offered spectacular views as well as access to side trips such as glacier hiking and kayaking. Camping facilities were more than adequate equiped with stores, cafes and even the Chileon camp had a full restaurant. Staff was knowledgeable and bilingual. A couple of the camps also had lodging (bunkbed) options. Each section of the hike was challenging in different ways but never did I feel in any danger. Park Rangers patrol sections offering a feeling of assurance. A must do for all hiking enthusiest. See more..

    - An incredible experience overlooking the Patagonian landscape

    Pingo Salvaje image
What an excellent experience! It’s so well organised, professional and friendly. The scenic backdrop is incredible and the ranch customises your itinerary based on your experience level. E.g if you’d like to gallop in the open fields or take it easy by the lake, no problem. It was super easy to book even though it was only two days before my trip. All done via WhatsApp. Highly recommend this ranch. See more..
  9. 5.0 Estancia La Peninsula (129 reviews)
    - A must do for any trip to Patagonia
Hiking & Camping Tours • Horseback Riding Tours
    Estancia La Peninsula image
4 of us spent 2 weeks in Chile and this trip was definitely a highlight. The staff are extremely attentive to each individual on the tour and the level of service during the activities was high.....and fun. Two days before our trip the owner contacted my group to see if we could change dates due to poor weather on the day we had planned to attend. As we had another trip already planned for the date, the Estancia called the other tour group for us and rearranged our tours so we could complete both - which was great and no work for us. On the day of out tour it was extremely windy and so the boat ride over was choppy to say the least. The guides however made sure we were all safe and all feeling okay throughout the boat ride. It was sooooo worth it .......the scenery and the activities were amazing. Not to mention that barbecued lamb and plenty of free- flowing red wine at lunch. Yes - it is expensive, but it is worth every peso. See more..
  10. 5.0 Kayak en Patagonia (116 reviews)
    - Last Trip Before Quarantine!
    Saturday: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM Multi-day Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing • Day Trips
    Kayak en Patagonia image
We experienced beauty on a grand scale during our 4 day kayaking trip. The quality of our 5-star British Canoe Union guide was not to be underestimated. Jeremy’s intimate knowledge of the waters we were on assisted in making this perhaps the single most spectacular trip we’ve ever been on. He was well aware of the currently water and wind conditions and was able to adapt our adventure for what nature provided. The meals that he provided were outstanding, especially considering that Jeremy was cooking in the backcountry. All provided gear was first rate including both the paddling equipment and the camping equipment. We experienced this trip in the middle of March, 2020 and Chile was shutting down while we were actually on the water. Nevertheless, Kayak en Patagonia came up with plans so that we were able to complete the trip. Would we come back? Yes!!! We’ve already booked for 2021. See more..

Claire, Felipe and Hans guided a group of us (ages 30’s to 70’s) through a weeks worth of activities and adventures in Torres del Paine and surrounding areas. Their knowledge of the geology, flora, fauna and history of the area and their willingness to share that knowledge made the trip extra special. Their passion for their country and its environment along with their love of the outdoors created an amazing experience and their sense of humor was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended. 19. 4.5 Monumento a Hernando de Magallanes (471 reviews)
    - Beautiful Magellen Tribute in Plaza de Armas. Excellent. MUST SEE PLAZA!
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
Monumento a Hernando de Magallanes image
Perhaps on of the nicest city plazas in South America. It is bordered by museums, shops and a cathedral. The square is nicely landscaped with pathways, old trees and this huge monument dedicated to Ferdinand Magellan and his exploration in the new world. On one side of the plaza are local merchants in "wagon" carts selling souvenirs. BOTTOM LINE: Due to the many anti-government protests all around Chile, Punta Arenas has been affected too. Sadly, this statue has been defiled with red paint splattered on it and around the ground at its base. This is quite a tribute to Magellan and his explorations. There are bronze indigenous native bronze sculptures at its base along with a mermaid. One has one has a large foot that is well worn at its toes. Legend has it that if you kiss (now just touch) the big toe the the sculpture that it will bring you good luck and that one day you will return. Well, this is out third visit to Punta Arenas so the legend must be true! MY RATING: 10/10. See more..

my motivation was to find out about the local tribes before they got delipidated by settlers. Nevertheless, fantastic! Great job, would like to come back to absorb more information. See more..
  22. 4.5 Navigation of Lago Grey (415 reviews)
    - An unforgettable boat ride
Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Navigation of Lago Grey image
It is a lovely boat ride to see the Glacier Grey. After leaving the parking area you have to walk approximately 40 minutes, through a rope bridge, a forested area and then approximately 2 kilometers of sand in order to get to the boat. As the wind was very strong during the day we visited, it was not an easy task to do. But viewing the glacier paid us off. Although it is not as grand as Perito Moreno, the backdrop of the jagged mountain tops creates a unique scenery. The deep blue colors of the glacier contrast the black of the volcanic rock and the milky color of the water creating a one of its kind landscape. The crew of the catamaran was very helpful, obsessed with safety as everyone HAD to wear life jackets once stepped outside and they offered exceptional pisco sours! Yes, it is a bit overpriced but the whole experience is unforgettable. See more..

  30. 4.5 Memorial to Ferdinand Magellan (216 reviews)
    - Located in a nice park
    Monuments & Statues
    Memorial to Ferdinand Magellan image
The statue of Magellan sits on top of a monument that also has figures of two indigenous people. If you rub, kiss or suck the toe of one of these indigenous people's statues local gossip says you will return to Punta Arenas. The place to rub is obvious as it is the only part that isn't tarnished. Most people just take photos. European style statue, reminiscent of those found in any European city, which reflects the history of Chile. A few vendors and musicians decorate the park but do not aggressively chase tourists. Worth spending some time here. but it can get crowded, and everyone wants to take photos of the same spot so you may need to be a bit patient, or visit late in the day. See more..
