  1. 5.0 Colchagua Museum (1.489 reviews)
    - WORLD CLASS MUSEUM
Spent More than 3 hours Speciality Museums
    Colchagua Museum image
We were astonished to find a truly world class museum in the small town of Santa Cruz. The collection is wide ranging, well curated and logically organized. We spent 2 1/2 hours there and, if we hadn’t reached a certain saturation point, could have spent even more time. Our understanding is that the ticket is good for 24 hours so it would be possible to return refreshed on the same admission fee (which, in any event, was quite reasonable). One particularly informative and emotional exhibit deals with the rescue of 33 miners trapped 690 meters below the surface for 69 days in 2010. We highly recommend a visit. See more..

    Colchagua Wine Tours image
We spent 3 days in the Colchagua Valley as part of a 17 day trip to Chile, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Connie listened to our requests and planned an itinerary with unique and interesting wineries. Each one focused on a different part of the wine making process, and the tastings were casual and informative. Of course, the wines were AMAZING. Meals were wonderful too. Colchagua Wine Tours obviously has great relationships with the wineries, as we made changes during our time there, and all were super accommodating. The days were planned at a nice pace. Our driver was professional, prompt, courteous, and is a new friend that we hope to see on future trips to Chile. If you appreciate wine, and want to spend time in the Colchagua Valley, there cannot be any better way than with Colchagua Wine Tours. Connie and her team are fantastic. See more..

  8. 5.0 Glaciares de Colchagua (82 reviews)
    - Amazing experiencie! Absolutely recommendable
Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours
    Glaciares de Colchagua image
We did the SERAC GLACIAR CAMP 2 days/02 night; and the activities and the overall nature sorroudings were just amazing, incredible and one of a kind. The camp was great too, the tends, the food, the kindness of the tour guides were fantastic. We felt that they did take care of details and they were eager to make us feel welcome and confortable. The only reason to not give 5 out of 5 is the transportation from the starting point and back; that is was pretty bad. The bus did not have aircon and they were old buses so the suspension was terribke and the road are in pretty bad conditions so our backs were very sore after that. The temperature inside the buses were too high, and we were all feeling a bit dizzy because of that. Finally, we recommend to change the type of camping mattres to normal tecnical one that are not full of that much air that feels likes a water mattres rather than a steady surface. Overall; is absolutely recommendable to do this Camp Experience! Simply amazing!. See more..

    Natural Wine Tours image
Gonzalo of Natural Wine Tours was an excellent and kind host. He helped us have a unique and fun experience in Santa Cruz. He arranged a bicycle tour and sent us maps to help us find our way. We enjoyed biking through the city to the vineyards right outside Santa Cruz. We were also able to horseback ride through vineyards with Natural Wine Tours to an incredible view of the valley. Juanito was an excellent horseback riding guide! Gonzalo is an excellent communicator, pricing was very reasonable and the experience is unforgettable. Do not have any doubts; you will be well taken care of with Natural Wine Tours. He cares about the people and the land! I would have Gonzalo create an itinerary for me should I return to this gorgeous valley! See more..

He’s a super knowledgeable and patient teacher and we felt safe and supported learning about surfing and the ocean. He guided us around the beautiful area and we were so grateful for such an authentic and fun experience. Ismael is an overall awesome human being, with a kind heart, and he will get you laughing and riding the wave of your life. We look forward to coming back! This is a really interesting wineyard with a truly unique story, great wine and superb personal attention by its owners, careful attention and exquisite wine. - Great views, delicious wines and warm welcome!
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards • Historical & Heritage Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings
    Viña Encierra image
We visited Viña Encierra on Friday afternoon. We were staying at Hotel Vendimia Parador and Inés offered the tour to us. She made a great point of what a beautiful place it is and how wonderful the wines are, so we made our way to Peralillo (only 25 minutes away) to experience it. The tasting was great, the vineyard was indeed beautiful, but Inés’s enthusiasm, knowledge and warmth was the best part of our tour. We highly recommend taking the tasting tour and walk around the vineyard. The history is amazing and the wines delicious. We found the Rosé, the Carmenere and the Porel wonderful. Will surely recommend it. See more..

