    Forum Marinum Maritime Centre image
Here you can walk for a couple of miles to feel the maritime history and atmosphere of Turku. While walking we learned about the old lighting wooden beacons in use since the 1220s! And of course we took photos with the monumental sculptures such as the giant chamomile flower. What we absolutely loved were these tiny bronze sculptures almost camouflaged and blended in with the nature and granite seating area of the port. We wish we knew the name of the artist! See more..

It manufactured radios, televisions and other electronic devices 1928–1993. After Salora ceased its operation, another Finnish technology pioneer, Nokia Corporation, moved to the premises. The museum exhibition presents hundreds of old radios, TVs, monitors, mobiles and other electronics made in Salo. - How an artist does interior decoration
Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • History Museums
    Casa Haartman image
Casa Haartman is the home museum of the artist Axel Haartman and his wife Hedvig. The house is from 1920's, designed by Erik Bryggman, an architect much appreciated in Finland and known abroad especially for his Recurrection Chapel (in Turku). This house was the Haartman family home for nearly 40 years, and Axel also had his atelier there. This is a charming place to visit, since the home is pretty much intact and lets the visitor get a genuine glimse into the everyday family life and circumstances of two cultural and cultivated persons.