  18. 4.5 Viu Manent (1.131 reviews)
    - A Must Visit! One of the best wine tours.
    Saturday: 11:45 AM - 7:45 PM Wineries & Vineyards • Wine Tours & Tastings
    Viu Manent image
This was a wonderful tour. First of all, our guide was a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English having studied in the U.S. She was extremely knowledgeable sharing much more information about overall grape cultivation and nicely wove that broader information into Viu Manent processes and history., A horse drawn carriage ferried us to the winery to view the overall operations. Afterwards, back to the wine shop and tasting area where 5 wines were sampled. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon was the favorite to find a place in my suitcase home. Save you receipt if you purchase wine because our guide informed us that is worth a 20% discount at their restaurant where reservations are recommended but you may get lucky for a table as we did. Favored tables are those under the trees. Lots of old productive fig tress abound on the property. Tour cost for 2 persons was about $ 45.00 US dollars. See more..

Truly great trip worthily a detour. We decided to go to las salinas at Cahuil: you reach it via a dirty road totally manageable on a regular car. Stunning views! Note: make sure you drive further after the first artisanal point to get the best views and a fantastic wallboard in the middle of the fjord See more..
  23. 4.5 Playa Punta de Lobos (343 reviews)
    - Beautiful spot, crushing waves, bird spotting
    Beaches
    Playa Punta de Lobos image
Driving from Colchagua valley we drove through vineyards and thick forests of pine and eucalyptus trees passing some small villages along the way and street vendors selling strawberries, water melons and other summer fruits. Pichilemu was packed with traffic and it took us approximately 30 minutes to get through. But Punta de lobos really paid us off. The spot has an amazing view, unbelievable cliffs with various birds flying around, the waves crushing on the rocks, the sandy beach full of people (although it was a bitty chilly) and the surfers in a constant “fight” with the waves. Although it was an overcast day one could only imagine how much more beautiful this place would be on a sunny day! See more..

  25. 4.5 Reserva Nacional Río Los Cipreses (183 reviews)
    - Easy hike, great views, cool parakeets!
National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Reserva Nacional Río Los Cipreses image
A lovely reserve—easy to get to, very well maintained. We got there late in the day (in the winter the park closes at 5:30) so only had time for a short hike. We did some very easy and short trails (Águila and Tricahue—which are connected). The lookout point over the cliffs where the burrowing parakeets nests is incredible! You can hear their chirping get louder and louder as you approach. Beautiful landscapes in all directions. The campsites looked very good, I would like to return in the summer. You are advised to make an online reservation before arriving (we didn’t, but since I had exact change and there were no other visitors they allowed us entrance). The staff were very nice and helpful. See more..
  26. 4.5 Sewell Mining Town (159 reviews)
    - Copper Ghost Town
Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites
    Sewell Mining Town image
Absolutely worth to see it. I advise to take a tour from Rancagua, as it is not possible to go there by yourself - organized tour obligated. Also the price was ok - about 25,000 pesos per person including lunch, guide, entry to the museums and transport. It was absolutely stunning to see this old town where all workers, engineers and directors lived and worked on 2,200m until the early 80s. Most of the houses are still there and some can also be entered. Had an excellent tour guide explaining us all the details. The mine is still working, but it is of course not being entered with the tour. Would recommend it to everyone! See more..
  27. 4.5 Viña Casa Silva (134 reviews)
    - Beautiful property and tasting room
    Wineries & Vineyards
    Viña Casa Silva image
I visited here recently on a wine tasting trip to Colchagua Valley. Case Silva is located about halfway between Santiago and Santa Cruz in Angostura. The winery is a beautiful estate, with a large tasting room. Appointments are necessary and begin with a short film about the family, estate and wines. Clearly large investments have been made in their facilities and there is also a large gift shop in the tasting room. We did the premium tasting but I did not find the quality of the wines to be that impressive - more akin to US wines in the $15-$20 per bottle range. We tasted the Casa Silva Reserva Sauvignon Blanc-2015, Dona Dominga Cuvee Colchagua -2009 and the Casa Silva Carmenere Microterroir de Los Lingues – 2008. They have a beautiful on property restaurant so definitely stay and have lunch here. See more..

We visited the stadium during the day and security allowed us to walk on the pitch and take photos. From here we came back on the night time and got tickets to watch the match (O Higgins) on Friday 15th Jan, 2016. It was brilliant, the crowd playing the jumps was great!! A must see!! See more..
